Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Afternoon all,

1. WDW - whether it was from my first visit as a 10 year old in 1997 to every subsequent visit I've taken since, it has always been my happy place & still is.

2. Disney clothing & accessories - I love wearing all of my Disney themed t-shirts and sweaters, and not to mention the Loungefly backpacks, makeup bags and everything else wearable.

3. Rides - for me it wouldn't be Disney without the rides, while I enjoy everything else the rides are the main reason I love the Disney parks so much.

From when i was a kid, I remember liking a Barbie game that was focused around careers; I always wanted to be the astronaut (which is pretty amusing as for all my life, I've suffered from extreme motion sickness, even in the bathtub- moving vehicles are the worst!). We also played Chutes & Ladders and Life... OH AND CLUE!

These days, we have game night at our friends' home a couple of times a month. We have supper, play games, share wine and laughter. Good times! My favorites are RummiKub and Farkle. I am NOT a fan of strategy games like Risk and Ticket to Ride.

Happy Wednesday Friends

#1 - SOFTBALL - I’m grateful to this game for so many reasons, but the biggest reason is for how it’s helped DD22 learn so many awesome life skills, especially time management. She’s doing so well in her doctorate program and another young lady is doing great too - they have the highest grades in the cohort (which is what they call the group of students in this program) and both these girls were college athletes. There’s an immense amount of studying that needs to be done and these girls have learned how to manage time to do this studying with going to classes and working. Many other students are struggling and when I asked if any were high school and/or college athletes, DD said no. Now, I’m not saying that all non-athletes are going to struggle, I’m just saying that being an athlete at the highest level really teaches a lot of life skills that can and will be used for the rest of the athletes life.

#2 - Wii GAMES - I have the best memories of playing these games with my girls. So much fun!

#3 - POOL & PING PONG - My grandpa made a very nice ping pong table for my parents basement and my parents also bought a pool table for the basement. My grandpa taught me how to play both and I have wonderful memories of playing these games with him until he passed away.

1. Shanghai Rummy - for all the hours of fun our family has had playing it
2. Word games on my computer - to keep my mind working
3. Baseball - not because I love it but because my husband enjoys watching it
