Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I go through trainers like crazy too due to walking so am glad to hear it's not just me!

It wouldn't bother me so much if they...
1. Weren't so pricey.
2. Lasted as long as they did about 3+ models ago.

I was so torn yesterday. Brooks released all of the runDisney shoes on their website and finally did something with my preferred model. It's a Stitch themed shoe. I just don't think I can pay the Disney upcharge on them knowing I will wear a crater in the sole by January. They're expensive enough as it is without tacking on an extra $15 for Disney. I also can't justify buying functional things and having them sit like collector's pieces. I guess at least they're now sold out in my size. Decision made for me...shoes I apparently just do not need.

Going to take a Halloween angle but going to theme my gratitude based on observations from my long walk this morning...

1. All of the people who leave their displays on 24/7 or at least turned them on early because today is actually Halloween. I'm mainly in the forest when I walk but each time I emerge, it's so much fun to see all of the fun and creativity going on in people's yards.

2. It's my last day to watch the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown for the season. I have all kinds of memories associated with this one. Of course, I can start watching the Thanksgiving special tomorrow where Snoopy battles the lawn chair. Still, the Great Pumpkin holds a really special place for me and I might just have to watch it several times.

3. Teens trick-or-treating! I know some people think teens are too old to partake in these festivities but I love it. It's a nice wholesome activity where they're literally doing the same as the younger kids vs. other counterparts their age who might be bored of that stuff and out getting into trouble instead. So, I welcome the teens that come to our house.

Caramel apples or caramel apple pie love

Knock knock jokes it’s a tradition around here that kids come up and tell you a joke to get their candy some of these jokes are really cute it’s just so funny because the kids will come up and say you want to hear a joke and I’m like of course I do

Halloween always makes me think of black cats I love black cats we’ve had several I think black cats get a really bad rap they’re really wonderful cats. 🐈‍⬛ ❤️❤️🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Afternoon all,

1. Ring doorbell - love being able to see who is at my door and also keep an eye on things from a security perspective, so useful.

2. Penn & Teller - can't say I'm a massive fan of magic but I make an exception for Penn & Teller. I've seen them a few times and always think they're a fascinating and entertaining watch.

3. Baguettes - slightly strange association here but growing up i always called baguettes "bread sticks" and there's nothing better than a fresh baguette for lunch or as a side.

Halloween
I love my neighborhood! So many people decorate and lots of trick or treaters come from our neighborhood as well as the apartments nearby. There were a lot of adults in costume this year. There are also families with so many different backgrounds and languages. I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want them here.
Watched our usual movie, House on Haunted Hill, the original, not the remake. If not for the World Series, we would have also watched Charlie Brown and maybe An American Werewolf in London.
We always buy too much candy, but luckily there is a dentist near us who has collected people’s extra candy for years and he donates it to our troops.

Good morning, and welcome to a new month of gratitude!

Today's Topic (Sat, 11/1) - 3 things you're grateful for about November

Afternoon all,

November isn't usually a month I'm particularly grateful for as it's usually cold and miserable. That said, I am grateful for:

1. Holiday - in 10 days time I head off to Hong Kong and Shanghai, and it couldn't come soon enough. Super excited 🥳

2. Christmas - christmas for me usually starts at the end of November, which is when I put up all my decorations and start listening to christmas music. It's also when we start going out for various christmas nights out and meals, so the start of lots of good food!

3. Pay rise - we're due a pay rise this month, we get a small one every year and while it isn't anywhere near as much as we'd like, it's always appreciated especially as it's usually backdated a few months.

1. November assures me that winter is coming and the heat of summer is past;
2. Thanksgiving -- a time to eat good food and thank God for His blessings;
3. We celebrate our first grandchild's birthday in November.

Well.... November is the first month of our summer 🏝️ 🏝️ 🌞 🌞... but October has been fantastic...so we will have 6 months of summer... which means after listening to Morgan Freeman....get busy living....so I will not be frequent here but send sunset photos and Alpine Glow photos

So Thanksgiving for letting me be part of this community...see you in April
