My fathers family lived on perked coffee. No other type would do. When I visited my grandparents for a few day each summer, my bed was on the second floor and the smell of perked coffee permeated the whole house. Funny thing though, as much as I loved the smell I never latched onto coffee as a beverage. My father always had a cup of coffee close at hand and I honestly never noticed if my Mom did or not. The rest of the family though lived on black coffee and cigarettes. I guess it's not surprising that none of them lived past their 60's. I like subtle coffee flavors, like Coffee Ice Cream and Tiramisu, I can't remember when the last time was that I drank a cup of coffee. Both of my children are just casual coffee drinkers socially. I have one grandson that is heavy into French Press, but he is the only one out of four.
