Three Things...Gratitude Thread

My Desk- I got one of those electronic desks for Christmas so I can stand or sit. It's really helped keep me a bit more active during the day.

Stanley- Using the bright orange one and she's filled with caffeinated Crystal Light lemonade.

Disney Art- I treated myself to a sketch when I was at Downtown Disney this summer. It's hanging right next to me. I never see ones that I like, but this one is everything I ever wanted. It's angry (totally furious) Donald Duck. He's not colored in, except for a red patch on the top of his head to symbolize his mood.

My Disney resort mugs from back in the day, when each resort had a specifically themed mug. I have them for POP, AllStars, Coronado Springs, PO-FrenchQuarter, and Animal Kingdom Lodge, all purchased at each resort.

My refrigerator. I LOVE my fridge. We have been in this house 21 years and the fridge that came with it was old and broken. It was a side by side, made by RCA in the late early 1990s. Shelves were broken, drawers didn't work. We decided to replace it about 3 years ago, set a budget, and went to Lowe's. We went a little over our budget (by $300) but got a fridge on clearance that, new, would have been $1600 over our budget. It's a great fridge, and if we ever move, it's going with us!

Home-canned jams and produce. My son-in-law's grandmother does home canning thru the fall and every Christmas gives them a big box of jams, jellies, corn relish, dilly beans, etc. DD and SIL lived with us for 3 Christmases, and he grandmother gifted US some of her lovely products each year. We don't eat a lot of jam but when/if we want it, we have plenty. Looking at the lovely colors reminds me of the kindness in her heart.

Waving good morning :grouphug:

God's blessing to me of sight period. My roommate and the man next-door don't have that gift.

The small bottle of Aquafina on my bed is a reminder what a blessing clean, accessible, water is.

Two Walmart bags on my floor that contain packages my friend (and former resident here) W received. He asked me to keep them safe for him until he gets here to pick them up. His friendship is definitely something I am most grateful to God for.

The keys on this phone that allow me to keep in touch with my beloved Dad and all of you, too.

Happy Thursday, everyone🌼

Evening all!

1. Bookshelf - while i love and appreciate my Kindle, I adore having physical copies of the books I love the most. I have a big bookcase full of them in my lounge, thats also complete with a few Lego sets, ornaments and ashes & keepsakes of my dearly departed cat Poppy. Its the item in my lounge that I feel most resembles me and my interests.

2. Electric blanket - while its not quite cold enough to plug it in yet, I am now using this most nights to keep a little warmer and really couldn't live without it.

3. Tablet - i have a Samsung tablet that I spend the majority of my time on when I'm at home, it's so much easier to browse the internet on it compared to using my phone or laptop. And fun to play games on and take away with me if needed.

It's a metal wall hanging that is a light fixture that has slots for light to beam

It's a relationship saver as there is no way to hang blinds for the newly installed vinyl window as a wall hutch is covering the stud

So it hangs on the window moulding and in 30 days summer arrives and we can take down the foam board that keeps out the heat and keeps it cool.... yes we installed insulated windows 😀 😀

My DH, napping on the couch because he had surgery today with anesthesia. Everything went well, for which I am very grateful.

My iPad. I don’t think I could deal with reading and typing on this site with my phone; just like I love reading on my Kindle app on my iPad better than on my phone. (But will do it if I have to)

All of my DGD’s toys and art supplies. Grateful every time she plays with them or creates something with all the art supplies. I know how fast this goes, so I am grateful every time she is here.

Today's Topic (Fri, 9/26) - 3 things you're grateful for that are filled, stuffed, etc. (can be food but doesn't have to be)

TGIF

#1 - STUFFED PIZZA - I’m grateful to live close to Chicago where the best stuffed pizza is located.

#2 - PIEROGIS - Yum, yum and yum! I love them all!

#3 - BUILD A BEAR CRITTERS - I have the most special memories of taking my girls there to make critters that they stuffed themselves with the help on an employee. I have some critters that I made for myself too - seasonal ones like Rudolph and Clarice.

Trader Joe's frozen gyoza/dumplings. Don't know which these specifically are but we always have several bags in the freezer. They are a lifesaver when work runs late and nobody can stand looking at yet another pizza or we've run out of leftovers... in fact, they might be tonight's supper!

DD32's teddy bear from when she was a tiny baby. Most of her "things" are packed away, but Teddy has a small hole and has been waiting for repair (for years). He's sitting in a ceramic vase on my bureau. I smile, remembering the early days when DD was so, so small, every time I see him.

DD gave me a heart shaped pillow for Valentine's day when she was 9 (8? 10?). It says "yours forever" and I'm sure was supposed to be a gift for a young man to give his sweetheart. However, she picked it out for me and I love it. It's now all pilled and thin, but it's still on my bed. It's perfect for tucking under my chin when I'm reading in bed.

Stuffed Animals 🧸- even as an adult I still enjoy stuffed animals they’re just so cute

Little stuffed appetizers - I swear you put anything in dough and fry it I’ll probably eat it 🤣🤣🤣

Pillows- I’ve really gotten into cute little pillows especially ones that are comfortable for my lower back so I like them that look cute and also wear functional

Good morning :)

Children's voices especially at Christmas filled with wonder and lifted in praise through song to God during worship services.

Minty and Benjy my two stuffed animals from childhood that are still with me. A special teddy bear named Billy I got my Dad for Father's Day a few years ago and a stuffed animal penguin I got for a friend to be gifted sometime this year either for her birthday or Christmas.

Faithful hearts filled with kindness and care that all of you so beautifully share.

I love so many of the food answers already shared so I am going to try and add some different ones to the mix.

1. Cannoli
2. Calzone
3. Spanikopita or Tiropita

Honorable Mentions
4. Filled cookies - Especially Linzer Tarts, Italian Sandwich cookies dipped in chocolate and sprinkles, Austrian Ischler cookies
5. Cakes - Give me a layer cake with fun fillings any day
6. Pies...both sweet and savory

OK, I have to stop with the food because I am now craving some really naughty treats!

On a non-food angle...Winnie the Pooh - Chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff!
