Three Things...Gratitude Thread

3 Nerdy Things:
1. Books! I love reading!
2. Puzzles- particularly jigsaw and SUDOKU.
3. Natural remedies. I love learning about herbs and how to use them to heal your body. We have some really great medicine that helps a lot of people, but some of the medicine has such horrible side effects that they cancel our the benefit.

Nerdy things? DH and I are both scientists, so we pretty much MAJOR in nerdy things!
I love math, as long as it's not calculus or trig, hahaha. I love balancing my checkbook, figuring out how to convert recipes or calculate tips or figure out tax rates. Math is a fun little puzzle for me.

Museums. DH and I love to go to museums, and we read all the displays and caption cards.

Date night: Usually on Sunday nights DH and I can be found at the local brewery for a beer... and a crossword puzzle. Yup, date night means doing the Sunday NYT crossword puzzle!

Leebee: I meant to congratulate your daughter yesterday! Love those proud Mom moments!

Nerdy:
I love looking things up. I am currently reading an historical fiction book and I keep looking up all the historical references to learn more about them.

Like leebee, I love reading all the info at a museum. I also love reading all the info in the WL lobby about the different kinds of rocks as well as reading all the info in the Stave Gallery in Norway. (Plus it’s nice to get out of the sun for a while in there)

After years of avoiding it, I am finally trying to learn how to play chess. I am not ready to play a real game yet, but I like having different lesson choices on DuoLingo now. (I’ve been playing Spanish for a long time)

Morning all!

My nerdy things are probably fairly standard, but for me the nerdy enjoyment comes from discussing them and talking about them with other people. Love nothing more than having a good nerdy debate about a film I've just seen!

1. Films
2. Books
3. Games - board or console

I'd also add Lego as a potential 4. Don't buy or own as many as I used to, but thats because I'd spend my entire wages on them if I could 😂

Nerdy things ~

another vote for both reading and math (gotta have balance, right!) I'm trying to bookend my day with reading right now, and I follow Howie Hua on Instagram for daily math puzzles/tricks/etc.

all things Harry Potter (My oldest niece introduced me to the books years ago, and I currently listen to a weekly podcast called Through the Griffin Door in which two brothers are analyzing every chapter of the whole series.)

the NYT games - I play Nerdle, Wordle, and Connections every day (as well as one that isn't from the Times called Ampersandi)

@leebee, I would have loved your post twice I could have!

3 things you're grateful for about Maryland (if that's your state or vacation spot or you just love stuff from there)

Inspired by waffles, 3 things you're grateful for with squares on them

The little PM envelope on here is sort of square shaped. Friendly messages found inside are so appreciated:)

By God's grace I walked a square all around this place on Friday morning with only 1 break. I pray to do likewise tomorrow when I work with my friend and therapist.

Sandwich Squares that my dad daily brings me for lunch.

When I was in high school I made a houndstooth check skirt. I wore it with either a neon orange shirt and a yellow and orange plastic link neck chain, or the same shirt in hot pink with a tourquoise/hot pink neck chain... and white go go boots. This was the early 70s and I was quite stylin'. I loved that skirt!

Patchwork quilts and an afghan, both sewed/knitted by my great-grandmother and grandmother. The quilts are too fragile to use anymore, but we still have them.

Waffles. I know, not creative at all, but I love a hot, crunchy, savory waffle. We have a near-by restaurant called "Peace, Love, and Waffles" and they make a huge variety of waffle dishes. It's awesomely delicious!

Look at the tread of the bottom of your shoe... that came from a waffle iron in Eugene Oregon garage...bowerman didn't like his track athletes wearing Taylor's or Goodrich or Converse...needed traction.... swoosh... Nike was invented... From the kitchen appliance....checked waffle iron 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇 🧇

Clouds... I don't get them often...so please don't judge me... they look checked

Southwest art is abundant
