I very rarely get anything through the mail, and if I do it tends to not be things I'm grateful for (council bill increases, speeding/parking fines etc )

1. Christmas/birthday cards - getting older and more digital has led to a reduction in cards being sent through traditional mail, but it's still nice to receive them when they arrive.

2. Online deliveries - the bulk of my mail tends to be made up of whatever things I've been ordering online. Usually stuff i dont need but enjoy nevertheless!

3. Refunds - doesn't happy too often but its always nice to receive unexpected refunds like on income tax, car tax etc.

Packages, Refund Checks, Vacation Catalogues from the old residents of this house... Hey, I can live vicariously through the advertised lavish trips that they likely used to take.

Coupons... every time these come in the mail I am grateful
Family Dollar has been feeding folks in living in poverty .. I know that doesn't make sense as it is a experience that cannot save money but in our massive community it is the only option if you don't have a car or folks to help you with Kroger shopping...many times folks on bikes.. scooters... walking with those wire baskets on wheels..or just plain walking are tasking to purchase food and... the surrounding neighborhood is the oldest of the 3... so 30 years has taken its toll and the neighborhood is in neglect and poverty ...in a couple of months a Arizona grocery chain is going to open and it's a expensive chain...a block away from the family Dollar store... making veggies available but everything else no cheaper than family Dollar


So I am grateful when this flyer arrives in the mail and at the end of the month I can receive a free gallon of milk when I purchase loaf of bread.. tater tots.. paper towels and Cheetos...5$ off 25$ purchase

After my parents passed away, I had their mail forwarded to my home and then just did a change of address. Instead of getting annoyed that the Metropolitan Opera is still trying to get my dad to re-subscribe, it makes me happy to see his name and the opera together on the envelope.

I love potatoes - I really do

#1 - POTATO PANCAKES - My DH makes really good ones.

#2 - POTATO & CHEESE PIEROGIS - These have just come up in my dinner rotation (meals are on a 3 month rotation). I grill a ham steak to have with the pierogis - yummy!

#3 - MY POTATO CASSEROLE - Many people call them funeral potatoes, which seems silly to me. This casserole is good everywhere. I wonder who started calling them funeral potatoes - I think it’s kinda weird - LOL!

I no longer eat potatoes. When I did three favorites were steak fries, mashed potatoes, and hash browns.

Three favorites ways that I do enjoy a chocolate treat are:

Great Value (Walmart) Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins.

Kroger Brand Chocolate Milk from Ralph's and Kroger Brand Dutch Milk Chocolate Hot Chocolate also from Ralph's.

On a healthier note my favorite two ways of enjoying apples are Sprouts Original Applesauce and thinly sliced light pink Fuji apples that are sweet. I have never liked apple juice.

First thing that came to mind was gnocchi. I don't eat it all the time because I want to eat waaaaay too much of it. Best I ever had was at a little place in Rome.

Vodka...yes, not all is made from potatoes but some is. One of my absolute (no pun there) favorite things is an extra dirty (like...absolutely filthy) vodka martini. So, I must thank the humble potato even though not all vodka is potato vodka.

Latkes - Yes, I know people make ones solely with zucchini, carrots, and/or sweet potatoes but I'm a traditionalist and like mine from russets. YUM!
