Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Andy Williams and the rat pack.
Happy memories of listening to them in the rexall drug store and local grocery store before chains. Grandma visiting..

So to my great pleasure someone in the neighborhood has hijack a frequency and broadcast the 60/70 instrumentals on my car radio 📻 📻 can't get it in the house...I always dreamed that in my retirement they would be the background of my aging... because the house station is playing 70/80 music with the tag line... every song a memory ...and that is so true... but it is depressing and at times I cry... life was so promising then

Disney songs. So many of them are emotionally connected to DD's childhood for me. Still cry, sometimes. pooh::smickey:

Christmas music, and to a lesser extent Easter hymns/hymns in general. I don't have a religious bone in my body, but my dad was the lead tenor in the choir at our church when I was a kid, and he'd been singing in choirs for years. Hymns were our lullabies, our car-travel songs. I can still hear him singing old favorites with his sister, the two of them in harmony, full volume, and everyone loving every minute of it. 🎄⛪

Scores (or individual pieces) from ballets. DD is a dancer, and I watched her perform for over 20 years now. Some music from when she was very young, some pieces from when she was a professional. Once again, all very emotional for me. 🩰💃

Playing, or singing, with other people. I did a lot of accompanying when I was in school. I had terrible stage fright for piano, (but not for singing, weird), and accompanying allowed me to be in the background and make the soloists look good.

So grateful that I was the perfect age for Beatlemania. And for a lot of other good music back then.

Grateful for almost every concert I’ve ever been to, from the NY Philharmonic to rock concerts. There used to be so much more live music at WDW, but I am still grateful for what they have.

Kind of continuing with the music theme, today is the birthday of:

So in honor of ukuleles and tiny bubbles...

Today's Topic (Wed, 8/13) - 3 tiny or miniature things you're grateful for

Well that brings back memories you say bubbles and I think of Lawrence walk🤣🤣

Tiny desserts here we go again little parfaits ❤️/ tiny cheesecakes / macaroons just little tiny desserts little samplings

Travel size items - make up or toiletries whatever I love the little tiny size items

Little serving dishes I like finding little serving dishes that way if you’re serving like a condiment or gravy or something like that everybody can have their own little individual dish it’s just to me it’s really kind of cute when you set a table and then everybody has their own little dish with their own little condiments I don’t do it often because you know it’s a lot of dishes to clean up but it looks cute every once in a while

Good Morning

#1 - MY PRECIOUS MOMENTS - I have over 200 of them. They are all very special to me.

#2 - BABY CLOTHES - I used to love shopping for baby clothes when my girls were itty bitties. I rarely bought things for me, because it was so fun buying for them. I saved my most favorite ones for grandchildren one day. Watch….DD21 will have all boys - LOL!

#3 - MY IPHONE - It’s a tiny computer that goes everywhere with me

Morning/Afternoon everyone!

1. Small stud or hoop earrings/jewellery - I love earrings of all types and styles but unfortunately allergies limit what I can wear, so I tend to just stick with small studs or hoops. Not flashy but so easy and practical.

2. Travel size toiletries - agree with WDWEPCOT on this one, these are a lifesaver for me when going on short trips.

3. My cat - technically she's not tiny when compared to other small/tiny things in general, but for a grown adult cat (18.5 years old) she is incredibly small and always has been, everyone who meets her always comments on her size. And she's even smaller at the moment as shes not very well, below is of her after a recent vets trip ☹️

Worry dolls- My worry dolls are about an inch long, maybe a tad shorter. Nice to have something to work/rub between pointer finger and thumb when trying to figure out something.

Demitasse set- I have my great grandmother's demitasse tea set. It's 8 tiny bone china cups with matching tiny saucers. We don't really use them, but it is nice to see them in the display cupboard and remember having tea parties with her (and my grandmother, and my mom, and finally with my DD and nieces).

Does anyone remember the tiny school pictures? I have a whole set of DD's. They are about an inch wide and an inch and a half tall. SOME day I'm going to figure out how display all 12 of them (well, 13 if you count kindergarten).

Puppies - Yes, I love a big dog once they're fully grown but there's something so sweet and irresistible about a little puppy. I could do without the messes and training, but they are so darn cute at that stage!

Dolphin Hoops - While I love all kinds of earrings, I moved back into my dolphin hoops earlier this summer and moved my studs to my second hole in each ear. I've had these hoops since high school and while they're not huge, they have a lot of pop because they're a more interesting design. I catch myself admiring them most times I look in the mirror.

Running Socks - Socks seem like such an small part of one's athletic ensemble, but having good socks is so important and is often just as critical as good shoes. I walk more than run, but I have a favorite kind of socks and they have helped keep me fairly blister free while adding some extra cushion and compression. They also wick away moisture and have some tech to help keep them from being super stinky.
