Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Seconding gingerbread and peppermint ice cream!

Also, "Mom's Shrimp Stuff" - an appetizer I make every year with cream cheese, tiny shrimp, and cocktail sauce. She preferred Triscuits, but I usually serve it with Town House crackers.

Thank you dear Slo! :grouphug: I would appreciate all of your extra, extra healing prayers. Agony right now so hard. I was doing better earlier today, too. Thank God I did sleep better last night. Dad and I are sure praying for a miracle healing for me before Christmas. If it is His will, I know it will be done. I pray to give thanks no matter what.

For me, my daily hot chocolate is a treat. It also tastes better this time of year :)
🍪
Dad enjoys in December Starbuck's Cranberry Bliss Bars.

Things in the Kitchen: -
I have an angled palette knife which is useful in various ways. It wasn't easy to find one, at the time, which makes me appreciate it even more.
A peninsular. I know islands are the current trend, but I like all the foot space, (I was going to say wiggle room, which is probably true when I have on some good music!! :dance3:), I get in the middle of the kitchen.
Deep drawers. They're so much more practical than cupboards. If I design a kitchen more from scratch, I'll have even fewer cupboards and more deep drawers.

Holiday Treats: -
Marzipan Fruits
Brie & Cranberry Filo Parcels
Stuffing & Cranberry
Pate
Peppermint Creams
Gianduiotti
...That's 3, I think! 😜

My Aunts house had deep wood draws she taught us how to climb on them when we were little to reach things - big heavy draws - nice feature in old kitchens they should bring back !!! You could store a lot of stuff in them and her kitchen was not huge !

I would assume dill dip and you tear the bread up & dip it in the dip - delicious!!! Your grocery store should sell bowls small or large of the bread - just my opinion but feel the dip is better homemade and it’s super easy !!

What kind of dip? Do anything special with bread?

We use a dill dip and do something similar to the picture below. Cube the bread and then after then part you cut out of the inside is gone, just start tearing from the sides. We buy ours from our town's local grocery store. They make it in store.

ok @newski_mom, I freely admit when I am clueless here on the boards and this is one of them. Here in the PNW we are big on the sourdough rounds for clam chowder and some other dips but not Rye rounds and dill. But remember I am a guy and may not be really observant when doing the grocery shopping.

I will do some more research and give this a go!

Good Saturday Morning!

#1 - I’m grateful for candles - I enjoy burning different scents that match the time of year we are in. I used to love Yankee Candle, but not anymore - I‘m now a fan of Bath & Bodies 3 wick candles.

#2 - I’m grateful for Gain original scent laundry detergent - I love how it makes our clothes and towels smell.

#3 - I’m grateful for my memories of how my babies smelled, especially after a bath - I‘ll never ever forget how wonderful they smelled.

PERFUME - I love perfume ! I’m grateful for all the scented soaps / lotions & body sprays!!

Bath & Body plug ins - I’m grateful for these -makes a room smell awesome !

Disney - all their scents from hotels to rides !
Scent is the #1 trigger for memories !!!

1. I love candles and like @slo, I have switched (mostly) from Yankee to Sonoma or Bath& Body. Both have tons of scents and I think they are comparable to Yankee. The only two Yankee ones I still love that I haven’t found a good duplicate for are Cherries on Snow (I like this in January and February) and Vanilla Lime (good anytime).
2. Fire pit burning
3. Christmas tree
