Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Monday Morning!

Since today is DD20s birthday, I’ll focus on that…..

#1 - I’m grateful for the crying belly laughs we share together - nobody makes me laugh harder

#2 - I’m grateful for our honesty with each other - I know she doesn’t tell me absolutely everything, but she’s way more honest with me than most people her age and I’m equally honest with her.

#3 - I’m grateful that she genuinely enjoys spending time with me/us - we have the best family time together.

I am grateful to be off this week so I can catch up on things around the house that I have 100000% been avoiding 🤣

Being able to drink coffee peacefully at my own pace(not guzzle it down and run out the door lol)

That football has started up and school will start soon for my son…he thrives on schedules and it’s great to get back in the swing of things again

In light of our current heat wave I am grateful for
Air conditioning
Electricity to run the air conditioning that is running nonstop🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊
The Canadian cold front is headed our way this weekend🙏🙏🙏🙏 I just wish it was coming sooner so then will be down in the low 90s
For full disclosure I’m only grateful for Canadian weather in the summer nothing personal Canada it’s just my personal dislike for❄️❄️❄️ But you’re more than welcome to it ❄️❄️❄️

I'm grateful for catching the stop light "right" on the way to work this morning. I was running late and I hit it perfectly! Made me smile!

I'm grateful that some meetings are back to in person at work. I have an out of the office meeting tomorrow and it's sometimes good to break up the routine of work. I enjoy getting to meet with people who do the similar jobs to try to make things better for everyone. I'm looking forward to it!

I'm grateful for my clean desk! I typically keep a rather messy desk, but at the end of last week, I had some time, so really organized everything. I'm enjoying it so far and hope to keep it up!

Good Morning :grouphug:

Extra grateful this morning for all of you! Thank you all for your extra prayers, love, and concern yesterday. Dad and I thanks to God, are just fine, all is dry today, Nor more earthquakes either! That was sure unexpected yesterday! Yikes.

Beyond thankful to God also for safety in any storm outside or inside my heart. He is my Anchor and Refuge forever, Yesterday was a humble reminder to me of that. Such an added blessing of course to have all of you and my beloved dad in my life.

New day, new joys, and new opportunity i pray to make a kind faithful difference to someone.

Good📚I sure enjoyed extra reading yesterday. What a blessing being able to read is and also enjoying doing so!

Have a beautiful Monday friends with love.

I'm getting back in house decluttering mode and there's an upcoming online conference next month for extra inspiration. 🏡

On that note... the lovely feeling of space in areas that have been decluttered and reorganized. I feel it on physical/mental/emotional levels. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️

Completely separately, I was just thinking, the other day, how grateful I am that I was brought up with theater and the arts as a pretty big part of my life. 🎭

I'm having trouble with this. There's some bad stuff happening here at home that I am not at liberty to share, but it's costing everyone in sleep, peace of mind, and emotional fortitude. It will all resolve, but it's just a lot to deal with.
Right now, I guess I am grateful that you guys are all here on this thread, and on these boards, giving me "someplace" safe to go when my mind and heart need a break.

I'm also grateful that my knee is healing, be it somewhat slowly. Last time DH had knee surgery it got grossly infected. He almost lost his leg, and spent 7 weeks in a nursing home, hooked up to IV antibiotics around the clock, with his leg elevated to insure the transplant and skin grafts held. So there's that.

As always, I am grateful that DH and I have good jobs with spectacular benefits, so even though I am out on sick leave, our income is solid. We can keep the roof over everyone's heads and food on the table. Not everybody has that kind of security.

We're with you. :grouphug:

I've had some trying times lately and, some days, just remembering this thread, rather than feeling I had to post here, was enough.

(Mon, 8/21) - any 3 things you're grateful for
1. That I had SO much fun with the "Bikes and Boats" events this summer, through my local adaptive sports organization. Twice I did the full short loop around the lake, which is 3.74 miles.
2. For the celebration of all the summer kids' ministries at my church yesterday (Sunday). Every so often, they did a "Kids and Family Worship" instead of kids worship, and this Sunday it was to celebrate all the summer ministries, including the musical I helped with.
3. Going to have to go with @WDWEPCOT with air conditioning, because it's just bad here this week... upper 90s with dew point in the upper 70s. You can basically feel the air right now.

1. Thankful that my girls are all in a good place as the school year starts back up. I have one just starting graduate school, a sophomore in college and a junior in high school.
2. We had a fun evening with friends on Saturday evening. They were neighbors for years, but moved probably 10 years ago and we get together a few times a year. I really enjoy both of them and that doesn’t always happen with couples.
3. DH and I got a lot accomplished at the office today. We work together, but are usually working on different things. Today was a joint effort and we made a lot of progress.

My three from yesterday (as we ended up having company and I forgot to pop back on) -

That DH's parents live close enough to come over, and that they're still very active

That my cats are doing well, and that we're getting into a routine with their new food

That DS has today off work
