Three Things...Gratitude Thread

(Mon, 8/14) - 3 multi-colored things you're grateful for
So... I think rainbows is a given since that was the inspiration for this topic and I just used that yesterday, so I'm going to come up with three others.
1. Christmas lights!
2. Flags
3. Just... nature!
Also, I think the timing of this is interesting. I decided to do a re-read of The Giver, since I couldn't make it to the library in time to get a new book. If you're read The Giver you should know the connection.

(Tues, 8/15) - 3 things you can see right now that you're grateful for
1. My computer
2. My Bible
3. My books

Happy Hump Day! 🐪

I loved my house from the minute I walked through the front door to look at it.

#1 - I’m grateful for the location of my house - on a dead end with a forest as our east neighbor - it’s quiet and no traffic - I love it!

#2 - I’m grateful for the fact it’s a quad level - when we all lived here (4 of us) and it was a rough day, I’d tell everyone to find level and go to it - my DH would go to the basement, my DD25 would go upstairs to her room, my DD19 would go to the family room (3rd level) and I’d go read in the living room (main level). Everyone could get out of each other’s hair.

#3 - I’m grateful for my dining room - many feel like it’s a waste of space, but we do use our dining room all the time. We host every holiday and family get together, so it’s good for that and it’s where I work on my large puzzles. Now that DD19 has returned to school, I’ll be starting my new puzzle sometime this month.

I love my house 🏡🏡
I love the open floor plan my other house had one and I don’t think I could live in a house it doesn’t
I love the high ceilings of course being short all ceiling seem extremely high🤣🤣
I love having a master bedroom bathroom that is my number one favorite thing
I love the super huge closets I now have their like their own separate rooms❤️❤️
I finally have a decent size kitchen and now I don’t even feel like cooking anymore but I have a nice big kitchen in case I do
I love my neighborhood and I have extremely nice neighbors
And I cannot forget to mention all those pesky deer 🦌 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌

I second fall colors, tie-dye shirts, and crayons!
Me, too! I also second sweet peppers, art, butterflies (more around the garden this year), gummies and M&Ms! ETA: And Christmas lights! Good one!

3 Things I could see in front of me yesterday that I appreciate(d): -
My friends and their gorgeous dog.
Their beautiful garden and pool.
My car that enabled me to drive all the way to spend time with them. (It w as a long day and I'm shattered, but it was worth it!)

Today, my home: -
Open windows and gentle breeze flowing through.
Lots of windows = lots of light.
Plenty of space.
The wraparound plot that makes the outside feel like home as much as the inside.

God is here in this place and everywhere always with dad and I.

Blessing of having a home period let alone one that is clean, safe, and has necessities, filled with care and love.

Dad to go through day to day life from. Family and friends including all of you!

Joy I pray of being able to pray, give thanks, witness, grow to and with my Jesus right here in this space.

We are conviently located.

Today's Topic (Wed, 8/16) - 3 things you're grateful for about your house/apartment/etc.
Gosh, I really love our retirement house, it’s in Cape May, which is an Atlantic Ocean Beach resort and it is a Tree City, which means it has many beautiful old trees unlike many nearby NJ shore towns. I am grateful that we bought it with my sister in 1998. It’s a quad, meaning four units in one building. It’s not a condo, we own the property.

When we moved here from Ohio, I needed a pond to be put in, because in Ohio we had a pond that had 6-7 fish, and they needed a home. This pond is larger and at least 5 of the fish from Ohio are still with us. I am grateful for our pond.

Finally, it’s not a large house, but it suits us well. Tom uses the loft as his “man cave.” ( thankfully many of my plants have a home there as it has a skylight, so not really a cave!) I have one bedroom as my reading room. Luckily, since we only have two sides with windows, this room has a window that has an exposure suitable for my orchids, and other plants.
