Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Conveniences

1. Stepping on the time machine here, but due to some health reasons I couldn't breastfeed my daughter. It cost a fortune, but we bought the Similac pre-made formula bottles. Shake and go. I never had to make a bottle. I'm sure that makes me lazy, but it was fantastic.

2. Echoing online shopping/delivery/pickup. I haven't stepped foot in a Walmart in several years. DoorDash, Amazon and Walmart + are my friends.

3. Being in the city close to everything. We lived on 5 acres in the country in TN and now live in the heart of everything. I'm all about urban versus rural lol.

Conveniences:

1. Grocery pickup - Our town doesn't have door dash, etc, so I only occasionally use it if a location offers pickup, but I fully embrace the grocery pickup!

2. Garbage disposals - Use it after every meal!

3. Automatic door locks and windows - so much easier unlocking all doors at once - I'm old enough to remember having to reach around to unlock all of the doors!

Gray or black things:

1. My Highlander is gray—favorite car ever. I love the height of it—my husband’s truck is high and I have to pull myself up to get in it, the kids’ cars are low—feel like I’m sitting on the ground, my car is just right. Rides smooth, handles nice and it’s a 2013 with very few maintenance issues.

I love our highlander too! Mine is a 2015 with 135,000 miles on it and like you, we've had very few issues with it. Next time I buy a car, I really won't need the third row seating, but I hate to go away from a highlander!

Conveniences . . .

Internet - for almost everything from travel arrangements, to shopping, to entertainment, to paying bills

My countertop convection oven - the one I had for ten years died about a month ago. I knew I used it a lot, but didn’t realize how much I relied on it until it was gone. The replacement arrived about a week ago. I hate heating up the house with the big oven just to bake a couple hot dogs and some fries.

Indoor plumbing, especially bathrooms - there’s a reason it used to be called The Convenience

🙏💕SLO! So many prayers this message finds today a whole lot healthier and brighter for your daughter! Thank you to WDWEPCOT and everyone who chose to do so coming together to pray for our friend, Slo. We truly are blessed to have a special group of friends in this thread:grouphug:to each of you.

Conveniences for me start with thanking God for His mercy to me and my dad that neither of us need assistance with everyday mobility and that we also have as others have you have said plumbing and a roof. We don't have safe to use heating so it can get cold in here but how blessed we are to have a shelter period.

Definitely online 🖥️shopping which allows us to do budget easier and get what we are able to from the safety of home.

We've now used Boost through Ralphs a few times thanks to Free Trials. What a blessing to have cases of Aquafina delivered and kindly brought inside for us. FYI to anyone considering using Boost is a reminder to check "no substitutions," initially and then verify before you go to check out that each item still has this box checked beside it.

Coinstar Machines that allow for quick and safer, more sanitary these days, even though I literally use a disinfecting wipe on all money dad brings home from in change from stores, coin counting in exchange for free e-gift certificates that we typically use on Amazon. To us, the coins are very much a blessing in helping to save.

Absolutely the internet and the blessing from God of being able to use it daily to I pray spread faith, friendship, smiles, and kind cheer and offer care and support to all of you:hug:

Petrol lawnmower; cordless vacuum; laptop... I appreciate the freedom of movement!

Remote control for the TV... I appreciate not having to move to change channels!! (Unless someone else has the remote and I have to fight them for it! :rotfl:)

Vegetable peeler... so much easier than a knife.

I'm also grateful for pay-at-the-pump gas, because I don't have to know in advance how much I need.
That's something I take for granted over here, but it is much easier, isn't it?

Oh, me, too! I'd love a place in each.

I hope you're well, eksmama?
Huge fan of indoor plumbing !!!❤️❤️❤️
YES! Best thing!

I just watched some kids from Uganda dancing on TV (they were awesome, btw) and there was a short video showing the very basic orphanage where they live and they were talking about being one happy family. Honestly, they reminded me what's important and all I have to appreciate. It's so easy to take our comforts and conveniences for granted, isn't it? It also reminded me that I missed this thread and all of you.

I'm ok. My preop CT is Apr 25, upper GI May 18, and next surgery May 23. Will be in the hospital at least a week :(

But, I feel FINE! LOL I'm most worried about the CT because it is of chest and upper/lower abdomen. I'm worried it will show something ELSE is wrong!

Thank you for asking. Sorry, that was a long answer :D

Fun side note! We have an impromptu WDW trip in early May now. Figured we'd better go before all this kicks in. Still planning on the big trip Nov/Dec, but this is just in case!

That wasn't a long answer at all! I actually thought it was very succinct! :D

I'll be thinking about you and sending you such positivity. (Is that a word? ...You know what I mean. :flower3:)

Ooh, you have a trip coming up! Where are you staying? What's the plan? Let us live vicariously through your vacation. :mickeyjum

It is a whirlwind trip. Drive down from VA on a Tuesday and home on the Friday! Staying at the YC CL which is my favorite. Somehow I managed to get a private EPCOT fireworks cruise at only 3 weeks out! And finally,, we were gifted AMAZING tickets by a DIS friend. It restored my faith in mankind HA HA! I've definitely made some incredible friends on here - you ladies included!!

I hope you have a fabulous time !!! Don’t worry about the scan - if something is there it’s there but I bet nothing is there - you worrying won’t change it so let’s all be positive what’s supposed to be there is there and nothing else !! 👍🙏
Now I know that’s much easier to say than do but you can’t change stuff now so start telling yourself it is what it is every time you worry / we are all praying for you too !!
Thank God it’s not MRI those machines are so dang loud but sorry it’s GI those test suck !! Could always be worse - so there is that - good luck !!! I hope the trip is fabulous !!!! Great hotel & firework cruise !!! Awesome !!!🎇🎆🧨

:grouphug:🙏with extra care and love, Eksmama. You are a lovely lady and we all care. Amen to what our kind friend WDWEPCOT said. Have FUN trip.

Welcome back, Tinkosophy and thank you as well for your kind words to our friend Eksmama. I like your positivity word. It reminds me pooh:. Didn't he or was it :tigger:say "abolutely posit-tootly," or something like that?

Have a good night rest everyone :)

Yes positivity that’s my new theme ! I just got this daily book 3 min positivity - it has 3 things you’re grateful for daily 🤣🤣🤣 - how cute is that ?? I have to think of 3 all on my own - no subjects listing ! I like our way better - makes you ponder things !! I may assign myself daily listings

Mine is a 2013 with almost 144,000. It’s been a great vehicle for us. I am thinking I might downsize a bit next time with maybe a RAV4 as my kids will be mostly launched by then and I also won’t normally need a third row, but I do love my Highlander. I will probably hold onto it until the repairs start being annoying and expensive and I still feel a long ways from that.
