Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Aw, thanks everyone. Always glad to help grow our friendships on here and thank you all always for being so kind :grouphug:
1960's was before my time but I'll give this a try :)

1 Thanks to Mumto3girls, this apartment building was built in 1960. It's not always ideal but how beyond blessed dad and I are to have a safe shelter and with each other in health. No complaints only gratitude to God.

2 Beverly Cleary children's books such as Ribsy and Henry and the Clubhouse.
3 Dad enjoyed his time in NY back then.

Fun topic!

1. DH was born in the 60s
2. I looked up things from the 60s and learned a lot - soft contacts came about in the 60s and I'm very grateful for them. I've worn them since I was 18
3. Bubble wrap - I occasionally sell things on Ebay and I always use bubble wrap to cushion the packages

A challenge for a Monday morning - I like it!

I’m a 70s baby so I had to Google this topic.

#1 - I’m grateful for my Barbies - my best friend and I played countless hours with our Barbies.

#2 - I’m grateful for The Flintstones - one of my favorites and I still reference to this cartoon today when I tell DD19 that her tiny feet are like Wilma Flintstone feet - LOL!

#3 - I’m grateful for Walt Disney deciding to build WDW - thank you Walt for your vision to build a place that has given us so many wonderful memories.

Count me in to those who turned to Google this morning :)

I did love the Flintstones, Slo and the Jetsons back in the 70's and 80's, too.

Editing to ask a fun question if it also bothered/bugged any of you that the Flintstones never wore shoes! I know this was prehistoric times bit especially given her necklace, I would think Wilma would wear shoes or maybe her feet were too tiny to find/make any and likewise with Fred and bigger feet? Sort of like the Smurfs never wearing shirts. I hope this brought each of you an extra smile to read.

Bubble wrap, so handy! I have a big roll in a closet that I last used to wrap up my Nativity set figurines. I just wish it were easier to cut.

I hope this finds each of you having a good afternoon :)

Good Tuesday morning!

#1 - I’m grateful during this Holy Week, and every day, for Jesus Christ ✝️❤️

#2 - I’m grateful for chocolate 🍫

#3 - I’m grateful for my children - the most wonderful gifts ever given to me from God ❤️

CH things I am grateful for:

1) The ability to Chill when I need to, ie relax. I am good at meditation and mindfulness and things like that.

2) I was talking to DD this morning about beginning new Chapters in our life, and how we can look back over our lives and enjoy, or at least maybe appreciate, the different stages we went through. (She had a breakup.)

3) I am a Chime in person, and I’m grateful for my ability to do so. If I can help someone with info, I will chime in.

Sorry I missed the 1960s yesterday, I was born in the 60s and there’s a lot from that decade that I still appreciate; same with DH.

1) Friends from the 60s. I just sent an old picture that a friend sent me to my sibling and we were trying to figure out who everyone was. I was wearing a scarf on my head like Jackie Kennedy, and so was another girl, those were apparently big with our mothers at that time!

2) I really loved my Arrow sled, everyone had them and we spent all day sledding down the street in the winter. I don’t want to think about the hazards 😳 but we sure had a lot of fun and I was never hurt sledding (although maybe I went under a car or two here and there!)

3) I’ll add popular music and TV shows. Music goes without saying. We all had the big stereo cabinets then sometimes with the record players built in. I sometimes see them in thrift stores and feel like buying one for old time‘s sake. One I heard had really nice sound, but the store was keeping it for themselves, ie not for sale. As for shows I remember coming home from school and watching Dark Shadows, Kimba the White Lion (which I think was a precursor to Simba from the Lion King), Speed Racer, and of course the Saturday morning classic cartoons. As I tell my kids, we only had three or four channels on the TV and you had to actually get up to change the channel manually, lol. No remotes. And everyone knew the shows because that’s all there was. In many ways a much simpler time - that I appreciate now.

I'm a 70s baby, but I remember those big tv consoles. We had one that had the tv and stereo all in one lol! And I always joked that I was the family's remote control lol!
