Three Things...Gratitude Thread

:beach:for sure and especially memories of time spent years ago at Moonstone Beach in Northern, CA. I always felt extra close to God and His Presence with me there. I have never really been other than as a kid sort of to Ports of Call out here, long since changed, to a touristy beach community. Doing so does sound like fun through books and HGTV shows such as Beach Hunters.

Memories, albeit vague now, of going to Yosemite with my dad and friends as well. Back in 2007 and 2008, dad and I got to see some spectacular waterfalls in OR and WA State.

Quiet peace of our small chapel at church.

Beautiful places . . .

Our national parks, too many beautiful ones to pick just one

Standing on the top of the Contemporary Resort, looking out over MK and Seven Seas Lagoon as the sun sets and the lights come on

Okay, I will say it too . . . the Beach. Not just any beach, but the ones where the water is that clear blue, the sand is snowy white, and the palm trees sway in the breeze. Just give me a hammock and I am happy!

:offtopic: Something that doesn’t make me smile….

It’s June 16th and I just put the heat on in my house - it was 64 degrees in here when I came home for lunch.

Sorry - just had to share….carry on - LOL!

Beautiful relaxing spaces…

1. Our backyard with old stone water fountain feature.
2. Favorite spot along the lake that overlooks our city with hiking trail to the old coast guard station…just watching sunsets, boaters, people fishing, birds, etc.
3. Our local metropark system…hiking and meandering the many trails.

Regarding temperature..it’s 68° here in Cape May. We haven’t had the ac on at all this year yet. Bad thunderstorms came through about 2 hours ago. Only lost power and cable for a few minutes.

Our pond has a waterfall, fish and beautiful plants. I often say my morning prayers out there. A few days ago, I took this picture. Birds often bathe in the water!

I also like to relax looking at either the harbor or the ocean. I bike ride to either area and just take it all in.

Well, I have to say cruising and watching the ocean go by is very relaxing. There I often see flying fish.

I am very grateful for these things.

Happy Saturday

#1 - I’m grateful to come home to my DH and DD19 - seeing them home safe and healthy makes me incredibly grateful

#2 - I’m grateful to come home to food in my kitchen to make dinner - i always feel blessed for the food we eat

#3 - I’m grateful to come home to my home - I love our house from the first minute we walked into it to look at it. We looked at lots of houses in 2004 and when we walked into this house I told me DH - this is the one and 19 years later, we are still here.

#4 - Bonus - I’m grateful to come home to privacy - we live at the end of a dead end street with a forest next to us. The way our house is built, we can’t see the street or neighbors on our front porch. Even though I love our neighbors, it’s nice to sit on the front porch and have total privacy, and many times when I sit there, I have my deer friends that I can watch - it’s very peaceful.

Relaxing Things...

1. Rocky Gap State Park (western Maryland) - I went for the first time in May for the casino and fell in love with the lake. I went back two weeks ago and have reservations for next month.

2. My Parent's Cabin - The view from the front porch is incredible. They own 55+ acres, mostly wooded.

3. Waking up, realizing it is Saturday (or any non-work day) and just laying there.

Coming Home To...

1. My parents. Lucky to still have them and glad they are living with me.

2. Dart Board. Haven't played in a little while but it is an easy escape.

3. YouTube. Seriously. I love sitting down to watch a video and just knowing an hour from now I'll be watching some random video and have no idea how I got to it. Like, putting on a baseball video and 30 minutes later you're watching cats playing with string.
