On our last trip, we wound up not using all our table service credits due to schedule (just happened!). We just figured it was gone. Upon talking with a friend later, she told me they had the same situation, but that they were allowed to choose three snacks for a table service credit, and brought a bunch of snacks home. Is this correct?
Thanks!

Different people will have different experiences, but we were told the samne thing in Sept 2010.

In 2009 we stayed at Wilderness Lodge and we ended up with 10 counter service meals leftover. We asked at the store and were told that we could not trade them for snacks by the store CM's and CM's at the front desk. I thought later that I should have gone to Roaring Forks and asked there. They only had limited packaged snacks there though. In December 2010 we stayed at Beach Club and at the Beach Club Marketplace they seemed to have more snack choices.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on the CM, the location, how nice you are, what mood everyone is in, the phase of the moon, and if Goofy remembered to call his mom on her birthday.

Okay, I was kidding about the phase of the moon part.

Seriously though, sometimes they will allow you to do this and sometimes they won't. People seem to have better luck at the resort food courts then at places in the park. You really don't know unless you ask.

We've been able to use TS credits for CS meals once - and only because the manager was there on the floor at the food court of our resort and she agreed to override it.

I always laugh because the kids were 2 & 3 during that trip (2005), we were on our last day of an 8 day trip, and DD2 was having the meltdown of all meltdowns waiting for me to get through the line. I got up to the register, told her we didn't have any CS credits left, but had a few TS credits left instead. I informed her I didn't want to expose any patrons of the sitdown meals to that (point to DH and kids). She offered to use the credits...I didn't even have to ask. I'm sure they just wanted to get us out of there, too. :)

However, we weren't able to do it on our last trip. I think it totally depends on where you are, who you talk to, and the time of the day. There are no hard and fast rules.

:lmao: That is so funny yet so very true!

We've been going every Sept. for the last 4 years, and every time we've been able to do this. We've been able to exchange the following:

1 TS=1 CS
1 CS= 3 snacks

We've only ever tried to do this at our resort food court/cs place, but we've never had a problem. We've done this at Pop/ASMo and Contemporary with no problems many many times.

We've been able to exchange the following:

1 TS=1 CS
1 CS= 3 snacks

I suppose if circumstances require such then its better than losing the credits. I would have trouble paying for DDP and trading down as a lot of the savings of using the DDP are lost and OOP maybe a better option.

Thanks for all the replies! If the same problem comes up again, I'll at least ask. Doesn't hurt to try!

And the credits we lost, were on free dining, so no real big deal for us. It's more the idea that we could have brought some snacks on the train ride home. I could have had a dozen white chocolate macademia nut cookies to munch on!!! :lmao::lmao:

When we were there in December we were on the DxDP and had 6 meal credits left at check out. I went to the food court and asked if they could be traded for snacks (read about exchange here in the dis). Cashier said yep 3 snacks per meal credit. Came home with 18 Mickey rice krispies.

Add Mara at AKL as another CS place that will gladly exchange a CS in place of a TS meal and will offer 3 snacks per any leftover TS credits. On our last trip we really only desired a small meal one day at lunch so we exchanged 2 TS for 2 CS. And we had 1 TS left at the end so we also selected 3 Mickey Rice Crispie bars to bring home (along with a ton of other sweets purchased during the week with snack credits.) I've done the math, we still saved almost $300 by getting the DxDP over what all that food would have cost out of pocket. However, we did allow a fair amount of food to be cleared from the table without finishing (and still managed to gain weight.)
