Well....I must admit that my rant on another thread shows my true passionate hate, but I also hate putting things together....especially when the holes don't line up right.

none of those words concern me or DH at all, my problem is all the twistie ties that hold everything together!!!

I agree that those ties are evil too. I just always groan when I see how much stuff I have to put together. Dora's Castles, scooters, bikes, assorted playsets...

Oh well, Christmas is only once a year

UGH about the ties and putting the toys together..lol We got DD the Ariel talking kitchen..box reads some assembly required...ha ha 1 hour later i was still putting it togther..it was a PIA!!!

I still haven't gotten some gifts in the mail, and seriously, do that many people order deli trays? I took a number at the deli on Christmas Eve, #98... when I looked at the number they were on it said 65. Seriously.

I've delayed putting together a kitchen set as long as possible. I guess I'll have to do it today, or watch my DD play with pretend food on the couch some more!

please be careful.

this is one reason why my brother decided that there was no SC. He could put together anything - even when he was 6.

so when his Christmas present from SC were always put together wrong - well he figured it out pretty quickly. Daddy tried. But putting anything together was not one of his talents.

my brother had to redo most of it. when he had to totalled take apart his bike and put it back together - he mentioned that it nice of SC to leave the instructions.....

I was so glad when dd got out of Barbies- those things are torture to get out! I think the makers of those have a sick sense of humor.

Talking about barbies! I got the biggest laugh out of watching my husband (who has never taken a barbie out of the package before) try to take the little mermaid doll out of the package! Oh my gosh it was so funny watching him yell at the tie around the hair! I coulnd't help I was laughing so hard!

I believe that half of the cost of the toys comes from the tie things.

A couple Christmas' ago I got my dad this stool/seat thing. It was not fun putting together. It had pieces listed that weren't in the box.

Also... why must they sew the hair of certain toys INTO the plastic? Are the toys planning an escape?

Oh I totally agree! What takes someone 1 hour to assemble would take me a minimum of 3-4 no kidding! I had Toys R Us assemble DS Step2 Dream Kitchen - the best $10 I ever spent.

Last year I was better organized and had everything removed and assembeled before it was wrapped. This year I got some of it done but in retrospect wish I had taken the time to do all of it. Everything that gets done ahead of Christmas makes Christmas day happier for everyone!

Another hint: Use wire cutters to cut the twist ties instead of actually untwisting them.

A "gift tool" that has the cutters for the twisty things and a teeny-tiny magnetic screwdriver to fit into the teeny tiny screws to put in the never-included batteries.
Kind of like a Santa swiss army tool.
Any inventors out there???

I am so sick of the twisty things and how stuck toys are in the boxes...but I find humor in the fact I bought broken lightbulbs today and two eggs broke on my way home!!
BUT none of the toys escaped from the box or budged!!
