Three meals a day?

We did the QS plan last fall and two QS meals a day was plenty. I would say there are some that offer more value than others but if you plan ahead you'll be more than fine. We ending up eating at Pecos Bill's twice because of the awesome salsa bar. A fajita meal there is totally split-able since it's kind of build-your-own style. If you aren't a huge breakfast eater and can live on a bagel and cream cheese or a muffin until lunch you'll be set with a full QS for lunch and then dinner.

We just came back 3 weeks ago and we decided if we were to go back, we would not get meal plan (at minimum, not get QS meals for everyone).

Because we are big eaters, we thought we can eat 2 QS and snacks each day with no problem. WRONG! Most of place gave BIG portions and could have easily shared between 2 adults especially if you substitute dessert or drink so another side/soup etc.

On the day we ate breakfast at our resort, we were too full to eat lunch and we end up eating late.

We hardly used snacks credits because we were too full (only time we used snacks is because we wanted to try food at Flower and Garden at Epcot and MUST eat snacks listed here but we shared).

We had so much snacks left over we bought alot of candy bags to bring over at our last day.

While I feel that the meals are good sized, I wouldn't be OK with just eating 2 meals a day. However, add in a snack or two and/or breakfast at the room and it should not be a problem at all. We bring things like breakfast bars, fruit, ect for breakfast and have no problem using the credits for lunch & dinner. Also, there are 3 of us so we will often split two meals and if we are on the QSDP that saves us a credit that we can use or breakfast. We stayed at Pop Century last time and were able to get a Bounty Platter (Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Potato Casserole, French Waffles, and Buttermilk Biscuit) and a create your own Yogurt Parfait (in place of the drink) for one QS credit. DS ate the biscuit and sausage, DH age the yogurt and potatoes, and I ate the 2 small waffles with bacon and eggs. While not stuffed like we would have been at a sit down restaurant we were all full enough to tide us over until lunch.

If your family normally has 3 full meals a day, and snacks - then Disney is no different. But if you don't eat breakfast, have a power/protein bar for lunch and then salad or lite meal for dinner you might be okay..

There are a lot of entrée at QS you can share easily, there is a thread with lots of suggestions

You can do sit downs, and just order appetizer - for instance DH and I can order the Beef Lava Nachos at Rainforest 18.99 and there is also a Appetizer Adventure for 18.99 that we have done, or if DD and SIL and my sweet DGS( 15 months) are with us we do both. We grab dessert later on at Ghirardelli. There are lots of places you can go with appetizer platters.

Check out allears for current menus and price points. This will give you some idea of what's offered.

Think out side the norm when eating at WDW..

I wouldn't hate on cosmic rays too much. Last summer my friend and I shared a half chicken meal at cosmic rays. It was good and was plenty of food for 2 people.

Touché. The chicken is the very best thing there...and what I usually get.
Heavens, I sound like a old-codger when saying that I really think the overall quality has gone down there over the past 20 years. We ate there a few days after Christmas. First time I thought it was bad. I know busy...but the food was cold. And, it didn't appear that anyone was keeping the germ, er, condiment bar cleaned, refilled and organized in a timely manner. Just other places we like much better.

I need three meals a day. Especially if going when it's hot. Sometimes a meal could be a snack credit (cream cheese pretzel, cinnamon roll etc). But I definitely need something more filling than a Mickey bar.

We eat three meals a day at home. Granted, breakfast is often a yogurt or a bowl of cereal.

But lunch is always a full lunch, similar to quick service but sometimes close to table service. And dinner is also a full meal, and similar to table service.

While on vacation we also eat dessert as often as we can.

Last time we had free dining , with the regular plan. We had peanut butter sandwiches in the room in the morning, usually a sit-down large lunch, and then a smaller dinner. Sometimes the large lunch held us over the rest of the day (we had desserts with those lunches that probably helped keep us fuller longer). This year we have free dining, but the QS dining, so no free table meals. Still planning for the small in-room breakfasts, and hoping the 2 QS meals and snacks will be enough for a day. I think we will be plenty full.
