We are planning on doing mostly QS this trip (leaving in 11 days!!). I haven't really eaten a lot of QS in the past so I'm not sure about portions. For those of you who have, are the portions nice? I am wondering if we will be having to eat 3 meals a day or if you spread it out right could 2 fill you up? We had Deluxe Dining last trip and we were sooooooo full we were miserable. We are trying something way different this time lol.

Disney have big portions everywhere. We bring our bread and peanut butter for breakfast and just eat toasts in the morning if We are hungry. 1 Time per trip We share a bounty platter in the morning, this thing is huge!

There is a difference between DxDDP and QS, you really cannot compare. With that said, I am not sure two QS meals would be enough, but you could consider splitting meals at breakfast and lunch at many of the QS restaurants. My family tends to eat three times per day, but split at one or two. Fo us, it is better to leave less full and eat again readhe than eat so much to hold us over all day til dinner.

We used the regular DDP (1 QS, 1 TS, 1 snack) last time and had about 7 snacks we hadn't used by the end of the trip (out of the 24 snacks for our 8 night trip). We did two TS breakfasts, but all other breakfasts were just room breakfasts (Larabars, bread/peanut butter, Stella D'Oro breakfast cookies). We always had food leftover at our QS meals (mostly salads...which are enormous!).

We have done QS. WE had a couple of times where we split a meal for breakfast and lunch and had a full meal for dinner. Or we would have a full breakfast and full dinner and a snack for lunch.

What does "nice" mean to you?
We (3adults) woulD NOT be satisfied sharing most meals QS meals. We eat breakfast in the room, each with a QS lunch & each with a TS dinner

Good Luck

We typically have a full, sit-down breakfast, have a snack instead of lunch, then another full, sit-down dinner. The portions are so generous at Disney, and we're so busy throughout the day, that it works for us like a charm.

My dd and ddil and dgd vacationed with the QS plan several years ago. They booked one or two ts meals and going that it was plenty. They were there for f&w and had two snacks apiece back then, and found it was plenty.

If I traveled with my dgd I would do the same. With my entire crew? It would not work for us. Well I mean me, and they do tell me it's all about me on family vacation! lol!

We always do the deluxe dining bc we don't really care if there is food left on our plate or if we order a desert or an app each time, lol...we just like the idea of being able to order what we feel like. With that being said I am not sure you can compare QS to TS. I think in your situation, since you felt like the 3 meals a day was too much, I would maybe do a snack for breakfast (like starbucks or something) then QS for lunch and a TS meal for dinner. I don't think 2 QS meals are going to be filling enough for the whole day. Thats just my opinion.

We usually go during free dining and since we stay at value pay to upgrade to the DDP. However, one year we just went with the QS plan. We (me & DH) would either split a breakfast platter or split a bagel and use our mugs for coffee. We then would usually split a QS for lunch and then do a full QS for dinner. We aren't big eaters and it was plenty of food for us.

With snacks, I think my husband and I could do 2 meals a day. We would probably do an in room breakfast like a breakfast bar and fruit then eat the QS meals for lunch and dinner. That's pretty much my standard breakfast when I'm not at WDW though, so it wouldn't be a huge stretch to make it work. If you're used to big meals for all 3 at home, then you won't be full on only 2 while you're there

I think it really depends WHERE you eating. BOG--breakfast or lunch--or WPE are GREAT meals for CS. Cosmic Rays, well...
But if you pay OOP for a cheaper sitdown or two, like lunches at The Plaza or LTT and bring a few breakfast items, you will be fine.
LOTS of great snacks, too! Don't use those or water or soda...
Have a great trip!

One trip, we split all the quick service, if we both found something we liked on the menu. This worked for us for breakfast and lunch, then we did a table service dinner.

You are lucky! My DH insisted I was starving him when we used the CL lounge for beakfast. At home he almost never eats breakfast, and when he does it is usually pastry during his break. I really thought he would be fine!

I think a normal appetite could eat 3 QS a day. The portions are okay, they fill me up for that meal, but I'll burn it off in 4-5 hours.

I'm a big supporter of 3 meals a day at Disney if you area 3 meal a day person at home. You can't compare QS to DxDP, it's really apples and oranges. If you're looking to cut costs and/or think you don't need as much food as 3 QS a day, then taking advantage of some in room food for breakfast certainly helps and if you're on the QS plan, then you can try and maximize your 1 snack credit per day on a meal substitute type item. You can also share meals, if half a portion is enough for you. I think I would rather do that and eat 3 meals than just cut out a meal completely.

DW and I would split a lot of QS meals last time and it was plenty of food. The nice thing about QS is if you split one meal and are still hungry or get hungry again quickly is it's very easy to just get another meal or just grab snacks wherever you are.

I wouldn't hate on cosmic rays too much. Last summer my friend and I shared a half chicken meal at cosmic rays. It was good and was plenty of food for 2 people.

We usually eat 3 meals a day at disney, although breakfast is typically something light in room, like a banana or special K shake. We aren't huge eaters though so our 3 meals are small-ish.

with all the walking and the heat, DH and I eat three meals a day at Disney. I eat three a day at home, but DH doesn't usually eat breakfast. On vacation though, he wants a big filling breakfast. We share snacks, but don't share meals.

It depends on what you eat really. QS can be a full slab of ribs with a side of pulled pork cheese fries and a chocolate mousse for dessert or QS can be a salad or QS can be a couple of Mickey Waffles with bacon or QS can be a sit down meatloaf dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express. If you are doing the DDP and looking to maximize your QS credits, there are plenty of options where you can do that and maybe even share a meal if you are light eaters. With the snack credit and with breakfast in the room, 2qs meals a day should be plenty to eat and you won't go hungry. If you are planning to pay OOP I would not think twice about what it is I'm actually eating (whether it is a snack or a side or a QS or what) and just eat as I go what I feel like eating... sometimes you will want to eat a salad, sometimes you will want to eat something heavier and maybe split it. If you are trying to budget I'd just budget what the QS plan costs and you will probably come home with money.
