My husband and I talk to each other on the phone a few times a day. And at the end of the call, I always say "I love you" and he usually says "love you too".
Well, he calls me a little bit ago on his way home from work as he normally does. But today, he is giving his friend a ride home. So when I end the call with my normal "I love you", he hesitates for a second and just says "bye".
Ladies: are any of your husbands this way? Afraid to utter to L word in front of their friends?
Guys: are you like my husband?
What's funny is that this guy knows me and sees us together every Friday because they bowl together in the same league. And at bowling, hubby doesn't hesitate to hug and kiss me in front of everyone...yet he can never say "I love you" when he's around the guys.

I undertand though, doesn't bother me a bit. He says it enough other times during the day.
) is never heard when I talk to him when he is at work or out with the guys! Much more subtle, no pet names. Can't look "girly" ya know!
They all know he says it though.
My response was because of the "Lucky Me" comment.
when around other guys. Who knows, maybe they are afraid of getting ribed for it

This reminds me of the one time that DH only said "me too" when he was hanging up the phone instead of "I love you" - at the time I just laughed & teased him about it. When we got home after work he told me that just as we were hanging up a big group of people he didn't know walked into his office!
