Please give me your reviews of these three digital cameras. I don't know much about camera so please use real jargon. My DH wants me to start using digital. I need one that takes very good action shots quickly and very good stills. My DD does soccer, dance, and gymnastics. My DD 5 will also be taking a few pics with supervision.

Nikon D50 used $300
Canon Rebel XTi w/kit lens $699 ( I understand this is a great deal)
Panasonic DMC-FZ8S $349

Thank you so much. You can email me at deeannkelley@yahoo.com if need be.

Those are really three different levels of cameras. The D50 is an entry level DSLR, the XTi is still entry level but next generation so different, and the panasonic is a p&s. It sounds like you need to spend more time deciding exactly what type of camera you want and what your budget is before starting to narrow it down to certain models. If low light is not that important, I say save the money and go with an advanced p&s. The dance and gymnastics are likely inside and could be tricky and need a good low light camera. Be aware that a DSLR alone will improve low light shots, but you really need to add a low light capable lens to get the most out of it, so that means more $$$.
