Hi!
During our stay in Anaheim in september I want to spend a whole day at the SoCal beaches (it is a Thursday).
Because I can't decide which one to choose :confused3, I decided to visit all on one day:
morning: pick up the rental car in Anaheim and drive to Huntington Beach
afternoon: Newport Beach incl. whale watching
evening: Laguna Beach

Is this just too much or a possible trip? What are the must-sees there?

Thanks for your advise!
Katrin

We just did this in April. First we went to Huntington and walked around a little in the town and on the pier, then we drove thru Newport (it's really spread out), and went to Laguna for lunch and walked around, and had a little beach time - LOVED Laguna (great shops and beaches) very quaint. Then on our way back we stopped at Newport Beach and Balboa. We always wanted to try In & Out Burger so we stopped there on the way back to drop off the car. Awesome day!

Yes, this is easily done. Huntington & Newport are maybe 10 minutes away from each other, and Laguna isn't too much farther south.

In & Out-Burger? Good idea! I have heard of them, but never tried (don't have it in Germany).

If you can, stop in at The Beachcomber in Newport. Right on the beach, great food and lots of history. You also can walk up the steps and have a milkshake at The Shake Shack. Enjoy...SoCal is just so beautiful.

One more thing...be sure to check out the tide pools in Laguna (main beach area). We saw a little octopus once! There is a lady (I think her name is Amy), as well as others, who will show you around and point out the wildlife. Again, just so beautiful.

Hi Nina, thanks for your help!
I was planning to visit Heisler Park- do you know if it is possible to walk from Heisler Park to the Main Beach of Laguna?
I think it would be great to park the car at Heisler park and to walk down to the beach.

We have a chance to make reservations for OC Beach bus tour(the three beaches mentioned). Are options are Saturday or Sunday? Which day would be the best to tour the OC beaches?

Hi Katrin! Yes, we think it definitely is walkable and have done so in the past. Go early so you can find a space. Have a wonderful time!
