Thoughts?
Currently in a BWV studio, it will be myself, DH & Dad...waitlisted for a one BR...thinking it will be more comfortable...Is it overkill to get the one BR for three people?

We are a family of three and I think nothing about sticking my 18 yr old son in the living room on the sleeper sofa. But I don't think I would put my father on the sleeper sofa, unless he wouldn't mind it. And I am not going to give up the king sized bed in the master bedroom.

Not in this family. We get a 1BR for 2 and prefer a 2BR for 3-4.

I agree no overkill at all.

Depending on who I travel with, family versus a friend, I have gotten a two bedroom for myself and a friend.

It's why we have it. :goodvibes

As to studios, would never do one with more than two.

This is my dielmma..although at this point, there is no way we would be able to get a 2 BR at BWV, and I REALLY don't want to give up our room there....
Right now we are staying at the VWL- in a 1 BR for the first four nights, then a studio at BWV...I am feeling not that great about having my dad sleepng on the sofa bed....Yet, I really don't want to sleep on it either...and DH bless his heart, said to give my Dad the bed and he could care less, BUT this is supposed to be a vacation for us too!! :confused3

I should have just booked a 2 BR from the start.....

This. We are also a family of 3 and I don't have a problem sharing a studio with my 12-year old DD. However ... I would not be comfortable sharing one with a parent (or in-law) so I don't think that a 1BR is overkill. I *do* think a 2BR is overkill. Is there another studio available? I think that a 1BR would be ideal, but 2 studios would work too.

Overkill? I can't imagine having three grown adults in a Studio. We're taking our DS35 with us to HH next June and am getting a 2BR.

Have you thought about getting 2 Studios?

I think the sofa beds have improved. They don't have the bar across the middle of your back anymore. My DD said it was comfortable. But of course I did have the bed :).

The reason I originally bought DVC was to have the luxury of a 1 bedroom for my mom and I. I would have never bought it for a studio, we could have continued to stay in hotel rooms.

To each their own ;)
When it is just DH & I , we prefer the studios.....

For a couple, that's good. You can sleep in the queen and leave the sofabed folded up. That doesn't work if you are not a couple and don't want to share a queen bed.

I have done a 1BR (OKW) for just me. It was wonderful. We reguarly do a 2BR if there are 4 of us. Three is okay in a 1BR.

Two years ago I stayed in a studio with two close friends. I told them never again. I love them dearly but privacy and personal space were issues plus I like to fall asleep with the TV and just felt I couldn't do that (although they said I could).

I think the sofa beds at BWV are great. I find them very comfortable. I've slept on the one in the living room of the 1BR and the one in the "2nd bedroom" at BWV.

I have slept on the sleeper at BWV and thought it was just fine. For some reason, actually lots of different ones, I seem to have slept on lots of the sleeper sofas in different resorts! At BWV, I invited my two sisters and put them in the queen bed since I didn't want to share a bed and the sleeper is only a double.

I fell right to sleep, no problem, which is not the case at home.

He is the guest but I would think he wouldn't expect the two of you to share a double bed and him take the king sized one. Have you talked to him about the options?

Most definitely get the 1 bd. Don't you want some privacy?????? You and your DH are on vacation! The 2 studios aren't a bad idea either.

Everyone needs their privacy.

We would get a 2BR or 2 studios. All adults need their own bedrooms.

It's this exact thing concern for comfort that leads me to book space that will provide an actual bed for everyone if at all possible. And the fact that I would feel compelled to provide a parent or person of that nature with the bed even if it meant putting myself out a bit.

It certainly never hurts to call about availability - you might get a nice surprise! Or maybe even get a second studio. It'll be less points than a 2BR although you won't have that common area to gather in which is so nice.
