I have looked here and there to see if there were any threads on the Iran situation and if there were any, I have missed them -sorry.
I had wanted to write in to voice my support to all of you during that horrid situation and of course I am glad it is finally over.
However, what these incredible servicemen and woman went through was what I imagine to be as close to hell as anything (being blindfolded and lined up and hearing rifles going off within close earshot) and it is probably not over for them yet - at least psychologically - even though you Brits are amazingly resilient
However, I've always admired the British military - as well as the British people in general. They are anything but cowards - quite the opposite really and whenever I have listened to interviews with the British military, I'm always so impressed with their total resolve and determination - in a very matter-of-factly way - with a "stare" I would not like to come against - LOL.
Example: After the bombing in London, the interview with your average Londoner after being asked "How will you go on?" sounded like this - " Well, yes, indeed, this is a difficult situation, but we lived through WWII bombings and we'll just continue on." These are not the words of a cowardly people!!!!
Well, this is getting to be way too long, and I'm just venting - but I just want you all to know how much I respect you and cannot think of one other country whose side I would like to be on as much as the UK. We make a lot of jokes in chat and we all have a great time ribbing each other about our differences, but when you come right to it, the UK/USA friendship should be a friendship valued beyond belief.
I didn't even read the other thread -- it's all rubbish I'm sure! Please just consider the source and ignore it! Comments like that don't even deserve any acknowledgment.
I hope this sounds somewhat intellegent as the Masters is on and I'm trying my best to make sense typing here but my DH is non-stop talking (it's more like babblling really) in my ear about the various players and their families (yes, I do care soooo much

). And to make matters worse, his monlogue is in a very poor British accent - LOL!!!!
Hope you all have a great week!
Aloha,
Lorraine
