It really depends on my mood. Most of the time I like anything controversial, but sometimes not. I always like the threads where its like a conversation, it will start out one way and maybe go in another direction, with people sharing personal stories or whatever. For example, my favorite thread of yesterday was CindyB's "in and out" thread. What a hoot, I got immense enjoyment out of that. (I know, I need a life). :teeth:

Of your choices above, I can't really say any of them bug me too much. I'm not really keen on people sharing their medical issues, unless they are looking for prayer or PD. I have ZERO desire to hear about bodily functions or Junior's constipation problems, so I always skip those. :crazy2: Other than that, I gauge what I read by what kind of mood I'm in, and how much time I have to devote to the DIS.

Whoa, ETA I just read the cliquey thread option. Never ever read those. They don't offend me, I just don't read them and don't feel the need to converse with people on only one thread.

I avoid the political threads the most, because politics just don't interest me. I usually avoid the cliquey threads too, because I just can't keep up with them. Once in awhile, I'll pop in on one to see what's going on, but I'll rarely post to it.

I avoid political threads...
and a few others - should have had multiple options on their ;)
(I use to avoid the cliquey threads until i just jumped in and had sooo much fun!)

I put medical...like the one going right now about the kid with the stinky head?!? Nooooooo thank you!!

Politics and Religion

I avoid threads about games with letters and words. I think they should be on a special board of their own. I also avoid threads about drinking, drinking meets, etc. I don't drink.

About half of those for sure.

I'd say the same, but sometimes I read them and don't respond. I often don't know what to say, or what I would say has already been said. ;)

I read a little bit of everything. There are no particular types of threads that I completely avoid.
::yes:: Me too.

I voted for political threads because apparently if your political beliefs are different from some others, you are flat out wrong. And that's putting it nicely.

In the same vien, there is one inflammatory individual whose threads I try to avoid. He/She just wants an argument.

P.S. I know I can't spell. I also sometimes make typos. It is annoying to have it pointed out. I haven't figured out how to use spell check on the threads.

I avoid most religious threads, they almost always get nasty. I don't practice any religion and frankly I don't care what others do.
I also dislike threads that only serve as a big "brag fest". I'm not interested in how much money you (may) have or how you spend it.

Pets. It's not that I'm not sympathetic or uncaring about people's pets. I'm just not a "pet person."

political. I jump right in the middle of anything else, but political drives me up the wall!

I avoid political threads. I'm very politically active IRL, but if I'm going to spend time debating something, I want to be able to at least tell myself that maybe I'll convince someone to change their minds. Maybe not the people debating me on the thread, but at least people reading the thread.

I try not to get sucked into debates that aren't headed anywhere. I'm much more likely to answer a question like, "You really like to sleep in on Tuesdays? I've always preferred to sleep in on Wednesdays. What do you find appealing about sleeping in on Tuesdays?" than, "You idiot! Only fools sleep in on Tuesdays! If you don't sleep in on Wednesdays, you must have bought into the conspiracy theory about how bad it is to sleep in on Wednesday."

Little kid threads... potty training, biting, family bed, etc.
