Yeah, you hook up your camera to the card reader and it copies all your photos. When you get home, you hook up the card reader to your computer to download them. They are pretty small and not too much money. Saw some for around 20.

I have to go to bed too. 6:30am gets here quick.

I got this email today and thought it was cute:

The irate customer calling the newspaper offices, loudly demanded to know where her Sunday edition was.
'Ma'am,' said the employee, 'today is Saturday. The Sunday paper is not delivered 'til Sunday.'
There was quite a pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition.
'So that's why no one was in church today.'

We stay off site across the street (Harbor Blvd), lots of reasonable hotels and the walk to the park isn't bad. You really need a car if you plan to see anything else. Knott's Berry Farm is near by. Universal is north, you'd have to drive through most of LA. Legoland, SeaWorld are in San Diego, about 2 hours away. We used to make a weekend trip to San Diego to see SeaWorld, and San Diego Zoo. No Legoland back then. The Zoo is in Balboa Park where there are museums and botanical gardens. Disneyland is smaller than MK, you could do it in one day but it's better to do two days in the summer. California Adventure can also be done in one day. I think the last time we went we took three days and saw every thing. I never go in the summer though.

I think we'll stay at the Candy Cane Inn for 4 nites and do DL and maybe a day at US. Then we'll move down towards SD and stay there 2 nights to do LEGOLand and the zoo. Probably fly home from SD. I figure we need 3 days total for DL and CA Adventure.

M&N-that's so cool that your mom loves baseball and the phillies so much! I keep saying they are going to be my next favorite team. I've been a Yankees fan for years, but am getting tired of all the drama with them. My DH is a HUGE Red Sox fan-we've had some fun rooting for our separate teams in the last few years! I do love that Chase Utley on the Phillies!

Oh please, DO NOT become a Phillies fan! I know, the Yankees are stinking up the joint this year, and the theatrics are a bit over the top (that's what they get for ditching Joe Torre!), but stick with them, don't move over to the dark side!

had a BLAST in Wildwood yesterday! 4 slides at the waterpark. Swings and Tilt o' whirl (twice!) on the boardwalk. Only had a slice of pizza and a small vanilla ice cream (and lemonade0 all day! Today we're off to the beach for the last time, tomorrow we head home.

It sounds like it would be easier to have a hotel closer to where you will be. I think LegoLand sounds neat.

OK---here goes our rivalry! In my house, that Y word is a dirty word...It's just not allowed to be said! At least we can talk about Kyle...not those Y's. Of course, being born in Virginia could have something to do with it. The Phillies are not usually doing good...you have to root for the underdogs! Aliciajab---You'll break my Mother's 77 yr old heart if you don't root for the Phillies. And besides, their mascot is funny!

Racetrack---I looked up SD cards. I don't think I can use them. I have a memory stick and the old kind at that. I can't even buy them in the stores anymore. They just sell the memory stick duo's now. But I do love my Sony. It's only a 3.2 but it takes good pics as good as I need. I could probably get a new one cheaper than I paid for it back then but I need other things more so I cannot justify a new one.

I watched a travel channel show on thrill rides. Some of those are getting really wild. Doppey did not realize the Fahrenheit ride at Hershey had a drop that was a 97 degree drop. I had a feeling I should not try it!

M&N...if my SD card is close to full, I go to Walgreens or Walmart and have my pictures put on a disc. I like to have a hard copy anyway. Then I clear my SD card and start taking pictures all over again!

whgrn...when are you planning to go? I never made it to the San Diego Zoo, and its truly one of my regrets. Ever since I saw them walking through it at the beginning of Three's Company, I've wanted to see it. I did got to Legoland, but it was in Denmark and that was years and years ago. It was really cool then, but just made me realize how inept I am at legos!

I got a notice that my Journey/Cheap Trick/Heart concert is sold out! I've been listening to Heart the last couple of days. The Wilson sisters rock!

Two days without hearing from my nephew.. He doesn't need me anymore. I'm going to hurt him when I see him this weekend.

I have nothing to say about NASCAR but I do have an opinion on baseball. I root for any team that is playing the Yankees. I do not like them nor their owner. I like to root for the underdog. I rooted for the Red Sox now I think I'll root for the Chicago Cubs. I'm a glutton for punishment. I swore I wouldn't buy season tickets for the local college football team (as they suck). But I did, go to the first game next week.

Hi All,

Just quickly checking in on my school's first day. (My boys start next Tues. but I had to go back today.) I just LOVE the first day of school. Kids are all dressed up, new shoes, new backpacks, etc. The little kindergarteners crying for mom, my students from last year running up to hug me - wondering why I am not their teacher this year, parents taking pics and video of every move the kids make, kids saying..."Mom, stop. You're embarressing me" and lastly, parents celebrating that the kids are back in school. (Sound familiar Racetrack???? )
I'll be doing this all for my kids next week, but for now I'll just watch others.

The HOGS are coming into town and it is soooooo noisy. M&N, your pig collection sounds cute but not EXACTLY a Harley. Its exciting, but makes driving on the highway difficult. Never know when a biker will scoot in behind or next to you.

Has Lighttech had that baby yet? Hopefully she will wait until tomorrow at 5pm.

My question is, what kind of card do you use in your camera? I have a memory stick--not card. I did not think the SD cards would work on a memory stick?

But what I was talking about are those big photo machines that you put your media in---whether it be card or stick---and it transfers all the photos to a CD that you pay for. I don't know how to use as SD card reader either. Actually, I just picked up a second SD card when it was on sale and use that if I have to.

The cable company came today finally to check out my internet connection. Turns out there is something wrong with my computer. But the tech guy was great and set everything up a different way for me.

Anyways....

Afternoon. Beautiful day here too. Only around 80 with a cool little breeze. The local fair starts tonight and it's free admission too. But we won't be going tonight because it will be too crowded. We may go on Saturday when the Jonas Brothers are there in concert. We don't have tickets but there is an area where you can stand and see part of the show though not very well. The little ones like their music but they would not actually watch the show. They'd be too busy dancing.

M&N-I use an SD card but I think they make the memory card reader/writers for all types of memory media. I know some of them are also multi-type card readers. I know they made the announcement of Lagano but I didn't read too much about it but the headline. I'll have to check out the whole story before tonight.

D&DDisney-Now that the kids are back in school, it's way too quiet around here. I didn't even have to pick up DD7 after school today. DD12 wants to pick her up. It just feels weird.

Magikitty-That concert sounds great. Not that my kids would know any of them. I'm sure your nephew will call you soon. I agree with M&N, get that emergency box ready. You know he will call you with the oddest request at the oddest time of the day.

DL55-LOVED the way you described the 1st day of school! I had to miss that last year and this year with my DS6 because I had to be at the middle school for our first day. It's still all exciting though! Bittersweet really.

Hi Racetrack! I'm getting lucky these last couple of nights, my DH is into watching movies every night so I'm getting a lot of computer time! He is big into fantasy baseball so I don't get much computer time. I use to be really into baseball when I had more time. Now I just know who my team(s) are and root for them if I happen to catch them on.

Your welcome. I felt so lost when we finally got to go back after 7 years and I was just looking everywhere for any kind of help. And this was before I found the dis and alot of great people here.

DH, I, DD12 and a couple of my other family members do fantasy racing. It's a very serious matter around here. I usually get to have the computer except for about 3 hours after DH gets home from work. That's his veg-out time while I cook dinner, finish straightening up, etc. He take bedtime duties with the kids so I can relax.

Have you made any dining plans for your trip? If you haven't noticed yet, we kinda like to talk about food around here.

Sign me up! I love to talk about food too! We have been back and forth on what to do about eating. As of now we have decided not to do the dining plan. My mom had gastric bypass surgery and has been doing really well with that. I'm not sure that I want to "tempt" her with "limitless" food options. From all the "research" I've been doing on the boards I feel like we will be able to spend less on food then we would on the dining plan. What do you think?

You'll have to tell me when you are ready to start up next season of fantasy racing. I bet DH would love to join in if you have room!

My mother pulls the mother card on me every time. The only way she agreed to go to FL with me was if she could come and help me clean my house. I should have gone by myself! I have until Oct to get it organized.
