WOOHOO! I got an A+!!! Can't remember if I ever got any in school but this counts too, right?

I think I may have to talk DH into taking a trip out to Shady Maple. I would go this Sunday but we are going to a classic car show. I think we've gone every year since we met so it's a tradition. At least this year it will a beautiful day. Usually, it ends up being like 95 and humid.

I was scanning some of the NASCAR articles in Jayski and a lot were saying 18 was getting caught by Edwards. Carl was on a roll. Better watch out there racetrack...

I got a real funny card from a friend I go to the beach with. On the front are 3 ladies laid back in beach chairs. They have coverups on and all look like they are sleeping. It says At our age the water can be dangerous. Inside it says Lifeguards don't try as hard.

Shady Maple is closed on Sundays....
And since I am certified in the state of PA, even though retired, it certainly does count! (I just won't grade you on your NASCAR choices)

Good to know they are closed on Sundays. Gives me a reason to make DH take a Saturday off. I know he has to work alot since I stay home but it gets tiresome with him only "home" one day a week. Oooo, are they open holidays?

Kyle is just drawing Carl into a false sense of security. Just wait till the chase starts.

Did you see about the penalties handed out to the Joe Gibbs Nationwide team? Talk about harsh on the drivers who absolutely nothing to do with it.

Shady Maple is closed Easter, Labor Day, Christmas, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, and New Year's Day. I've gone on Good Friday and they charged dinner prices for lunch time but had all the grills going. Here's the link http://www.shady-maple.com/home

NASCAR's fines do punish everyone on the team...fair? Most of the time I would say not fair. Some may not be as innocent as they claim. Who is to know?

Most times, I agree with the "fine them all" way things are done in Nascar. But this time, I think Stewart and Logano had no idea what the team members did. Once they are out of the cars, I doubt they are really hanging around the garage area.

As for the crew cheifs, engine guys, etc., I agree with everything that happens to them. Not that I condone cheating or anything either, but it seems kind of odd that they would try to do this right after nascar handed down that new rule about the toyotas and cutting horsepower. Maybe it was their way to try to get around what they see as an unfair rule against them.

See, we do agree on many NASCAR things...just not fav driver.
I do need to point out that I did not go to bed at 9...you should still be able to hold out until at least 10:30. But then I do not have kids to bother me.

Who is number 24? I know absolutely nothing about NASCAR but saw a funny picture that included some "bad boy behavior" by Dale JR and SR to a number 24? Please explain and then if it wouldn't offend anyone I might post the picture.

BTW-DH left the house this morning and totally forgot to say Happy Anniversary. I just had to call him and say it just to mess with him. I went on a site to see what the traditional gift was for 16 and guess what-most of them go up to 15 and skips to 20. hmmmmmm, very telling isn't it.
One site says 16th is silver hollow ware, could that be interpreted as 'handguns?'

24 is Jeff Gordon. He got a lot of boos in his day too when he came up and started winning. Dale Sr's fans especially booed him. They had clashes on the track. Actually, they started one of the NASCAR merchandise companies together and were friends off the track. I vote to post the picture. I tease because I cannot boo Jeffie anymore since Jr went to the same team.

Would a bucket of coal seem appropriate? It works for Santa!

I just heard from my friend in Orlando. She's a mile from Sea World. She said no one would ever think of going to a park today. It is worse today than any day yet. They got 4 inches on Tuesday, 3 1/2 inches yesterday and they say there's lot more coming. Melbourne area has over 35 inches so far and more coming. They said that this storm will be studied for years to come because it is so different from any other storm. It's to rain the entire day. It just isn't moving away and they say that when it does, it could come back full force. As long as it is not categorized as a hurricane, people can claim the damages on their insurance. Once it is a hurricane, they can't. Isn't that amazing? The Sanford airport is closed because of fish on the runway.

My DM just called she said she's coming out to go shopping-gotta laugh she said she thought it was funny that I am 45 years old and she is having to take me 'back to school' shopping. Actually, there were exasperated sighs and the savior's name included in her comment but she will help me do the alterations that always have to be done when you are 5'4 and need pants. gotta love moms!
