I forgot to check the Big Brother thread. Anyone here watch it? I am surprised the vote was unanimous. (I wanted to put an e on the end of that

Well, racetrack---are you about as not excited about the race as I am?

I'M FINALLY BACK AND WHAT NO RACE TONIGHT??????We drive right past Dover on the way to the beach. Actually since they have Sonic now in Dover we stop there since I have waited for ever to have Sonic. It's a Midwest and more South thing. My DN grew up with it, and many shows on DirectTV would have Sonic commercials. I always wanted Sonic. So now I get it once a year when we go to the beach. It is goooood, the drinks yep amazing. Need to watch todays GH aka General Hospital not Ghost Hunters

Race? I am dreading it. I am so disappointed the the "car of tomorrow". I like Kyle but even I am getting tired of seeing him win so much without much competition. He's good but I think the way the cars are has something to do with it. Have there been any close finishes this year yet? Remember a few years ago and it was Ricky Craven/Kurt Busch at the finish of Darlington...a couple of hundreths of a second between 1st and 2nd. That is what I want to see.

Nope, no race in Dover this weekend. They are in Pocono. I don't remember Sonic in Dover the last time we went but that was 2 years ago. So, it's really good? We are thinking of heading down in Sept. for the race to visit all the merchandise trailers at the race...maybe catch a few autographs. We'll need a place for lunch....don't want "track food". :rotfl: What do you recommend?

Don't do track food. The last time I was there, we were watching guy cook on this big grill. He took hot dogs out of plastic bag and there was a big green spot on several. He just put them on and kept going.

Not too pleasant.
When I go to VA, I stay on rt 1 so don't get in the traffic anymore. I've only been on 13 north of the track but there are a lot of places to eat. I'll be in NC that weekend or I would probably go too.

Okay here's a hint for Nasscar, and no I don't follow real close but as I said many moons ago got a little addicted when DN was living with us during her DH's last tour a few ago. DS likes to tease, she is a Jr. fan:scared1: and he likes what's his face, a cute one at that:rotfl2:. What in the world are Toyota's doing in Nasscar!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry you want to drive one fine but people please Nasscar that is a oxymoron with Toyota. Sorry just my op, and when it b/c's so mainstream that it makes ABC Sat night sports there's your problem folks. Some things are not made to be mainstream, takes the fun out of it. Sorta like good cooks on foodnetwork and they b/c super stars's and less of a good cook. I've had that channel since it started and I've watched really good chef's put on the back burner for those who b/c celebrities and do very little cooking. Okay off vent.

Sonic is a fast food drive up place. don't eat or like much fast food but yep like those sonic burgers they are know for there drinks. All combos whatever you want. My fav. Strawberry limeade, with real crushed Strawberries and they use these cute little ice cubes not crushed just mini and they add lime and and other fruits to your drinks. Kids like a Dr. Pepper w/Vanillia. I was smart this time ordered a super sized this time so it would last me over the state line.
They have two now the one the exit b/f the racetrack, it's the State Police exit actually right next door to the HQ's and a Super Wawa on the other side. Sorry but if there are any smoker's that are from high tax state's Del is the place to pick up some. The other is off the Dover Air Force base exit a bit further down.

Okay that ends tonight Dover and Sonic update, oh someone tell me why my lights are dimming???? Time for nite nite.

Don't forget I'm still catching up need my beauty rest.

Ewww. Now I know why we always pack the big cooler whenever we go to Dover. :rotfl: We missed the race last year...vacation was at the end of August and it just didn't work. Won't make it this year with dad's wedding in August and vacation in November. With 6 of us in the wedding, it's running a pretty penny. Now in 2010, we are hoping to get to Daytona!!!

There's a Sonic in Lancaster but I haven't gone yet. It's right across from some outlets and that road gets very busy.

My relatives in NC are turned off NASCAR now because they are getting away from their roots. Read an article saying the chase was not helping the racing either. Drivers going safe for the points and not wild for the win.

I'm calling it a day too. Nite....

Hey disney54us....don't be talking bad about the Toyota's. The best driver of this year happens to drive a Toyota. :lmao: Just ask M&N...she'll tell you. :lmao: Truthfully, I wasn't too thrilled about Toyota getting into Nascar either but then KB just proved them all wrong. :cool1: :cool1:

I may have to check out Sonic when we head down this year. Any kind of fruity drink sounds great.

Night!!!! Catch you tomorrow!

Happy August dear friends. My goodness this summer is going fast!

I've seen those Gucci hip sacks...they're pretty cute, but small. We may be collectively able to afford a knock-off one, the real one is half my vacation budget!

Re: Big Brother. I too was surprised it was unanimous to get Angie out of the house, especially with Jessie becoming a huge major jerk. I didn't think Angie was that much of a threat, she's proved over and over again that she rubs people the wrong way. Jessie, in his buffooness, is a threat in competitions. I must agree with Ollie: "this may be the dumbest cast yet". I wonder who won HOH?

I've had Sonic before---its really good. We get the commercials too, but there are none around here too.

That Julie Andrews song was really funny. I'll have to save that. I've read that Julie Andrews has a potty mouth. That would be fun to hear coming from Mary Poppins.

Oh! Miracles! TA got back to me yesterday, to take my payment info of course. Just have to wait for my paperwork to come in! Woo-hoo! 45 days, baby!

Hi everyone.
So glad Disney54us is back. :goodvibes
Laughed at the Julie Andrews song.
I think people who wear fanny packs are not the people who would pay $455 for a tiny "waist wallet" (AKA fanny pack):faint:

Just letting you know I won't be on for the next week. Going to visit my DMom, Visited my DMIL in June so I have to visit my DM.

I was watching the BBthread last night and someone was posting as they got out. I guess they watched the live feed. It was April . I whited it in case someone isn't nosey!
I guess your TA loves you when you owe money!

I saw some friends at the dr office and went to lunch with them. For a week with no plans, I was sure busy! Catch you Monday...

Just sayin' hi. I've skimmed a little, but not nearly as committed as Disney54us! I will have to go back at some point though, I'm definitely out of the loop.

Work was swamped, skipped lunch again (that's when I usually try to catch up w/ all you ladies.) I DID eat for all you worriers, I just had to do it while I had a meeting w/ the bossman.

I'll let y'all know how Sunday goes. DS is really excited.

Oh, whoever offered a "fanny swap"... I'm in. I'm tired of mine. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Maybe I'll get a chance to pop in tomorrow.

BTW - Just in case "baby Lighttech" as he's been dubbed on here makes an early appearance, I'm sure I'll disappear for a while. But, I'll try to check back asap and let you all know how we are doing. But, I am getting w/in a few weeks of my due date, so I didn't want you all to worry if I suddenly didn't post for a while. I'm hoping he hangs on until his due date... I still have a lot of stuff to do at home to get ready... but I know full well that I'm not in control of that decision!

Hey everyone!!!

Had to take DD12 to the eye doctor today. It was just time for her yearly check-up. She had to get a stronger prescription. This is the first year that we've a vision plan on our health insurance. I though we would only have to pay 30 for everything. Well, it turns out that DH's company never enrolled him the the vision plan. It wouldn't even be such a big deal except we've been paying for it since October. :headache: I had to pay for the glasses because school is starting soon. But once the company has it all fixed, I am welcome to send in a copy of my bill to have in reimbursed.

lighttech-I knew you were getting close but I didn't realize that it is this close. How long are you going to be working for? Hope you get a chance to check in before the little ones makes his appearance. :grouphug:

Good Morning!

Just stopping by to say a quick hello! My arm is still acting up so I haven't been able to post to often. I have an appt on Monday so hopefully I can find out what is wrong with it.

lighttech: Wow time has flown by! I'm sure it doesn't feel that way to you though.

I'll stop by later to atleast read but can't be sure if my arm will let me post.

Have a good day!

Morning Killers, Don't want to stay to Mia.
Yesterday played catch up on the house which is what I should have done the past few days instead of reading the TK book. Oh well, we all need me time, right??:confused3
DN and Hope came over and I swear in the two days I hadn't seen her she grew, really. DN is renting a car today and heading to see her inlaws for a few days, so I had everyone over and b-qued last night out back.

Racerchicky, sorry but still feel Toyota's have no place in Nasscar, remember, its not the car that makes the man it's the man that makes the car:rotfl2:

M&N I do urge you to try Sonic, just be aware you need to specify what you want on the burger ie they will put mustard on if you don't tell them otherwise.

DL: Hope you have a nice visit:goodvibes.
Hi Pikester, hope your arm is feeling better.
Lighttech: Wow I can't believe your so close to your due date!!!!

Okay, nothing going on much, can't believe that it's August, at the same time Summer is starting to b/c very boring. Never thought I would say that, but after the initial  It's summer, you have the 4th, then we do our week at the beach and then :confused3 nothing, nada day in and day out:scared:. Camps here are very costly and sorry but I pay two school tuitions (well I did), it's just that I would look at the prices and be geez it's like having tuition through the summer!!

Maybe next year after being tuition free for a year, as many of you know DS's school closed and he is going public next year. The big change is that DD is going into her senior year and decided to switch to the public!!
Yep, honestly as I have discussed her severe asthma problems and how last year and this year she can't finish usually from May on. Though I pay for her school, she's a number strolling the halls. I mean in Junior year all they do is tell them how this is such a important year blah blah blah. At the end of March do you think that the Guidance Councelor's should have been meeting with the students??? No, when I called to inquirer (okay complain) I get this well you know we go over that in Sept. (senior year) and did you get the letter that we are having a college night for parents? Well yes, but don't you think you should be meeting with your students one on one??
Don't know but she decided she wanted to go look at the HS here and talk to the someone in Guidance. We did b/f vaca and she decided to switch. I will say I was impressed how out of the way they seem to go. Even down to her Asthma, the Director of Guidance as if some of the construction going on would set her Asthma off. A big plus is that with there new addition apparently they have A/C now:banana:. Her old school had none and no fans, that's why by the end of the year she could not make it in 90 degree heat with windows open letting all the pollen in and uniform stockings.
Funny even though it's public it's small her class will have less then 200 vs her old school at almost 400. So hopefully they can give better attention to the students. Have to admit, nervous about this but hopeful it will work out for the better:goodvibes.
Not going to say that I won't mind saving the tuition, and honestly if I thought she was getting a great education I wouldn't care, but I wasn't getting what I paid for.

Speaking of paying and money: Racer that's crazy you've been paying for insurance and they didn't add you. Okay great they will reimburse you when they get it straightened out but you had to pay out of pocket!!!

It seems sometimes people can't get ahead or stay on course. We were
expecting tax stimulas check b/f we left for vaca. Of course this year we didn't have our income tax check direct deposited (I was switching accounts) and so those who get paper checks were last on the list. Anyhow, DN was staying here b/f she and mom and Hope came down and no check, get home and no check. Spent 2 days calling trying to speak to real person only to wait on hold and after 40+mins. one time have a recording say they are busy please call back later:eek:.
Finally on Weds I get through and here's the thing. I never change my Social to my married name, have no intention either that is my name my Dad's name and I am keeping it!!! I have been married for 25 years we file jointly every year I sign with my married name which is on my license and used in most every thing else. No problem, this lady tells me since my name on my social and the name on the income taxes doesn't match, they can't issue a check!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I explain that I am one in the same person, which is common place in this day and age that there was never a problem for the 25 years I filed taxes. That when I had to renew my license two years ago it popped at DMV and they sent a letter that I had to show I was born this person and married and I am the same. If they run a credit check with my social both names will come up on the report. There is a difference between having a legal also know as and having illegal alias's.
She goes on to tell me this is how congress wrote the rules and that I can use the amount I would have gotten as a tax write off on my 08 taxes:mad:
Now I am fuming and also on the brink of tears. I told her I don't need a tax credit I want my money!!! I can't believe that there was nothing to show I am one in the same and just then give me my money. I hung up and drove over to my congressman office which is a few blocks away. So I met with a very nice lady who took the report and could not believe the IRS lady told me to write it off on my 08 taxes. She understood the one in the same person and sent the report. So we'll see maybe they will do something I hope. In the mean time the money we thought would be here isn't gosh life is fun.

Just doesn't seem to stop here lately, but, again, wanted to at least check in.
Just talked to DS on the phone (always so funny... he gets distracted when you are not right there sometimes... you never know if you'll have a great conversation, or if he'll wander off and leave the phone somewhere.) But, he and DH just picked up his "Big Boy Bed" and he's so excited! We found a great deal on a toddler bed at Toys-r-us, and then wound up getting extra $ off b/c they didn't have the color that DH thought we wanted in stock (which wasn't the color we had decided on anyway... for once, his tuning me out paid off! :rotfl: )

Hey everyone!!!
But once the company has it all fixed, I am welcome to send in a copy of my bill to have in reimbursed.

lighttech-I knew you were getting close but I didn't realize that it is this close. How long are you going to be working for? Hope you get a chance to check in before the little ones makes his appearance. :grouphug:

I don't want to offend anyone who works for one, I used to, and I know they aren't all the same, but in my experience, insurance companies stink. Although, I guess this was really DHs work that messed this one up. I still have a major grudge over my insurance company over the mess they turned my last maternity leave into. I'm trying to be as proactive as possible this time, but they were just plain mean before. So, sorry for the mess, and I hope you get it all cleared up!

As for baby/working, etc. I plan on working 'till the kid pops out if at all possible. I'm entitled by the gov't to take 12 weeks (not paid, of course, but I've been saving vacation and I do get some "disability" time) and I plan on using it. I won't get on my soap box right now, but I completely disagree w/ (or, more specifically, don't think they are adequate) the parental leave policies here in the US, they make it possible for companies to make things very difficult. If I leave before I have the baby, that counts against my 12 weeks. I don't even like the thought of putting a 12 wk old into daycare, let alone even a few days under. Sorry - went off a little there anyway. I just don't think I should consider myself lucky to be able to get 12wks at home... after a mountain of paperwork and months of setting aside $ and scraping to cover it. I feel so bad for the mommies out there that can't manage it and have to drop off their little ones at 4 and 6 weeks old and go back to work.

So we'll see maybe they will do something I hope. In the mean time the money we thought would be here isn't gosh life is fun.

I hope this all works out. How frustrating!!!! Good for you for going to your congressman's office. I don't know if I ever would have thought of that, and its definitely an excellent resource.

Hmmmm... Maybe I should right some letters about the soapbox I was on in the quote before...

Alright, gotta run kiddos! Hope to catch ya' later.

Bopsmom---Yes that picture will work great and I'll leave in your DD as a junior Tker. My DD will be thrilled.

Sorry I haven't been on again. Life is crazy over here. All good, just busy.
My knee is doing much better. Water aerobics has been great for therapy.
We have a small above ground pool in the back yard I have been trying to get in every chance I get to exercise the knee. I should be all better long before the trip to WDW.

I don't even think I can try and catch up with everything. I'll just skim as I have a chance and jump back in to the present conversation.

Hope everybody is doing great.
Well sorry to jump on and jump off but we are about to get hit with lightning storms. I'll try again tomorrow.

Miss You guys.:hippie:
