MagiKitty-That New Year's tradition sounds interesting. All those different foods...mmm. But the change would never last more than a day in my house. My kids would end up hunting it down and adding it to their Disney funds. :rotfl:

You taught them well! Any way you can add to Disney fund is good.

I'll have to check out that 40 thread. Y'all are such youngins and 40 is a while a way for you, but for some of us it's only 4 months and 18 days away!!!:scared1: State of mind indeed... well I'm just not looking forward to it. I don't end up in a walking through the halls of the ol' age home w/ curlers in my hair, a flowered house dress and knee-high nylons and Crocs on my feet. :rotfl2: (only because someone else will have dressed me - like Bopsmom - and will find it humorous to put those orthopedic shoes on my feet)
As for the "Rather be 40 than pregnant" button, I guess I'd rather be pregnant that 40 right about now. :lmao:

Ode to the Croc
To the fashion trend that hurts my eyes
Will praise the day that it finally dies
Goes to that poly plastics hall of fame
And stops making everyones' feet look so lame
Go away mammoth, capri, caymon and crete
Yours is a polyresin that will not touch my feet
For of your comfort I cannot speak
Because I fear looking like a total geek
The words expressed above are addressed only to the shoe and do not reflect the writer's feelings towards those that wear them.

You are good...love your disclaimer at the end. Maybe should add: Disney has disapproved this ode!

Darn if she doesn't mess up my vacation I'm going to get all crazy-like on her!

Oh no! I'm halfway to D&D's old age home scenario...as soon as I get home, I switch into my flowered housedress and Crocs! Its all about comfort, baby.

Nice poem BTW! The TKers are just so talented!

7.gif
TA's beware!

I think you should wear that flowered house dress and Crocs to WDW. Or, maybe start a thread asking if its okay to wear that to Disney.... w/ a FANNY PACK of course. :lmao:

Too funny!

:lmao:

I always wish I had the nerve to go on one of those "mug" threads or "pool hop" threads and just disagree (whether I agree or not ha ha) Say something like

"I am going to go pool hopping at the Beach Club...any suggestions on the best way to get there from the Holiday Inn on International Drive?" :rotfl:

Or, "I'm staying with my Grandmother this trip, at her house, and I was wondering if I buy me a mug on Ebay (or use the one I found at a yard sale), can I just fill it at any ol' resort. I really want to be able to fill it at the Contemporary because that is where we are parking on our MK day!"

How fun would that be??? :rotfl:

Don't panic, I would never do that...but it sure would be fun.

Don't give anyone ideas...that would be soooo much fun.

By following Disney's rules, we have to buy 4 new mugs every year that we go. I would also pay more for a lifetime mug. Right now, we give all the extra mugs to family. Dad is mail delivery person (must be pc :rotfl: ) and stepmom is a crossing guard. They can always use a nice mug for their coffee in the morning. But we still lots left over from the trips. And after this year, we will have 4 more.

Sell them on ebay as refillable mugs. :rotfl:

I did want to share real quick though. We wanted to do something special w/ DS before the new baby came (just Mom, Dad and DS) and he loves music, so we broke down and bought tix to the Disney Music Block Party Tour. Its a bunch of bands that do songs in btw shows on Playhouse Disney in the morning. We go on Sunday, and I think I'm almost as excited as DS! I really hope he likes it. It seems like a pretty cool set up. Bands play on the main stage, and then, for the little ones (or big ones :rolleyes1 ) w/ short attention spans, there is also a tent full of toys sponsored by Playskool or somebody and a tent full of musical instruments for the kids to try out.

Have fun...take tons of pics. Baby Lighttech will probably enjoy the music too!

You all were busy today.

You are dedicated to catch up. Now you won't miss any of our foolishness---and I do believe there has been some.

Pepper: I just can't help but check out the welcome board. Some do get overlooked. I know I tried to answer some questions others wouldn't lower themselves to answer because it's been answered so many times. Plus I rack up posts. Those 24 days will fly by.

MyPoints partnered with BuzzAgent recently and it seems since then its taken longer for people to receive their GC. I would give it another few weeks; they say expect it in 4-6 weeks, and its closer to 6 weeks.

I had a missing GC last year. Waited and waited for it. Told them I never received it after two months via email and took them a few days to get back to me. They followed up on the missing GC and seeing that it hadn't been redeemed, just issued another one which I found in my mailbox the next week. I guess my big tip is to be patient for a little while, then go get 'em!

Pepper, that party sounds way cool. I wanna go too! I think its great that you're both encouraging his love of music and recognizing that things are going to be shaken up really soon and the little guy needs some special memories to help him in the transition.

Thanks for the info. It's just it had never taken this long to get the gift cards before. I'll try to be patient.

Good Evening TKers!

I'm finally taking the time to stop by and actually post instead of just reading. My arm, wrist and hand have been acting up lately so typing makes everything go numb. I suppose I should make an appt to see a Dr. but....I don't want to!

All the food you've been talking about sounds interesting.;) We always get chinese food for New Years Eve and we've recently started eating at Friendlys on Christmas Eve. We do this with just the 4 of us.

D&DDisney: Nice Poem! What a Croc!

Bopsmom: You are dating yourself with Welcome Back Kotter. We actually watched a couple of episodes about a month ago when they were have a special on TVland. "Up your nose with a rubber hose!".--I'm with you on the I'd rather be 40 then pregnant.

MagiKitty: Hurray for John! Maria will do better next time. You go girl!--I've heard that AAA TAs can be hit or miss. We had a good one the last time we went to Disney but then again my DH delt with her and he is a very laid back go with the flow kind of guy. I'm more of the anal retentive kind of girl.

racetrack: Hey there! How's the sleeping in going?

M&N: I can't believe they charge you $2 extra a month for a guide channel. For the price you have to pay to begin with it should be FREE!

Donkey Butt!

Did you have a good lunch?

pepper: Howdy! Just noticed your ticker. Woo Hoo!

Disney54us: Aloha!

lighttech: Have fun Sunday! Don't forget the earplugs!:rotfl:

Tomorrow is finally a free day. No appts, no lessons, no nothing! Well, I still have to do chores but those are normal every day stuff.

Donkey Butt!

Pikester-Sleeping? :confused3 What's that? Now listen up, young lady. You just call that doctor up and make an appointment. If you can't type, who is going to humor us with her dirty mind? Well?

Racetrack, please tell my your TA's name wasn't Sherri! :scared1:

Its so important to stay hydrated while at Disney, but goodness if I don't get the heebie-jeebies throwing all those plastic water bottles away.

Did you know you can go to any CS at Disney and ask for a glass of water and they will give it to you for free?? How cool is that? I just learned about that the other day right here on DIS.

4.gif
Because:
1) They can't help themselves
2) They don't want to
3) They like to hear themselves talk
4) They are always right
5) They are NEVER wrong
6) They NEVER DO anything wrong
7) They like putting others down
8) They are donkey butts (family thread ;) )
9) All of the above

I knew that one and I learned it right here too. We do that alot and then I also carry those little individual packets of drink mixes...Crystal Light, Kool-aid, and I think I've even seen some sport drinks like Gatorade. I don't like to use the water fountains because I've read too many reports of people using them as a "baby bidet". :scared1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

EWWWWW!!!:lmao: Now that is one thread I bet we would all agree on "Please don't put your babies butts in the water fountain". Ha ha

:grouphug: Hi killers, wish I was good at all those smilies that you are and I would have one looking like i was on a treadmill running up hill. Almost there got to page 135:banana:.

I know I would remember everything at least to comment on yes you are all going thank God that was so yesterday last month etc.

So summing up some things. I see there has been some bad weather and glad all are safe, we have learned that pastors, priest etc. are not God and sometimes not even a good human being.
Pepper, from as far as I have read heres a:thumbsup2 to your dad's new doc. I think this is going to come out better then you thought. Have to comment on the post about your dad's comment about the killers:rotfl2: Gosh, I don't know him but love that man. Prayers and :wizard: coming his way.

Congrat's Magikitty on your dad's 8th year kidney transplant. I know you didn't enjoy dealing with the evil's but the stories were funny:rotfl2:.
From my perspective I was reading back all the way to the 1st week of June.

Killers if you do it that way forget all those books you have talked about, this is the best continuing story around :thumbsup2.

Soooo would love to see the Counting Crows, love them.. Would'nt you really love to know who Maria is???? Must have been some love or heattbreak maybe both.

You Killers crack me up with SOB stuff and pictures, I was there when I was a kid. We drove to FL, Miami to be exact if I was good with smilies I would have the music bouncing to Miami, Miami (Will Smith).

We did go see Wall-E and if I haven't been able to keep up with the killers yaall know I haven't been lurking other threads. Love it it was a great film for kids and adults. Went to a 10:30am tic's just $6.00 and bought the kids snacks for all of us:rotfl2: it worked how much buttered popcorn can you eat that early:confused3 ?

Bobpsmom as I posted b/f I left a big thanks did get in on the tree swap. Do have to agree through notifications about the person who's not crafty doesn't have time but can I get three tree's!!!!!! Give me a break go and buy them at target and ship them. Part of the fun is participating not asking for give me more. Rec'd email about the new booking rules, Be wary when you venture over to the DVC boards:scared1: it can be scary very scary. There are many nice folks but boy let me tell you the love there share of being obnoxious just like some of the threads on the CB. If you are upset about game playing, here's a few to set you on fire. AS anyone can realize I am not the plan it to the max type, that said I've been a DVC member since 97. So we usually would go the first week of Dec. or a little into the next. WE didn't go in 06 b/c we took the DVC member cruise that was at the end of Oct. last year of course I have never booked day by day and called no not on the 11 month mark (but never had a problem b/f) and all I could get was 4 out of 7 days we wanted and I was flexable. Remember I'm the mommy who pulls her kids from school. Okay, but go on ebay and watch the pro's who own DVC and sell them as a business:scared1: For the same time I wanted to go but couldn't. Of course there were threads on there about do you sell your pts. etc and as always no matter what the original OP starts you have those who well lets say should try for there local debate team.

Sorry to here about your friend such a young age prayers are with his wife, child and family.

Guys, I am trying to do this from memory:rotfl2:, so I am not trying to put more importance on what has gone on the past few months from anybody else's.

Kim glad to here you got a new job and service advisor's can bring in very good money:thumbsup2. Funny didn't get that far as of last night and wnet to a mexican restaurant that mom just had to go to with DN, Hope, DD and DD's BF. It was horrible!!!!! but at the table I had just gotten reading your tipping problems and posed the question if this was your bill and you told some one they were the best waitress they ever had. Is $5.00 on a $75.00 acceptable. Even DD 17 1/2 who can only figure tips on her cell phone rolled her eyes. So very glad to come further in the summer and see you found a new job. Oh btw, the food was bad but it was not her fault and we still left 20%, the service was good.

Dark Shadows!!!! Loved that show I think it use to come on at 3:30 NY time when I was a kid that's where we lived. Angelic loved her loved the name and she was so pretty wanted to look like her.

Love the Hersey Park pic's racerwho r u and M& M, so cool that you guys got to meet up. Loved reading the part about Kyle girls DD holding your hand.
Lighttech, have read all updates about litle TK so glad all is going well and you big boy:angel: how sweet he is.
Pikester, I was sorta going MIA as you were being the nite owl I use to be. I've read about the bike races the weather and is it you who ran out of yellow chalk???:scared1: How dare you:rotfl2:
DL are you in CO now or if I read the last 30+ pages will I find out your back?? Well I hope you are enjoying it or enjoyed.

Wendy, where's Wendy don't know if she's back but I caught the 60pds!!!!!!Wow you go girl.

Shamu I envy you I have it in my mind that I want to do a flip, to much tv watching or being told when I sold mine a couple ago and then staged DM's that I was good at it. I realize, those shows are alot of :dance3: see being dis nice but I still have this thing that I would like to do that in my life, sorta like my surfing thing.

Okay, so the problem with being so far behind and catching up is that everything you guys are posting about at the time has change since I read. Plus if I tried to multi. from where I left off you would just block me b/c we would be over our page count. I just don't want anyone to think that every thing that I read was not important I am working off of memory as said earlier. Okay, you may not want to be reminded of this, well maybe that booger smilie think you had going on one night wasn't really important, but it made me laugh:rotfl2: and believe me I can use some of that these days.

Thanks to all for there good wishes on my beach vaca, oh and racerchicky had one of those fruity drinks for you everynight.
Thanks for all the wishes for Hope and DN, she is a delight:angel:, gosh so inlove. She is over DM's with DN they went last night to spend time with gigi (don't ask explain later) and I have to say miss my HOPE 2nd night and it's not fun. DH was so cute and ask well what are they doing are they going to spend the night here tonight??? Me "I don't know" well where's my grand niece I miss her, he loves to walk her around and settle her when she is cranky and she will fall asleep.

Okay, to all the killers:love: :grouphug: I know I didn't get in on the 'flat pic's" but whoever has me slamming a computer all I can say is "perfect" because we all know who the computer wiz is around here??? Right???

Gosh should be reading the past 30 + pages but I posted and I see baby butt's in water fountains:scared1: and racerchichy a gucci post thread:idea: which do ya think sounds like fun I just might have to check it out. Didn't read all are these gucci fanny packs??? Don't like fanny packs who wants more bulk in there stomach???:confused3 Just me less is best:rotfl2:

M&N...WHAT praytell is your smiley doing? :lmao:

He's raising his hand excitedly to answer the question. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I don't like to use the water fountains because I've read too many reports of people using them as a "baby bidet". :scared1: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You are certainly well read!
2.gif

EWWWWW!!!:lmao: Now that is one thread I bet we would all agree on "Please don't put your babies butts in the water fountain". Ha ha

I wouldn't bet on that. 'The dr told me to wash the little but every time we changed it.'
5.gif

disney54us-Woah, you writing a book to catch up with us? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Only kidding. So glad to have you back!!! The Gucci things are actually called "waist wallets", I think. Still look like a smaller fanny pack to me. :lmao: We (my family) all stopped drinking out of water fountains because of the "baby bidet" factor. :rotfl:

M&N-there you are!!! I was surfing the net last night and came across this little tidbit. Made me think of you with your comments on the thread about turning 40. I hope nobody is offended.

All these young whippersnappers whining about age. Get a load of this:

To commemorate her 69th birthday, actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews, made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. However, the lyrics to the song were changed in honor of the occasion.

My Favorite Things

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, when my bones creak,
When my knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad!

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When my joints ache, when my hips break,
As my eyes grow dim,
I will remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

BTW, Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd that lasted over four minutes with repeated encores. Please share Ms. Andrews' clever wit and humor with others who would appreciate it.

When I reach her age, I hope to have such a humorous outlook on my life.

Don't worry about commenting on stuff. I admire you for wanting to read everything. I miss Fri, Sat and Sun night and it takes an hour sometimes to read it!

I'm sure even a gg won't improve my fanny.

I have gotten the Julie Andrews song in an email. It's cute. Hey, I'm probably the oldest TKer. I don't worry about age. Sometimes I do feel old but that's to be expected. :3dglasses

I looked at it as very "tongue in cheek" And like you said, I would rather have these things than the alternative.

Cute on the Julie Andrew's song, waistwallets still would go for the Gucci back back pack or the tote would be nice do I here any offer's:rotfl2:.

Ewwwww, what the heck is wrong with people baby bidets dosen't Everyone know WDW has a baby station at every park????? Surprised they haven't done away with water fountains, sorta like they don't sell gum at the parks or in the hotels.

M&N, remember we are as young as we have fun!!!:goodvibes

Oh and btw, I still need to read the 30+ pages b/c I may have missed something and we all know I hate being clueless:lmao: :rotfl2:
