Afternoon!!! Just stopping in quick. Going to car shopping this evening.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Be back later.

New car? What's that? :rotfl:
I've been driving my car for over 14 years now... Just praying it holds on until DHs car payments are done. We don't want to have 2 car payments at the same time. I was supposed to get a new car... but, DH stole my turn. :rolleyes1 He was leasing when we got married, which just didn't make sense for us, so we stopped the lease and bought him a pick up truck (he was starting his own business at the time, and needed to be able to haul a ladder, etc. if necessary.) So, no new car for me. Then, when gas prices started to go up (and I'm talking in the $2 days when we thought we were in trouble... little did we know) we got rid of the pick up and got his Vibe that he has now. I know we've saved a ton of $ on the gas (plus its a really convenient family car), but, I am still waiting for my turn.

My car is a Toyota Celica that I bought when I was 17. I'm so glad its still running well (knock wood) and I will always love my little car, but what I wouldn't give for a 4 door now that I'm a Mommy w/ a toddler in a carseat and another one on the way instead of a happy-go-lucky high schooler. Its a comedy of errors watching pregnant me try to buckle DS in in the back seat while hunched over and bunched into my sporty little car! :rotfl: This was not a consideration 14 yrs ago when I picked it out!

That's the other reason I love my Sienna-it was the first "new" car I owned and has been paid for for years. I started out with VW's, moved to old company cars, etc. but never a brand-spanking new one.
I don't know what I will do about landscaping with a hatchback? Can you put a trailer on a hybrid.

Not manly:rotfl2: the man has fathered 2 kids-what does he have to prove now?:rotfl2:
My Sienna, has a sun roof-DD loved that on the 1st day of spring I would fly a kite out of it in carpool line, all leather interior, a sound system that can match the "thumpers" on the road, it can also take pretty much anything "off the line". I have taken out the last row to say mileage but may just "stash" it at DM's house until I am able to let it go.:lmao:

lighttech-Our minivan is our first "new" car too. Or actually, the "newest" used car we have bought. DH also has an older pick-up that he likes to think he can fix up. :lmao: I only let him buy it for those days when he is getting on my nerves so I can send him outside to work on his truck. :lmao:

:lmao: I had no idea you could fly a kite out of a sunroof!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: That's when I suggest DH get on his computer and "take it easy for a while honey." Translation... "You are worse than the kid and I can't entertain you, go away." :rotfl:

Pikester - I know you aren't on right now, but I'll probably be off by the time you are... Was it your DH that was into model trains?

Whoever's DH it was, I need some model train expertise... I'm trying to do a little set up on a ledge that is in DSs new "big boy room" and I need to try and figure out what is available as far as starts and stops and remote controls...

:lmao: I had no idea you could fly a kite out of a sunroof!!
You can-and I do-much to DD's chagrin.:rotfl2: A small flexifoil kite works perfectly and only needs a puff of air to sail and folds into a small bag that can store in the glove box 'cause you never know when you need to fly a kite (actually, in the:snooty:neighborhood I live in, I get told to do it often :rotfl: )
I have a whole collection of kites-airplanes, huge flexifoils that can pick you up off the ground, parrots, dragons you name it.

The trains sound awesome!:thumbsup2 MY DF built trains for him;), I mean my brothers.

OMG, page 141!!!!!! Y'all have been CHATTY while I've been away! I posted my blog for the whole trip--link in my siggie--if you're interested. Home and crazy busy getting the kids ready to leave for camp tomorrow. NOT looking forward to another day of driving!

Thanks guys for all the :hug:

DH was funny last night, after the call and my post to ya'll he went to start the grill for dinner-figured since we had to canel the Sunday party we should at least get a good meal-that's when he discovered that he was out of propane.:rotfl2:
He walked in, said, "I'm putting the steaks in the garage fridge and we'll have microwave hotdogs":lmao: He came back in from the garage with a bottle of champange that had been out in the fridge since his birthday. I asked what he was planning-he said, "it's been a s...Tsandwich weekend, I'm toasting not having to have any more "family holidays" for the rest of the year." He poured 2 flutes and handed me one. DD came down and said, "what are we celebrating?..DH told her and she said, "thank god...give me a sip!":lmao:
Alls well that ends well I guess.

:lmao:

Hey guys!! I know...I know...I have not been around very much lately but "You were always on my mind" :lmao: Sorry I am just not clever enough to come up with smilies for that song.

Update on my Dad (news is not too bad...this time)

So my Dad went to the Thoracic Surgeon today and he was as "perplexed" with the test results as we were. Apparently our feeling was right about my Dads Pulmonary Dr. He did not come out and say it, but here is what he did say. My Dads tests are all inconclusive...:scared1: He said does not understand what they mean by "strains" of cancer etc... My Dad explained to the Dr. that he was clearly told he had Non Small Cell Carcinoma. This is the top Thoracic Dr. in the area BTW (Sentara Heart Hospital...big time here lol). Anyway he was concerned that my Dad was sent for surgery when it is not even clearly cancer according to the tests(still probable, not getting our hopes up yet) He said it could also be a lung infection. He said...and this was kinda funny "Much as I love cuttin' in to people I am just not comfortable cutting in to you when I am not sure what I am cutting...especially since it would take about half your lung" :scared1: )

Tomorrow he is going to be set up with appointments for a PET Scan, more blood work, a Cardiology Dr to be sure his heart is strong (in case surgery is indeed the option) and possibly another bronchoscope.

Guess we are back at the beginning. :confused3 They are MUCH happier with this Dr. though.

I need to do that! Let me go dig around for a pic.

I am going to go catch up now. Last time I said that I got all hooked on the smilie game and forgot to reply ha ha.

Praying for Dad!!!

My kids are big lego freaks!:rotfl: DS10 likes to put the sets together and display them. He does play with them but then it's right back on the shelf. DS7 wants them but they end up strewn from one end of the house to the other. What DS7 really wants are the minifigs. I wish I could just order those by themselves.(I know ebay sells them but the prices on some of them are outrageous because they are collectors items.) DH is always saying "We don't need anymore legos!" when the kids whine to buy more. We have alot of Star Wars and we've just started getting the Indiana Jones sets.

Have you been to DTD and seen the huge lego yoda? That was so cool! Unfortunatly the kids missed seeing it because I went to DTD with my Mom and we never got the chance to get back there with the kids. I hope he's still there so the kids can see him this time. DS10 is saving some money so he can buy legos at Disney. I'm sure DS7 will get some too; that and the build your own light saber.

DS11 LOVES LEGOs!! I'm thinking about a trip to CA next summer to do DL and Lego Land. Anybody been?

My DBro, the 44 yo virgin (REALLY!!!!) is a LEGO nut. He has about 10 things hanging in his closet, and about 40 plastic bins (plus a good 30 more out in his room) of LEGOs in assorted sizes, colors, styles, etc. Can you say "LEGO geek"???:rotfl2:

Hi all,

Just checking in to say Hi and Good-bye. We leave tomorrow am, bright and early..:cool1: If I can get some internet access (Wi Fi) in the wilderness, I'll send ya a postcard. I have an old old laptop I take along to play movies for the kids as we drive. Beats having to buy a DVD player and sometimes I can get an internet connection.

Have a great week everyone. Don't have too much fun w/o me. :sad1:

Well, by now you're probably back, but have a good trip!:lmao:

I'll try to read some more tomorrow night when I get home, and certainly on Monday. Not so busy this week with the kids gone. But I DO have to get ready for Scotland! Can't believe we leave Friday night!

Shmu, I will send you a picture of me as soon as I get a chance to scan it and email. It's a picture from the cruise. I bought it, despite the rediculous price, because I LOOK THIN!!

BTW, I lost a total of 1.6 pounds on vacation. Not bad! I really AM the skinny sister! And only about 20 pounds above DBro, and 30 above DDad!! Everyone else GAINED on the trip, but not me! (Na nee na nee boo boo!!!)

OK, it's tomorrow. Time for bed!

Thanks. I know I shouldn't need the outside approval, but its nice to have someone agree that you are doing alright once in a while.
:goodvibes

I have a "special" picture that I post on threads when I see this attitude

Mines,Mines, Gotta Get Mines!

Please feel free to use it in appropriate situations:goodvibes

LightechHave a wonderful evening, relax, reconnect with DH and enjoy yourself! :goodvibes  :cool1:

LOVE that pic! After watching Nemo I kept on saying "mine, mine ,mime' for a week.

We traded our Sienna in for the Titan last year. Originally planned to get a trailer but decided on a tent trailer instead. Worked out ok as the tent trailer doesn't affect our gas millage much.

whgrnCongrats on the weight loss WHILE ON A TRIP!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Good morning everyone!! Okay I should totally be cleaning, but I wanted to pop on and share our pics from yesterdays Busch Gardens trip. I totally need to go back and play "catch up" because I am so behind on everyone. Anyway. Enjoy the pics (we didn't take many)

This is DD (Blue tank top) and her Best friend on Roman Rapids. I sat this one out because I did not want to start my day soaking wet (and believe me you get wet on this one ha ha)

Me and DD's Best friend being silly at a photo op: (don't ya love how your kids friends humor you ha ha)

Our Way too big piece of cake we found. Between the three of us we did not even get half way through...we had just eaten dinner...but MAN it was good.

DD and her best friend at dinner (festhause in Germany) DS and his best friend were too busy on the coasters to eat ha ha.

some random pic I took in the Festhaus ha ha

DS (right) and his best friend after they met back up with us. DS was not feeling good so he is minus his trademark grin...he got better after water. Geeze, leave a 20 year old to their own devices and they will dehydrate themselves in a second! ha ha. To the right of him is the really cool fan I purchased. Man, I am so going to take this to Disney. It really kept me cool all day and it was 95 and humid out.

I am a horrible photographer (DD is very good at it, but she was too busy having fun ha ha)

Ok, I am going to go clean my nasty house now.

So everyone is in agreement that I am not allowed to touch the camera while we are at Disney ha ha. You can tell the one pic DD took (it's the one in focus ha ha ha ha ha).

Oh, in my defense, the festhaus pictures are dark because I didn't want to flash my camera in that mans face. That would have just been rude lol.

OK. Gonna play catch up!

Thanks. I know I shouldn't need the outside approval, but its nice to have someone agree that you are doing alright once in a while.

I'm sure you had a great time. We all need to recharge our batteries and getting away from the little "angels" is a great way to do so!

I love that movie! It just worked. Sometimes it seems like the actors doing the parts are too, I don't know, reading from the script. Ellen did such a great job as Dory you can actually see Dory as a "person". Does that make any sense?

We are looking at the Dodge Durango and Chevy Suburban. We have a minivan now but DH is not happy about it. You know, he's too young for a minivan...it's not MANLY enough. :lmao: We use to have a Suburban years ago and loved it. With 4 children, it was plenty of room for them not to bug each other. :rotfl2:

I looked at the Siennas on line and they sure are nice. Even mentioned that to DH as an option. But it's a minivan. :sad2:

How's DD and DH feeling?

I love my Sienna! We just bought ours last November. We have the LE. The Sienna is the first brand spankin new vehicle I have ever owned.

That's the other reason I love my Sienna-it was the first "new" car I owned and has been paid for for years. I started out with VW's, moved to old company cars, etc. but never a brand-spanking new one.

I popped over to your blog and read about your trip. I will post some thoughts over there soon.

Lego Land sounds really cool. Not sure if we would ever get there though. I know my DS11 and DS7 would totally freak if we did go there. I can't wait for them to see the Lego store at DTD.

Hello Everyone!

I stopped by last night and read the posts but my brain was to tired to respond.

pepper: Looks like you had a good time a Bush Gardens. I'm glad DS20 felt better so he could take part in the fun.

DL55: Hello!

I had a decent day shopping yesterday. I got a little upset because when I tried on a pair of jeans I had to go up a size! I was not happy about it! Time to buckle down, walk more and stop eating junk! I keep telling myself to do all that but this opened my eyes and has given me the drive to do it.

I did come home with the jeans because I needed to replace a pair that had a hole in the butt (probably because my butt was so big it needed room to expand! ) I also bought a blk/white skirt, a pretty blk/wht/red shirt w/silver sparkles, blk capri pants, 3 prs of pants for DS7, an arm band for my ipod and a pkg of magnetic clips for my door (I think it's metal) at Pop when we go in Dec. I'm hoping to clip a piece of paper to the door and get signatures of fellow Poppers to save as a momento.

My Mom and I ate at Applebees. I had a wrap with chicken, fries, and a spicy dip for the wrap. I'm sure I could have eaten healthier but that was after I tried on the jeans and was to cranky to care. Have got to stop that emotional eating!

I didn't get home until 5pm and just wanted to unwind. It was really weird yesterday. The mall we went to was really quiet. Heck the whole city was quiet. It was Hazy, Hot and Humid with a temp of 91 so I don't know if that made sound harder to travel or if everyone else was at the beach. Whichever we didn't have to fight crowds.

We did get yelled at by an employee at the Bon Ton. Jcpenny opened at 8am but the other stores didn't open until 10am when the mall opened. We headed towards the Bon Ton but we weren't paying attention to the time. We did noticed the gate up a little ways, Mom and I headed towards another store, changed our minds and decided to go back to the Bon Ton where we saw that the gate was all the way up. We started to walk into the store and an employee behind the register was like "EXCUSE ME! WE ARE NOT OPEN YET! THE GATE WENT UP BY ITSELF SO WE ARE NOT OPEN! Now, I have no problem with coming back. But jeeze, did you have to yell at me! She didn't say anything offensive; it was just the tone. I think she realized how she sounded because when she came back she was apologetic and apologized again when my Mother was checking out about 30 minutes later.

Well, that's it for now. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hello everyone!!! First time I've been able to get on here today because..........WE WENT TO THE BEACH!!!! DH and I were just sitting around talking last night and decided just to go to the beach today. Totally spur of the moment and it felt so good. We haven't done anything like that for a while. With 4 kids, spurt of the moment does not exhist anymore. :lmao: We packed up whatever stuff we had here to lunch, bought some Gatorade and iced tea, and just took off.

The kids had a great time. No fighting, no whining. :woohoo: DS was a dream today. No bad attitude or anything because he wasn't at his mom's. (She never called us either about picking him up for her trip to Kneobels but we never told him that). He spent alot of his time playing with his little sisters and when we walked the boardwalk, he went and took DD5's hand to walk with her. :cloud9: I know the "good" kid is under there and that's who he really is.

We didn't plan on buying anything today but we came home with 4 new pets. 3 hermit crabs and one lizard! :scared1: Kids were absolutely fascinated with them. The lizard is named Jim Bob. :confused3 :rotfl: No names on the hermit crabs yet. I can just imagine. :rotfl:

2 pictures from today. The older 2 kept burying the younger 2 in the sand.
This is DD5...

And this is DD7.....

pepper-looks like you had a good time at Busch Gardens even though it was hot. I haven't been there in years but I did love that park. I would love to take my kids there. And I think DH would like it too...he's never been there either. Maybe next year. All my indoor pics come out like that too. Maybe I need to check out the photography board on here. :rotfl:

Pikester-I'll join you in the "gone up a size" club. I decided to go through all my clothes a couple of weeks ago and I was in for a big shock. I don't when it happened but I am not happy! I didn't actually get rid of any that I may fit in soon but it still took me by suprise. I need to get out more and start walking longer. I don't know why the the employee at the Bon-Ton was like that. It wasn't like you put the gate up yourself. Geez, sometime I would like to tape people just so they could hear themselves. I BET they would be in for a SHOCK!!! Glad you had a good time otherwise.

I'm home for tonight. After going to Hershey, I was hot and tired (no rides) and there were storms so I am stayingt here tonight. I have to take Mom to dentist and then dr tomorrow but it's only a 40 min drive to her house.
I only read this page...Will catch up tomorrow night.
Racetrack---what beach? Was the current bad? Good pics. I would have recognized DD5's head anywhere! Glad you had a good time.
Pikester: Know where you're coming from with jeans. I gained back most of what I lost this spring. Real bummer. I went to JCP on Sat but at least I did not go to next size up...a little tight but can make it and hopefully will get back in the swing of things. I just cannot get walking in and I know I have not been eating correctly.
The Association was good. There were 6 guys. I think 3 were original members and 1 was the son of an original member. One I was not sure about because he talked about being in The New Christy Minstrels first.

Enjoyed everyone's pictures. :happytv:
Pikester At least the clerk came back to apologize. She knew she was wrong
I seem to have gained whgrn's lost pounds! Oh well, I'll just have to try harder this week.
