I'm posting this in red to get everyone's attention. M&N brought up Magsnden not checking in and I went through and checked for her last post. It was on 6/3. MagiKitty mentioned that she sent a pm to her and never heard back. She hasn't checked the boards. I'm a worrier by nature...can't get past that no matter how hard I try. I miss her around here and hope all is well with her and her family and the little one to come. If everyone is in agreement, I can email her (got her email address a little while ago) and just check that all is well. I'll wait until Monday for everyone to give their opinion on this.

And just in case anyone is wondering about disney54us, she is fine but very busy. I email her about once per week to keep in touch. She's missed so much and worries about catching up. I tell her not to worry about it but it's a work in progress. :lmao:
Good idea.:thumbsup2

That was Shmu. She got her DS surfing lessons for his birthday (?). I wonder if she had seen that? She goes in Sept. so that will probably affect her. If she doesn't check in in a couple of days, we should pm her just to make sure.

Yes, it was Shmu who got her son the surfing lessons. I feel sad for them now. She hasn't seen it yet, has she?
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
I have to go call about this.

'Mornin'

Just checking in... I've got to catch up, but I don't know if I'll have time to get back on today or not...

Hope all is well.

Just popping in quick. I have another busy day but I'm hoping things get done faster.

I'm going to email magsnden tomorrow morning. If anyone has anything to add, just let me know and I'll include it.

Talk to you all later!!!!

What really makes me shake my head are the poor people who come to their board friends looking for help with an issue and they always get that one person who asks "How they could even think about coming on here and asking for help with their problem". To me that's just being hateful. You may not do that but leave them alone and keep your comments to yourself.

How about the poor person who comes on here to vent and gets totally bashed for how they reacted to the situation. I can just picture them coming on here to share and expecting to get alot of "Yeah, I know what you means" or "Poor you. I can't believed that happened" only to get trampled on!

Pikester-It takes all kinds to keep the Dis going. There are only a few posters that I have a problem with. I just try to avoid them. I have learned you need to have a very thick skin for this. But I could never imagine ridiculing anybody for asking for help. My opinion may be different than what they want to hear but I just couldn't be rude about it.

I have a long history on here...sort of. :rolleyes1 I've learned alot of things here, good and bad. If there is something I don't want people to disagree with me about, I won't post it. I learned that in the type of thread you mentioned. I asked a question and wanted a little support from those who had been in my situation before and the only people who answered were the ones who disagreed with me. I was wrong about everything and they were right.

Now if I need support or answers, I just come here. But I do wish others could be nice. And if they don't like what is being discussed, just skip the thread. Too bad everyone couldn't find a great group of friends like we have found here.
ITA with you :thumbsup2

Should we start a thread and ask other DISer what they think? No--better not. Some may think we are attacking him because he's so short. Then the over 50 crowd will say we are making fun of his age. And then of course you'll have those who don't care because NASCAR drivers are not athletes anyway and should not be wasting the gas.

What? You making fun of the over 50 crowd? (j/k) :goodvibes

whgrn I must have skimmed too fast, missed your story about your youth pastor. I hope you have realized he was WRONG! You are very nice and supportive of your fellow TKers. :thumbsup2

Hello Everyone! Just stopping by for a quick pop in.

DS10 is driving me nuts with his "I'm bored. Can we go somewhere?" I've tried to explain to him that I am not an Activities Director and that I am not in charge of his entertainment. I then pulled out the "When I was younger..." story about how both my folks worked so I had a sitter who lived out in the boonies and I had to make my own fun sometimes even, God Forbid  , play with my younger sister. He is now out in the driveway drawing a giant Spongebob with chalk for my DH to see when he gets home later this afternoon. I do feel a little bad for him because DS7's best friend lives next door and DS10 has no kids in the neighborhood that he can play with that are his age. I told him that he could have a friend come over 1 day next week. Thank goodness both of them will be going to Day camp for a Week :woohoo: July 21-July 25. I will be by myself for 8hrs for 5 days! :cool1:

Ask him if he has the gas and money to go somewhere. I haven't been roving like I used to.

Peace and quiet! Hope you won't get bored. :lmao:

DS10 ran out of yellow chalk! :scared1: Stop the press! We need to go to the store immediately and buy more yellow chalk! (According to him anyway!:rotfl: )

Good evening all!
To him it's just a normal bike ride that doesn't need any fanfare. OK. No problem. I'll ask him again tomorrow about being there on Sat. and see if he changes his mind.

[

Tell DH good luck and thank you for supporting such an important cause.

Hi all. I thought with it being summer and the kids being out of school, things would be relaxing around here. :confused3 I just got done decluttering another part of the living room. Got rid of alot of broken toys while the kids weren't looking. :woohoo:

[

Why is it that they get all upset about the broken ones? DS has a collapsible tent pole he's been playing w/ for close to 2 yrs now. Its so beat up, I'm afraid the elastic will snap and some random part is going to give him a black eye. He won't even THINK about letting me throw it out. (And he keeps track of it, so it can't dissappear.)

Good question. What can we call Mark?

I was going to say "Geriatric." (Wrong letter, I know, but right sound.) But, after the subsequent posts, I'm afraid I'll make someone angry.. :lmao: I'm actually just referring to the retirement considerations, not his age, but I certainly don't want to get flamed or anything! :rotfl:

We were worried/interested to see what DS(3) would pick up from daycare (don't know if this was on the old board or the new, but we recently switched DS from a lady who did babysitting in her house w/ only 3 kids to a full-fledged preschool w/ lots of kids.) Turns out his new favorite expression is "This is boring." I don't want to curse myself here, but I think it might have been less aggravating if he had picked up a bad word. :rotfl2:

Oh NO!!!! What are you doing on the DIS board!!! Hurry up and get that kid some chalk. Don't you know this is a life altering situation!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Glad to know they don't lose this sense of urgency later in life. DS thought he left a picture he had colored at school, and in the middle of me driving home the other day, he put up his little hand like a policeman at a cross walk and YELLED "STOP!!!! TURN AROUND!!! WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!"

Racetrack - Almost forgot. Whatever you think is best for Magsnden. Just let her know we are thinking of her. If you'd like to pass on my email address to her, feel free.

Hi all,

Just checking in to say Hi and Good-bye. We leave tomorrow am, bright and early..:cool1: If I can get some internet access (Wi Fi) in the wilderness, I'll send ya a postcard. I have an old old laptop I take along to play movies for the kids as we drive. Beats having to buy a DVD player and sometimes I can get an internet connection.

Have a great week everyone. Don't have too much fun w/o me. :sad1:

Hey all!! Not much going on around here tonight. The Nationwide race is coming on so might watch that.

lighttech-I'll pass your email along to magsnden.

D&DDisney-have a great trip!!! See you when you get back.

Pikester-Don't you know by now that you are suppose to have an emergency supply of chalk?! :rotfl: Oh man, if I didn't a hidden supply of all the arts and crafts supplies, I would never hear the end of it. And of course they always run out right in the middle of the most important project in the world. :rotfl2:

"Nationwide" still throws me for a loop... I think I'm doomed to call it "Busch" forever.

Thanks for passing on the email.

You're not the only one. Had to think about it while I typed it. And it doesn't help that they keep changing the name of the Cup Series. I don't think I'll ever keep that one straight.

OK, playing around and I found this one...
I'm at work late and I just need to go home.

This is pretty much how I feel...

Felt like that earlier today until I kicked EVERYONE out of the house just so I could relax in the bath for 15 minutes. I swear the moment I shut the bathroom door, all the kids are standing at the door to ask me a question, have to use the bathroom, fell off the couch while trying to jump over to the recliner.

How long are stuck at work?

I was able get DS10 to relax. I told him that DH would be so impressed that he even attempted to draw the Giant Spongebob that he wouldn't care that it wasn't completely colored in with yellow. I finally convinced him to finish it! He put a big thought bubble above Spongebob's head saying "Welcome home Daddy" ( he also added a little bubble off to the side that said "I ran out of yellow chalk" :rotfl: ). My DH called to let me know that he survived his ride and I mentioned to him about Spongebob (running out of yellow chalk). He was able to prepare himself with an appropriate reaction before he got home.

lighttech: Thanks for the smilie!

D&DDisney: Have a good trip!

racetrack18kb:These kids go in spells when it comes to doing crafty stuff. I use to have all kinds of things in my storage closet but they seemed to lose interest. So, I got ride of some stuff.

Only a little bit longer. I had a Dr. appt this morning (just a check up... and baby is doing good) so, I had to shift my day back. I'm hoping to finish up and get out in the next 15 min or so.

Which probably means I should log off... But, I don't WANNA! (insert whiney smiley) I never get to play when everyone else is here! (insert toddler-esque stomping foot smiley.)

Have fun tonight everybody!

Pikester-My girls are the same way about crafts. They will do them every day, all day. At those times, we will have to make a weekly run to Michael's just to keep up. And then BAM! Nothing at all. I would finally gather everything up and even throw away all the little scraps of paper that they insisted on keeping. I swear not even an hour after I would get everything out to the trash, they would notice and want all of it back. Now, I have a big tote box and I just throw everything in there and store it away till they want it again.

lighttech-have a nice night. Go home and put your feet up. And thanks for the update on the little one.

Hello everyone,

I have not been on in awhile. I am so pooped from working nights.

The great news is that my waitress days have come to an end. I got a job offer earlier this week to work in an auto dealership as a service advisor. I am going to start there on Monday. The hours are really long, but I guess every job has its drawbacks. I am just thankful I did not have to waitress long. I have a new found respect for all waiters and waitresses, the job is alot harder than I ever thought it would be.

I have the weekend to catch up on the board so I will be back to quote on alot of things tomorrow.

Kim
