Details in short form.

You all know how sick my DD was before she went on Mission Trip.

She was VIOLENTLY ill. Had me so scared.

She got back last night and had the best attitude.

Met some girls her age and encouraged them. That's all good.

Well..........she also shared with us that the Children's Pastor (who we love dearly but is a very high strung individual) was mad at DD for not eating at McDonalds the first day.

I had called him ahead of time, so he knew that DD had been very ill. Said I could send DD her own food.

DD did not feel like eating at McDonald's.....Duh....

She explained it to him and he grudgingly said OK and let her eat her fruit that she had brought.

Next day DD's stomach was still tender and not wanting regular food. She ate some Peanut Butter crackers that I had sent with her.

Only wanted fruit mostly from the meals being served.

She told us that Tuesday morning she came down to eat and he was meeting with all the adults on the trip.

Then he stopped talking when she came downstairs and told her he wanted to chat with her.

He accused her of having an eating disorder.

Now please understand, I am not making light of an eating disorder. I know how serious that is. But we are 150% positive she does not have one.

She was still recovering from food poison.

DD tried to explain that is the reason that she is not eating but he would not listen to her.

Now remember...I had called him before the trip and told him that she had been very ill with food poison and she would not be able to eat normally. That is why I packed special food for her.

He told DD that he was going to call us and explain to us that she had an eating disorder. DD told him...."please call them" She knew we would know what was going on.

He never called us.

For the rest of the trip he made such a big deal about her eating. All the adults were hoarding over her. Forcing her to eat foods that she normally does not eat. (She sticks with vegetables, fruits, chicken, potatoes, salads) She is a very healthy eater.

He even got mad at her for wanting water in a restaurant instead of a Dr. Pepper.

As if that wasn't enough for me to be upset over. DD explains that he talked about this "eating disorder" that she has so much on the trip and in front of everybody else that her friends started to believe that she might have one.

DD is so worried now that she is going to become the victim of gossip. She is labeled now as the girl with the eating disorder and she was just trying to re-cooperate from food poison.

Needless to say, DH and I are very upset about this. DH is going to contact both the Children's Pastor and the Senior Pastor to make sure they put an end to this immediately.

I hope I am making sense. I am still trying to calm down.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!? there is NO excuse for that! I'd be fighting like a tiger! Glad DH made your feelings know, and that the Sr. Pastor has already taken action. for DD--she sounds amazing!

Hope everyone is doing well today. I haven't called the doctor yet but am still having pains on and off. So worried that I'll get a lecture for not coming in sooner, or they won't be able to get me in this week and next week we leave for camping, or worst of all...they will find something bad. I know how silly that may sound, but I am deathly terrified to find out. My good friend died at 35 of ovarian cancer and I have been scared of any pain ever since.

Good God!!!! Y'all are worse than my mother. Surprized no one gave me a shaking finger smilie. Although...that butt was really cute Bopsmom. I can picture you showing up in my driveway and hauling my butt all the way to the doc.

The good thing is the hospital did an ultrasound, blood work, etc. and it all came back normal. My guess it is probably the endometriosis I had years ago (before DS6 was born) That stuff can be nasty and grow in the darndest places. Doesn't show up on x-ray. Wasn't sure I'd ever get pregnant. But after multiple surgeries & meds and my older son's adoption, we did have luck. And I had 6 painfree years...until now.

I'll keep you updated.

Hey... is anyone else having computer problems? I have been getting the "blue screen of death" every time I try to shut down. Hope I didn't pick up any nasty viri (virus plural) around these boards.

Stopped at a bra store today--I've been having a hard time finding one that fits, so I wanted them to check my size. I've been wearing 38-40 C. Well, she measured me as a 39C!!! So I AM picking the right size--just sometimes it doesn't fit well. The one I have on today I love. Wish i could remember where I got it, and the tag is no help. Anyway, she also checked DSis, DD, and both DNieces (we didn't bother with DS... ) DD, 12.5 yrs old, 88 pounds, 4'9", is a 30 C !!!!! Yes, that's a C on my tiny little size 0 petite baby girl!!! And DNiece 14 is a 30 D DSis is already offering the reduction when she's 21! So I went online and ordered DD some new bras. The one she tried on at the store that fit was $69.00!! I was NOT paying that much for a bra, especially for my child! So I found some for under $20 online.

It's WAY past my bedtime, but we just got home from DSis's and if I go right to bed I'll "drive all night", as my dad used to say! Toooooo much on my mind anyway! Anyway, 'nite all!!

yeah, Juan wasn't too smart about that whole incident. It was real obvious what he did and then he admitted to it. Had an argument with my dad today about the whole thing. He doesn't like KB either so KB deserved it and he was doing it too. Kyle has done it before so he deserved it. You know, same old, same old. At least when Kyle does it, he tries to be sneaky about it and then deny, deny, deny. Juan just needs to learn the right way to wreck someone.

They had a 'step on' guide from the area---thankfully---and I don't see why they needed the tour company one anyway. I'm taking a bus trip to Annapolis with the same company and I hope she doesn't go. I don't think we'll have one because they only gave a driver tip envelope. My friend and I gave the other guide a tip since we lowered the other's tip.

M&N-I just found some article about all the rumors about Tony. I"ll send it to you. And sure enough they talk about him maybe goiing to Hendrick. It's turning into one interesting season. And the only reason all the other drivers have for denting up Kyle's car is to TRY to keep him from winning.

Someone said something about a snack like the trail mix. Has anyone tried anthing like these? I tasted some flavored pretzels so looked up recipes.

ONION - FLAVORED PRETZELS
1 bag broken hard pretzels
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
2 sticks butter
Place pretzel pieces in jelly roll pan. Oven at 200 degrees. Sprinkle soup mix over pretzels. Place pats of butter on pretzels. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cook and place in an airtight container.


RANCH PRETZELS
Container: large zip bag - 2 gallon size
Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients
- 32 ounces (2 bags) pretzels, any shape
- 12 ounces butter flavored oil
- 1 package dry ranch dressing mix ( 1 envelope)

Directions
Empty 2 bags of pretzels into a 2 gallon zip lock bag.
In a medium container,whisk butter flavored oil* and one envelope of dry ranch dressing together and pour over pretzels. Stir well to coat. Stir every half hour for about 3 to 4 hours.
When pretzels have absorbed all of the oil, seal bag and place in freezer. Remove from freezer just before serving.

The seasoned pretzels keep well in the freezer.

*Butter flavored oil can be found in the popcorn aisle in most grocery stores.




SAVOURY PRETZELS

14 to 16 oz. broken pretzels (hard pretzels)
1 tsp. dillweed
1 tsp. lemon pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dressing
1 c. oil
Put pretzels in large bowl. Mix together remaining ingredients. Pour over pretzels and mix. Put pretzels on a cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. Turn pretzels and bake for another 10 minutes.

Nope, don't think it's as good as before. I liked it better before he moved to N/S Carolina and got "bought" out by ESPN. He used to have much more info/rumors in my opinion.

Did you have to post those recipes? Good thing you posted them after my shopping trip or I may have blown my budget. Well, there's always next week.

Got a question for you. I've looked up Daytona USA and see they have 2 ticket options. One is listed as Daytona 500 Experience for 24.00 and then they have a VIP tour for 50.00. The first ticket option doesn't give any specifics about what it includes. Is that only for the "museum"? Help...I'm so lost.

Hey. Just popping by. You guys have left me in the dust again!

I did glance on this page... thanks for the recipes M&N, that was me who was looking for some kind of snack mix. We're visiting BILs family up in Mass. and w/ the 6 or 7 hr drive, I was looking for a non-perishable snack to bring for the party up there. The pretzels look really good.

On the same line, BILs mom (its my BIL by marriage 2x... DHs, sister's huband... so, no blood relation if that clarifies anything. It always sounds weird when I say BILs parents b/c people think that should be my ILs.) Anyway, she's an avid gardener, and has always given DS gifts of seeds and plants and such (her kids don't have any children, so she's kind of adopted DS as her grandson.) DS wants to make a present for her, and I thought those seed cards Bopsmom sent us all would be great. But, I can't seem to find anything about how to make them. Anyone know?

Not a biggie, I'm going to keep searching online too.

Shmu---WOW! We sure don't want anyone to go through what your DD did. It certainly does help us all remember NO ONE is perfect. I know there is a big concern about eating disorders but he should be dealing through you. There's definitely an apology owed here, not only to your family but everyone involved. I do not see the Christian love showing through his actions and unfortunately actions speak louder than words. (Maybe not a Bible chapter and verse that says thou shalt not humiliate a child but the do unto others certainly applies.) And you know I think this also reminds us not to follow humans but follow God.

UPDATE

Told you that Senior Pastor called and apologized and was going to talk with the Children's Pastor (he is the guilty one and very high strung)
DH got home from work yesterday and Children's Pastor had called. He "apologized" as best as we will ever get him to apologize. He admitted he should have called us first. That is the only thing he is sorry for.
Believe me, I have all of my eyes watching him like a hawk. If he so much as makes one little bitty comment you may see me on the headline news.
All 4 of us have talked as a family and my saving grace for the next two camps that DD will be on with him is that my DS will be with her for the first one.
This month, DD and DS are going to be camp counselors at a kids camp for a week. And yes, the same Children's Pastor is in charge.
DS has already said he will stick up for DD.
I told them that I expect them to call me daily. DH and I will drive down there if we have to.
They leave on that camp next week.

So, what does everyone have planned for the holiday weekend? Nothing for me, I have to work everyday for the next week. I guess the restaurant thinks we will be busy. Maybe the tips will be better than they have been.
