Morning!!!

Shmu, of course your DD is in my prayers.

To all of you. You all must have been scared through this whole thing. Hope she gets better very quickly.

Here's the new smiley site that M&N found

http://bestsmileys.com/

Shmu: How horrible and scarey.
6.gif
Poor thing. It's bad enough to throw up 1 time! Did they try and find out what caused it? I don't think the effects last too long. Make sure she drinks a lot today. for your DD and for mission trip.

The new smilie site is http://bestsmileys.com/pageindex.htm

The DIS board site I found is http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1856843 It's above the community board under games. That thread was showing and I jumped on it. I haven't had time to really check it out yet. But I did find that new site that I can post from. I had another that I downloaded and can put in emails but won't work here. :confused3

I go to Mom's this afternoon so I'll miss the fun tonight---I'm sure racetrack will 'play'.

Knowing my addiction, I'll probably hop on befroe I leave.

I forgot to add these to the last post:

Thank you for the topics for BFF's husband. He really is a nice guy but only talks when you ask him direct questions. These will help. I guess I'd better study up so I can have an opnion. If he wants to know my info I will direct him to this thread and he can chat with ya'll too. Maybe he's not shy online.

Pikester: Cotillion is classes for boys and girls from 6th grade on.

Thanks for the link to the smilies! Cool! I will be spending wayyyy too much time looking through those now!:thumbsup2

Here is the recipe that I wanted to share. I was looking through my cupboards and found one of the ingredients and it made me think about this recipe. I hope all the instructions make sense. Let me know if I need to elaborate on anything. This is great as a 4th of July dessert. Red (strawberries)/White(coolwhip)/Blue(blueberry cake) Enjoy! (Let me know if you make it and if you like it.)

Blueberry Squares

Ingredients:
1 package of angel food cake mix, 16oz
21oz can of lite blueberry fruit pie filling (I used regular because I couldn‘t find lite blueberry pie filling)
(If you follow the tip at the bottom you will need sliced strawberries, splenda and coolwhip. Whatever amount you think you will need and splenda according to the box.)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. In a large bowl, combine angel food cake mix with blueberry pie filling and stir for 1 minute until blended (Do not overblend). Pour batter into an ungreased, 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish; bake for 30-45 minutes (maybe a little longer to get rid of the moist look). Cake is done when crust is deep golden brown and cracks on top appear dry(Doesn't look wet). Remove from oven and turn pan upside down; rest corners of pan on 4 cans of equal size until cake is cool (Keeps the cake from sinking). Cut into 24 equal pieces.

Serves: 24

WW Points per serving: 2

Tip: Serve square with 2Tbsps of splenda sweetened sliced strawberries (once splenda is mixed with the strawberries refrigerate a few hours before serving) and 2Tbsps of nonfat coolwhip. (That's what I did! The amount of strawberries and coolwhip that you use keep the pts per serving at 2pts or if your not sure make it 2.5pts)

I just found a smilies thread on the DIS.

Lots of great things...new smilie site. I cannot stay up all night looking at it...

Cool! I might go check that out. I am so lazy sometimes though when it comes to stuff like that. I usually just click on whatever my mouse lands on like this: :lmao:

Well, now, I CAN'T be the "night owl" here tonite!!! LOL!

Just got back from welcoming my DSis home! It was SOOOO good to see her and her girls! I miss them so terribly.

We went out to dinner at On The Border--Mexican food. I opted for the chicken fajitas. Wasn't sure on the calories, but figured it was OK. Came home and plugged it into SparkPeople and I'm lower than I'd feared! Well within my limits! I am SO pleased! See, I CAN make good choices!

well, off to bed for me...

Yay on your sister coming!!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Love it. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry your not feeling well.

Last statement made me :rotfl2:

Excited for you.

Cool day of nature.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I think ya'lls conversation will be fine.
Just wish I could join you.

:rotfl2: Hmmmm. My washing machine seems to have been shrinking my clothes too for the past several years.:rotfl:

:hippie: Good morning.

Yesterday was TERRIBLE.
Long story short.
Getting ready to go meet the Real Estate lady.
DD calls, she is throwing up. I need to go pick her up at her friends she spent the night with.
I bring her home and she is throwing up about every 10 minutes.
I postpone meeting with Real Estate lady.
She starts to settle down later in the afternoon and my DS returns home.
She says she feels better and she is fine with me leaving for a little bit since DS is home.
I go and meet Real Estate lady.
DS calls in a PANIC. (He never calls in a panic)
Says DD started throwing up again and can't move.
I talk to DD on phone and she is crying hysterically saying her face is tingley, her chest feels wierd and she can't feel her hands.
I jump in my car and leave.
I'm praying trying to decide what to do.
Do I need to call 911 or is she fine to take to the doctor.
I get home (In record time. Glad I didn't have an accident and no cop gave me a ticket. If I was stopped I was going to ask him to escort me home.)
I rush in the house and DD still says she can't move.
I call her pediatrician and they wouldn't see her for another 2 hours.:furious:
Said, no need I'll run her up to the emergency clinic up the street.
DS was about to pick her up and help me get her in the van but then she threw up again.
Then she was OK to walk to van.
Got to the doctor's in 5 min.
I told them she could not sit in the waiting room. Too week.
They took my cell phone number and we waited in the van.
She threw up 2 more times.
FINALLY got into the room.

She had food poison and was dehydrated.
They gave her a shot for nauseosness and a perscription.
Said she would stop throwing up.
Takes about 10 min. to kick in.
2 min. after they gave her the shot she threw up again.

5 min later the medicine started to work and she became LOOPY.:rotfl2:
Doctor made sure everything was fine and we went home.
DD fell asleep on couch.
I slipped away quickly to get prescription filled.
I returned in about 30 min.
She was throwing up AGAIN. My DH had just gotten home though thank God and was helping her.

Threw up off and on all evening but it did start to taper down.
It was getting late and we were getting ready for bed and we heard a THUMP.
DD had passed out cold coming out of the bathroom.

I slept on the couch in the den with her on the other couch.
Couldn't leave her alone.

She didn't throw up any last night so I am praying she is better.
Could ya'll please pray for her to get well quickly?
She is suppose to leave Sunday to go on a mission trip with our church to West Virginia.
I guess you could say I'm a little worried.

Oh my! Of course she had my prayers! Bless her little heart, I know that was probably very scary for you all. I hope she feels better soon.

Oh Shmu your poor DD

pikester that looks yummy.

Thanks M&N and racetrack18kb for the smilies links. I need to use better smilies to keep up with you all. :)

Bopsmom is the one with the great smilies. Racetrack and I just mess around with them late at night. It's fun.

Pikester: Thanks for the recipe...taking it to mom...even has ww points so I have no excuse!

Racetrack: You snuck in this am while I was posting...a hit and run.

I'll see you Sunday.

Have a great weekend everybody....

AGAIN with the no notifications! Y'all have been busy, racetrack and M&N. And you're worried that you'll have nothing to talk about??:rotfl2: :lmao:

Today is the last day of school! The kids have early release so they will be getting out at noon. I will be going to an award ceremony at my DS10 school at 8:30a. His teacher called me yesterday to tell me that he is getting the classroom citizenship award. I don't know if DS10 knows that or not so I am keeping that info to myself.

Way to go Pikester's DS!!!!!

She didn't throw up any last night so I am praying she is better.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: YIKES! Poor  baby! Hope she's better soon. Hmmm, Sunday, huh? Not looking too good... Prayers going up!

I'm SO far behind, but I'm trying to do my recommended "pop-in" just to let y'all know I'm still out here.

DS and I have been sick the past few days (nothing serious, just sinus infection/cough/cold kind of stuff... but exhausting and cruddy none-the-less), so I've been barely getting thru the stuff that needs to be done... (laundry looks like a mountain, and I'm ashamed of my kitchen)... not even thinking about stuff I WANT to do like go on DIS.

But, I did skim this last page, and caught up on Schmu's DD thru Peppers quote.

Shmu - Poor baby! I do hope she's feeling better, and, of course prayers out to you all. Food poisoning is just awful. I really hope she's doing better. Good thing is, in most cases, its a few bad days and then back to normal. Any idea what it was from? As long as she's staying hydrated, I'm sure she'll be fine, but I'm glad you took her to the Dr. With all these crazy bacteria strains out there and stuff, its good to get checked out, especially if she was so sick. Poor thing. That must have been really scary for her (and YOU!)

for your daughter and too!

You and your family must have been so scared when she passed out! I would have be yelling at my husband to do something. :rotfl:

Shmu: I hope your daughter is better now. How scary for your family. I hope she has the strength for the trip Sunday

Shmu, of course your DD is in my prayers.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

Stephanie is recovering. (Still puzzled by what caused the food poison.)
She has not thrown up since last night.
She slept very well. Slept until 1 PM (I went in there several times to make sure she was still breathing. What we mothers do.)
She took a bath and is sitting up watching The Cosby Show.
As far as leaving Sunday, I feel very comfortable about that.
The preacher's wife and children's pastor's wife are both going.
One is an ex-nurse and they are both substitute mommies for my DD.
I know they will take very good care of her and help her to take it easy until all her strength returns.

Gotta try this

You must have posted while I was posting.
Didn't want to overlook you.
Glad you checked in.
Sorry you and DS have been under the weather.
Still don't know what caused it.
Can't pinpoint it yet.
She is better and yes it was very scary. I was having to fight real hard to not fall apart into a pool of tears.
She didn't need to see me fall apart while she was so sick.
God kept me strong when I needed to be.

Sorry racetrack18kb! I don't have a picture and if I did, I have no idea how to get it on here. I was actually taking pictures (Trying to get a half way decent one) of myself today to send to Shmu for the flat TKer via snail mail if I can't figure out how to email it.

Hey everyone! :wave2: I really hope it starts to warm up around here soon. NH had that heat wave and now it's only been in the upper 60s to lower 70s around here. I think it's suppose to be warmer tomorrow. I sure hope so.

Oh, that's ok. The recipe sounds really good and the kids and I going to try to make it for July 4th. Actually, DD12 is going to have to do the baking part since I don't bake.

If you need help with the picture emailing/uploading thing, let us know. I'm sure some of us could help you out. :goodvibes

Sending some

Okay...this is classic. You sure summed it up M&N. Although today was warmer 80s and sunny. Kids actually wanted to stay in the pool all day.

that recipe looks - I mean sounds yummy - cause there's no pic. :rotfl2:

Shmu - Glad DD is feeling better. That was sooo scary for her and you. Poor girl.

Happy summer all!!!!
margaritasmile1.gif
Time to sit and enjoy a margarita!

Who's with me tonight?

I'll join you though I'll just be having a nice, cold beer tonight. Love margaritas though. I have one everytime we go out to dinner. I keep trying to talk DH into getting one of those margarita makers.

I just dump a Barcardi mixer (or whatever is on hand) and some alcohol into the ol blender and boom you have margaritas (or darquiris). I guess you could call it whop for one. :drinking1

Like that flamin' 18 ya got there!

So, I could make them with just a plain ol' blender? Everyone always talks about how great those margarita machines are and it's the only way to make them. Though spending a couple of hundred just for an indulgance seems outrageous to me. I'll have to go pick up a blender and give those a try next week.

Thanks about the 18. M&N posted that with the 88 though it was because he's going up in flames and not flaming hot like KB.

I gotta ask, you'd you get that map in your siggie? That is so cool. I've done alot of traveling since I was kid and that looks like a good way to show my kids where I have been.

Found it on the Camping board. They posted a link...
http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/index.html

Once you finish yours you have to save it and put into Photobucket or something. Then post to your siggie. Had a few others PM about this too. Wow, I am popular now!

I have a blender w/ a spout at the bottom. It is great and serves more than one purpose. :thumbsup2
