I totally would have given you a job!!! :goodvibes Friends first. :goodvibes Gee had I known all it would have taken was mentioning our lovely beach.....:rotfl:

 :thumbsup2 Thanks!!!

A passporter is just one of the many guide books about disney out there. The only thing different about it is it's spiral bound, come with little worksheets for your budget and stuff, and there is a tear our section in the back to carry with you in the park. No you don't need to go through anyone special to get those ressies. The guide book just outlines what is suppose to be the best way to get the breakfast ADR now. Just stuff about when exactly when to call and what you will hear when you do call. All very complicated if you ask me. I'll just let my T.A. take care of it. :rotfl:

Does seem complicated:confused3, why do people need to know what they will hear when they call? I would think they would hear what date? what time would you like that for and how many in your party. Gee I so need to write a book and make some $$$$.

Spring cleaning? I'm still doing retirement cleaning. Had to clear off sofa so friend could sit and watch Alvin with me tonight. She doesn't mind piles! It does take time.
I watched the food channel tonight. They had a cake decorating contest from DW for princess cakes. Each had a different princess. Very nice but really not cakes to eat.
One of my requirements for a husband was he had to cook---baking would be great too but I can bake ok. The saying always a bridesmaid applies to me.
Glad for you MagiKitty. Happy tears are great.
Now to the serious business...I've got a critter---not a skunk (PTL) that ate the roots of my plants out front. I didn't see his face but he was small and furry like but didn't notice a long tail. Vole or mole? Wasn't too big but bigger than a chipmunk I've seen around. Any suggestions for what to get? I don't have pets around but don't really want to put anything bad out for the bunnies or squirrels. The guy who was getting up my leaves showed me the roots it chewed...and they were fat roots. The plants just came up. I have to get to Lowes or Home Depot on Sat.

Okay we had a talk some time ago about safe lawn treatments and I said I would post the catalog I buy from when I remembered it. Here Goes
GARDENS ALIVE
5100 SCHENLEY PLACE
LAWRECEBURG, IN 47025
513-354-1483
www.GardensAlive.com

The catalog comes with a $25.00 off coupon on orders of $50.00 or more.
Very good stuff, and they also have things for moles etc.

Can you call Animal Control? That is probably what I would do. Tell them you think it might be "rabid" and you saw it chasing some kid and now it is in your yard. :rotfl: That should get their attention.

What is wrong with me tonight??? First mean...ugly thoughts about my awesome new hire...now encouraging fibbing??? Oh my. I think it is bedtime. I used to be such a good person ha ha. I will just attribute it to a stressful week. :yoda: (I just liked the yoda dude so I put him on here)

Can ya tell I am over tired tonight ha ha ha ha. :dance3:

Hey I was in that giddy mood last night to. There's nothing wrong with you, sometimes you have to mmm stretch the truth to get action:laughing: :confused3.

Morning everyone!!! Nice sunny today before all the rain comes again. :umbrella:

disney54us-I suppose they list all that stuff about what you will hear when you call for dining for people who have never done it before. I guess it would help them. I think they even talk about synchronizing your clock with disney's so you can get through right at 7am. Still sounds too complicated for me.

Well, tonight is the big parents meeting for DD12 Disney trip. They are going to go over all the rules, schedule, extra activities, etc. They are also going to do the emergency contact papers. Thankfully, DH's brother lives in Tampa so he one of the emergency contacts. That's what I worry about the most... something happening and we are so far away. I know in my head that's its highly unlikely that anything will happen but you know how it is. You still worry. I'm just thankful that there will be someone closer to her just in case.

Gotta run...time to pick up DD from school.

Good afternoon, friends. Beautifully sunny, terribly cold. Grounds still too hard and cold to worry about creatures. I've never even heard of a vole! The dis just teaches me more and more each day.

I got my Passporter last year, but its the 2006 version. (got it off that dang-old Budget Board). I paid $1 for it, free shipping. Its far too bulky for me to carry around in the parks, but its nice to have most information on hand. Still fantasizing about free dining, I had no idea there were so many restaurants on property! I never even thought of eating at the resorts, but after some of the descriptions and recommendations, I'll be looking into it (at least I hope to). I'm a big note writer, and getting all this info off the Net was just too much for me. At least I have a basic database. Would I pay every year for a new updated Passporter? No. But for a dollar, it was well worth it!

Parents meeting for field trip! You're lucky to have a emergency contact so close. I exchanged to France in high school, and of course I never though about what would happen if...all I knew is that I was going away with friends! Of course you're going to worry a bit, you're a parent. But think just how much fun its going to be for DD!

Oh, man who bakes. I can imagine a tower of frosted cupcakes awaiting me when I get home, a man in an apron doing the dishes. Aaah. Wow. What a catch. And looking like Beaker is a plus for me...you know I like redheads! Congrats on finding the perfect hire!

M&N...I'm with you. I'm living amongst piles. I move piles for my other piles. Its never ending. All the good intentioned "donation", things to do/read/organize "later", and that stubborn laundry pile that never seems to go away! I've made my peace with my random lifestyle, its not dirty, just personally arranged. I alway say that God forbid someone broke into my house, he'd never find anything worthwhile to take, coz goodness knows my system only makes sense to me!

I like that :rotfl2: Sounds like my system. For some reason my kitchen table doesn't have anything on it at the moment. Usually every flat surface has a pile, but at least I don't have trails through my house. :rotfl:

Are we talking "just" an apron? If so, then I'm right there with ya!

Well, I did say IMAGINE. And just the apron sounds good too!

D&D...I love your tag "Waiting to inhale 2008". Very clever. I just may adopt it as a mantra myself. Bf figures we can eat our way through the world, and just roll our rotund selves back to the hotel. He'll already be on wheels anyway!

DL55....how's the packing going? You're leaving so soon! Are you excited?

I do ha ha ha. "Just kick the trash out of your way" that's my motto.

Remember, he looks like Beaker.

Magikitty, Any word on when your weather is going to warm up? I mean it is chilli here today (60's but feels like 50's but we have a wet cold) Tomorrow it is going to be 76. C'mon down and get warm. :)

Hi to everyone, not meaning to leave anyone out, just sneaking on and my lunch break is over.

OHHHHH I forgot!!!! I got a promotion from Sr. Buyer to Purchasing Manager!!!! I was already doing most of the duties anyway as Sr. Buyer but now I have a "manager" title and personell issues to deal with too. Timesheets, people calling in sick etc....but I got a raise!!!!!! Yay me!!! :cheer2:

 Congrats on the raise and promotion Pepperw23! You deserve it (not the personal issues...). Good for you!

No, it will never get warm. Just trying to get above freezing these days. Spring seems to be as elusive as those darn Cadbury eggs.

70 degree weather! Hold on, Purchasing Manager, I'm on my way!

I had started to catch up and multi quote you all earlier, but then I got called away. Now I just have a minute. So, here's a few things that I can remember...

Dreamin' - Hope you are feeling better, and I know what you mean. DH had the cold before me and ON MY BIRTHDAY he slept in and took 2 naps while I cleaned and took care of DS (granted, he felt bad about it and I encouraged him b/c I didn't want him to be cranky when we went out to dinner w/ my parents that night.) But, the next weekend when it was my turn to be sick  I still got up on time, took no naps and wound up doing work most of the day. They really don't get it sometimes! :rolleyes1 (On the sweet side, he did offer me his chocolate peanut butter egg the easter bunny brought him last night... My pregnancy induced appetite wanted chocolate. And he said he could do w/o it if it would "make me happy." So, they get it right sometimes.)

M&N - Sounds like Voles to me. Try pure peppermint oil. Sprinkle it at the tops of any holes you see near your plants. Supposedly, the little buggers hate it and won't come out of their burrows that way anymore. Plus, it won't do any harm to the other animals. (It won't even actually harm the voles, just makes them go off to greener pastures.) It has to be PURE peppermint oil though... extract, etc. isn't strong enough.

Magikitty - so glad you'll be a bridesmaid!

Everyone else, I'll get back to it as soon as I can.

But, mostly I wanted to update you all. I finally got a call back from the director of the YMCA. They DO have openings for both age groups at or close to the times I need (may have to start DS a little sooner than originally planned, but I'll take it.) So, keep your fingers crossed!!! I have an appointment to observe classes next Friday morning. If I get a good feeling, and DH agrees, I'm signing the paperwork and DS will start his new "school" in May or June. So, thanks for the good thoughts and prayers so far! Seems to be working... I'll take anymore you have to offer that this turns out to be a good and nurturing place for my kiddies to spend their time away from home! (Couldn't find a p-p-p-p-lease smilie, so figured angel smilie could be me saying a little prayer!)

I'll try to check in more later or tomorrow...

Just caught this as I was logging out. Yay!!! :cheer2: Congrats!

pepper-I am so excited too almost as much as her. Yeah, we found her a bag at walmart. It's a cute little bag with enough room for her camera, phone and a water bottle. And it fits cross-body so we won't have to take it off at all. And congrats on the promotion. :cool1:

lighttech-I'm feeling better now. Still got the stuffy nose but I'm not so worn down. So, all is good. I'll keep my fingers crossed on the daycare.

So, I guess I'm not the only one who is overwhelmed with clutter. :rotfl: And for some reason, if I do manage to clear out an area, it just accumulates somewhere else. I just can't win. :lmao:

That is a perfect tag. I have to remember that.

Have you seen the show Clean House? That is unreal. Not even trails through. I watch that to make myself feel better. :rotfl:

How can you go wrong with chocolate? Where do you get peppermint oil? I looked at HD for stuff and I didn't like it. It killed them and told you to be careful how you burried them. And  I just remembered that I forgot to get Mickey heads.
We'll be singing the YMCA song for luck. pixiedust:

Y-M-C-A. Its fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A! Its going to be in my head for the rest of the day...Good luck with the daycare!

Ah, the memories. I very nearly killed a thread in the budget board today.

Oh I watch Clean House too! I've nearly stumbled into THAT territory, but I does make me feel better about myself also. I've had my trail moments. At least there are people out there worse than me!

Hey TKers!!!

Went to our big parents meeting tonight. Took almost 1 1/2 hours and besides a few details for the trip, I could have taught them a few things. :rotfl: But anyways, they are going to get to do a 3 hour animation program down there. DD really loves drawing so this is right up her alley. They are spending 4 days at the parks and then 2 days at DTD. The only thing I was surprised about is they will not be chaperoned every minute of the day. They will all have to be in the same park but they will be allowed to pair up and venture off on their own. But they will not have their park tickets and they will have every chaperones personal cell number so I guess I have to accept that. I trust DD completely but for the next couple of weeks, am I going to be drilling her on every single thing she might encounter down there. And I found out they are pretty strict with behavior. One of the kids last year was setting a bad example of our school and they made him spend an entire day in the hotel room. So, I guess I shouldn't worry. I hope.

It sounds like lots of fun. The animation program sounds like something the kids would enjoy. Are there a lot who have never gone? I didn't go until I was 51. She'll know the ropes too. Does she have her own cell phone? Make sure she has a recharger. Mine seems to be low when I need it. I really do not use it a lot and I guess it goes down on its own. Ask her what she thinks problems could be and what she should do about them. And you should not worry but probably will---at least a little. That's what mom's do. :flower3:

The part in bold....thank you, thank you. :flower3: I didn't even think of that. That is such a great idea. Yes, a couple of the kids have been before including the one girl she has really becomes friends with. So that's good that she'll have someone to hang with that knows the parks too. She has a cell phone too and she is always good about keeping it charged at home. They are required to call home every night too. So, it will all be fine. I was just surprised.

Another dreary day in PA. At least we're not having the flooding others are.
I hope it'll be sunny for HersheyPark on Sunday. It's called springtime in Hershey. Only 1 show and the water part won't be open but at least I'll get some walking in. Hope everyone has a calm and healthy weekend.pixiedust:

pepperw23Congrats on your promotion!:Pinkbounc :dance3:
lighttech So glad your child care is straightening out :woohoo:

I have watched those clean/ organizing shows to make me feel better too. I can't watch Clean House it's on a channel I don't get. :3dglasses

DSC00704.jpg

Next, my DS5 will be celebrating his birthday at the end of the month so I have to go start planning for another cake and party.

Hope the weather clears up for some of you. :sunny: We finally have sun and its near 50 today. It's also Opening Day for baseball and it finally feels like spring.

I think you can buy it at some grocery stores and cooking stores... not sure though, I'll have to look it up. (Its used to make peppermint candy and stuff.)

LOVE that quote!!

So excited for DD. Try not to worry. I'm sure she's been brought up to know how to take care of herself, and you'll have her prepared w/ details. And, it IS disney... not that there aren't dangerous people everywhere, but Disney seems very well equipped to deal w/ the situations. Having the chaperones cell numbers is great too.
We did a school Disney trip when I was in high school (I was a little older, 15, I think) but we had the same rules... certain things together, (we did a music class instead of animation) and the rest on our own w/ morning and evening check ins on the bus. Everyone made it home safe and sound if that helps.

Another dreary day in PA. At least we're not having the flooding others are.

Ooooo... Hershey!! I love that place and can't wait to go... even if I won't be able to ride any rides this year! I grew up going there, and it just feels so "homey" to me.

Good Morning all!!!
Looks like lots of good news today.

Congrats on the promotion Pepper:woohoo:
Happy Amost Vacation DL55!!!

Finally got around to downloading the party pics. Here is Nick and his army cake.

GREAT CAKE!!!

And, thanks for the well wishes everybody... I'll let you all know how it goes after next Friday's visit.

Gotta run... just stealing a minute. Take care everyone!
