Holy Ravioli I missed a lot!!! Magsden showed us her beautiful babies...how cute are they??? Pies, Jane Austin, VD (lol). Lighttech!!! OUCH!! I hope your face is feeling better.

My life has been crazy busy! Work is out of control busy so I have had no time to have DIS up in the corner while I work ...then with baseball season starting (college...way too early IMO) totally crazy week. I have some free time tonight finally.

My work had a seminar group come in on Thursday so that was a nice break. We had "7 habits of highly effective people" I HIGHLY recommend this seminar. Gave me a whole new outlook on life.

We went to DS double header today and froze. It was 45 but it felt like -45 with the wind. He was relief pitcher today and he did great. We were proud of him. I took some great pics and I will try to figure out how to post them for all to see. They won both games!!! YAY

I will try not to be the absent TK'r this week.

Why, oh why did I let myself watch Steel Magnolias on TCM tonight? It's a wonderful movie, but the heavy emotional stuff really bothers me. I think it's even worse b/c I have a beautiful blond headed boy like the one in the movie. There's enough emotional stuff involved in raising kids, I don't need it in my entertainment anymore. Okay, gonna go lurk around the DIS to get my spirits up.

Steel Magnolias is one of my favorite movies. Seen it at least a hundred times and still makes me cry. But if one of my kids looked like that darling boy, I would be an emotional mess just watching it.

lighttech - thanks for the nice comment on the pictures. it's funny how everyone is saying no one looks like they imagined, i was thinking that because of how dennis looks, you must all think i'm a blond, chubby kid!!!! he actually looks so much like DH, that's all i ever hear. i have to try to find a good picture of the 2 together.

i hope your face is doing better! that's terrible - and a blow to the face, ouch. it really makes your eyes water, right! i started to tell a story about when i fell bad skiing, but nobody wants to hear that so early in the morning!!!

how cute she is with future BIL. we have a couple of friends that have that same look going on. i bet he's a sweet guy and a mush with your DD.
so glad your brother wants to go to WDW with you all. you are doing the right thing by separating the room and everything. you MUST plan for alone time, otherwise it may not happen. you remember, we went in november with 7 adults, 8 kids? we had a good time, but we REALLY missed the time as just our own family. the week seemed to be missing something, because of that. also, if it is planned and known by everyone, you won't have the guilty feeling when you go off by yourselves.
we went in march, and we overlapped our trip - first spent time with my sister, her family and my mom and her BF, and then we stayed 4 more days when they left. it felt like another week! because we did things at our pace. hope i make sense?!

pepperw23 - what a beautiful family!! good job, with the weight loss! thanks for the pictures. and how cool your DS is a baseball star! i think it's early too, for college baseball. but i know that in MLB, it was pitchers and catchers this past week. i guess since college has a shorter season? it is early, and cold!

ok, gotta go tend to the kids (they always need something, keeping me away from the DIS ) but wanted to say, i also LOVE steel magnolias.
what a great movie! i even caught DH watching it a couple of times! you gotta love that husband (can't believe i can't remember his name, i know it's a little different!).

Good Sunday everyone! So, what time does the race start? I'm still frantically tracking Jane and she should arrive tomorrow.

What beautiful families everyone has! And so talented also! I don't blame you at all for being proud of their accomplishments. And how cute is dreamin's daughter--she's so lucky to have a favorite person who loves her back.

pepper...congrats on the weight loss! I keep thinking I'll start again...I did step last night, but boy does it get harder and harder. My cats also think I'm doing something bad and they keep attacking the machine from all sides.

A girlfriend of mine played Annelle in a local production. She actually had to learn how to roll hair! I was her practice Shelby for weeks. It is a really good movie--they don't have many feel good girlfriend movies lately. I am completely loving the TCM 31 Days of Oscar! Anything good on today? Oh, I forgot everyone's watching the race.

kaylajr nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear you were sick too...it's been making the rounds here too.

MagiKitty-thanks for the comment about DD. I love that picture but normally she's a little spitfire until her favorite uncle comes around.

magsnden-yup, he is mush around her. Claims he doesn't like kids and all that but as soon as we come over, he's running down the steps to take her for ice cream or some kind of junk. Nothing but a big ol' softie but that's our secret. I understand exactly what you are trying to say with the alone time. As much as I enjoy everyone's company at home, I don't think I could spend that much time with them. And we are staying longer than the rest of the family because we want to try to get to the Christmas party. I think I'll just give everyone a list of what park we are going to each day and they can join us whenever they feel like it. But I already know that every afternoon is seperate time. Between cell phones and disney transportation, it should be easy to meet up whenever we want.

In case anyone is having a hard time see my picture let me just point out who is in it. It's me and DS9 on the left, then DS5, DH and my mom. This was the vacation that dad was supposed to go on w/ us. Unfortunately he died suddenly in Aug. So it was sort of a bitter sweet trip for us all. We brought him along in spirit though. I had bottons made w/ his picture for all of us to wear (can't see them in the pic since it was chilly in the restaurant and we all put on sweatshirts)

pepper23 - You look marvalous and so does DD. Your DS is quite handsom too!

lighttech - Hope you are okay. Is your job always that hazardous?

Bopsmom - Hope the weather down there isn't too bad. We are getting your rain today. And, since we have 16 inches of snow that has not melted yet we have flooding and ice daming. Our driveway is a skating rink. Poor dog could hardly make it outside to go. Her 4 legs went in 4 different directions.

I know the race has started but I watch it more so to dream about being in FL than for the race. Don't have a favorite driver but my DS is pulling for Carl Edwards because he likes to see him backflip when he wins. DH likes Matt Kenseth.

Ok, so I'm such a girl. Watched Becoming Jane today and must go back and read all of her novels. And get my hands on her biography. Must receive the Collection sometime soon. Isn't tomorrow a holiday? Does UPS deliver on President's Day? PBS is continuing the Jane Austen tonight--but we're in the middle of Pride and Prejudice.

Giving my uncle my "old" digital camera (its only 4 months old) in exchange for a new one. Mom wanted to get him one so we bargained. I ordered the upgraded version of my old one in PINK! Very excited. Wanted to go Canon (I have Nikons) but just couldn't justify the difference in price when I'm perfectly satisfied with the cheaper Nikon right now. Can't wait for that one too.

Wrote letter to my girlfriend in Scotland. We don't even email unless its an emergency. Love receiving real mail. Practice my handwriting and love good stationary.

Rainy and icy this afternoon. Cooked meatloaf and root vegetables for comfort. More time on the stepper to compensate. Gosh, where did the weekend go?

we're not really into nascar, but we're watching the end of the race now. i'm rooting for tony stewart, only because my nephew LOVES him and i know he'll be so excited if he wins. they had the car here at home depot a couple of years ago, and SIL got him up early, let him skip the morning of school, and go see it. he was beside himself! very cool!

d&ddisney - do you think you can make your picture bigger? i really can't see anyone's faces - i guess it was your mother that i thought was another child!!! am i the only one that sees that picture small?

Okay, once again trying catch up. Thought I was last night and , my pos† was gone, was to tired to retype everything.

It is just a Dopey idea that I wanted to get in really good shape for June Vacation. So for the past couple of weeks I have been riding 6-8miles a day, walking on the treadmill and cutting out bad stuff. That was until DH brought home my favorite pizza tonight Add quitting smoking on the list and basically now I'm Grumpy
Voila, Disney Diet.



Amy was a designer on DISboards that did custom Disney designs for your trips-t-shirt designs, journal covers, invitations-you name it. She had a great website and did her work for free or a donation if you wanted too. She was a sweet person and not the only designer on the boards. This week she received a cease and disist order and had to take down her website and remove her art from the boards. It was sad because she was very talented and truly loved the work.

DD and her friends were commenting on their "style" skinny pants, white tennis shoes, buttondown shirts and skinny leather ties (can you say early New Wave?)
Their sound is kinda New Wave too.
Us old moms had to laugh when they covered a Ramones' song.
There was so much jumping and dancing we thought the floors would collapse from the vibrations.

Really bad storms heading our way tonight and tomorrow. They are calling for rain,hail,flooding and tornados. I will be rolling the storm shutters on the windows down before the worst comes through.
I will try to get on in the morning, but where we live a slight breeze knocks out our internet.

Thought the Disney Diet was going on that Disney thread I go on w/ all Disney recipes, mmmm you can eat your computer just reading it. That's a shame about Amy, seems like she was a very talented person. Jonas Brothers did Miley date one of them??, Skinny jeans mmm?, sounds new wave or at least imo going mainstream. Oops, forgot to multi, one the flower story Magsden, (did last night). Love it and it is not corney, my dad use to buy me tea roses, you feel so special to have your very own flowers.

Morning everyone! Haven't been on for a few days because the whole family caught some kind of stomach virus. It was truly horrible. In between taking care of everyone else who had the worst of it on the same night and then getting it myself the next day, I have never been so exhausted. I feel like I could sleep for a week.

Be back in a little....need to go catch up on everything.

Welcome back, and try not to overdue it, I would say no, house work and 1 meal a day. And at least 5 hours of the dis boards, until you are feeling better.

Sure, it came from a junior league cookbook from LaGrange, Ga. I love those junior league cookbooks from southern towns. They always have the best stuff in them.

Sounds, good!! Those cookbooks do have great recipes. I forget who was having the Superbowl Party contest that had food w/alcohol in it. The marinated beef w/horseradish sauce was from the Tidewater Ladies Junior league or one of those. DS use to live in VA.
