Not sure on the drums, I would maybe try DDD. I envy all who have done so much X-mas shopping, one day I will be ahead of the game:rotfl:. For those of us who haven't gotten that far let's pretend it is years ago and the Christmas shopping season doesn't start till the day after Thanksgiving! After all this has become the feel good thread, so those who have started shopping or are almost done:cheer2:, those who have not it's okay we'll be fine:yay: .
For all of you leaving soon, enjoy have fun, we wish we were there!! (really).

Love this thread!! I have been a memeber here for almost a year have have only, what...five or six post!! We are going to WDW for Mardi Gras, can't wait!!! Anyone else here from Louisiana??

Never been there at that time of the year, do they do anything special? I'm sure if they do it will be great!:yay:

I have never seen anything special for Mardi Gras, except for Pleasure Island. Here in Louisiana, the kids are out of school for three days, so it is a great time for us to go. I noticed ALOT of people there last year that came for Mardi Gras.

didn't mean to make anyone feel bad for not having much Christmas shopping done. I want this to remain the "feel good" thread! I usually don't even begin shopping until december, but I needed some "retail therapy" since I have several months to go before my trip to disney :santa:

Good morning y'all! Just got in last night....we had a wonderful wonderful time! We had some magic pixie dust...will fill you in on that.

Got "cold" the last couple of nights in WDW---60's! Hee hee. Just another excuse to buy another Disney sweatshirt...

I did some outlet shopping down there...great stuff! So much that although I went down with one bag, I came back with threee!

So good to see the thread still going strong...I have so many pages to catch up on! Happy welcome in advance to anyone who have may joined in the last week.

Looking forward to catching up with all of you! Big hugs!

:welcome:
Back Home.
Hope you had a great time.

Can't wait to hear all about the trip and your pixiedust:

Welcome Home Magikitty! Looking forward to hearing all about your trip.:goodvibes

Good morning! :coffee: Went to post and there is no quick reply where you can quote some ones reply:confused3 Is any one experiencing this? missingthemouse, no feeling bad about the X-mas shopping, wish I was half done:goodvibes. Carmen1247, I think in certain parts of the country kids do get 3-5 days off around that time which is a nice break in between. Magikitty, I 'joined in' when you were away, can't wait to here about trip and shopping!

Love This Thread!

ok, have gotten my laundry started so have a few minutes...

I wanted to post a few details of my trip on the trip report boards, but I have a question: do I post in the completed trip reports or just the trip reports thread?

Shmu, I'm going to check your pre-trippie out!

Went to TRU this morning for a buy 2 get 1 free on Wii games. OMG!!!!!!!
Never will do that again. The store opens at 9. I got there at 9:01 and there were 50 people in the store already in line w/ there tickets and games and the the games where pretty much all gone. :headache: So went home and bought them online. I've done more and more shopping online in the past few years don't know why anyone would go out and shop any more?:confused3 So much more convienent.:thumbsup2

Welcome newbies.:yay: and welcome home MagiKitty. We need info. For those of us not going anytime soon, We NEED WDW info to keep us going.popcorn:: Share, Please. I'll be patiently waiting.:surfweb:

As far as Mardi Gras--sorry. no info to help.

About the drumsticks -- saw some muppet ones at MGM at the Muppet store near Muppet 3D.

As far as Christmas Shopping--:scared: Haven't bought the first thing. Usually finished by Thanksgiving. Oh well.

Okay, baked ziti in oven so I can sit down and move this thread up without guilt. It seems to be a slow day today on the threads, maybe so many have started on there trips. For those of left behind we'll have to put in OT to keep this thread moving. since this has become my favorite thread I will do my part and since I have the time on my hands (broken feet) not a problem:tinker:

Welcome back, magikitty!!!!!!!!!!
well, how was it? i can't wait to hear about your pixie dust, and i'm SURE i'm not the only one!! please tell!
we leave one week from today! our flight is at 9:45 am so by this time i'll be in MGM checking out the osborne lights. cannot wait!

disney54us, do you really have broken feet?? what happened?

i haven't really been on here today, we've been doing a little (winter) spring cleaning, so we can come home to a clean house ready for decorating. we're still doing it, definitely losing some steam now! it's almost bedtime for the kids so gotta go for now. see you later!

Welcome Back Magikitty! Please, please, please tell us about the pixie dust.

I have to join in and say that my Christmas shopping is almost done - just need a few dvds that won't be available for a few more weeks, and a gift for the boss who has everything and a big ol' house to put it in.

Spending the next two days in full day income tax seminars. :scared1: Wish I could sneak in a lap top and keep up with this thread.:surfweb:

Finally getting a chance to sit down...the most dreaded part of vacation is coming back! There's laundry, emails and postal mail to go through, cleaning and preparing for the next week. Sad to put away my shorts and tees that I wore just a few days ago, as its gotten really cold up here and have to wear more substantial clothing.

My trip was wonderful, but far too short. My Wild Card Thrifty rental worked out fantastic--we ended up getting an enormous SUV called a Jeep Commander. While filling up was a bit costly, the extra space was well appreciated after hitting the outlets! Didn't get too much Christmas shopping done, ended up being "Greedy Smurf" and getting stuff that I wanted.

By far the most memorable experience we had was the Wishes cruise. I had been corresponding with the other DISers via email and was looking forward to finally meeting them in person. When we got to the Wilderness Lodge, we asked the Concierge where the Wilderness Marina was, as we were to meet the boat there. We found the dock easily, and waited. And waited! Finally, a woman came upon us and asked if we were waiting for a Wishes cruise. Yes! She said we were at the wrong dock! :scared1:

I was so upset by our near miss of the cruise, as it was my birthday present for my BF. But the others were so kind we easily chatted and snacked until we were facing the amazingly beautiful Cinderella castle decorated with millions of twinkling lights. As I was speaking to the woman who had reserved the boat, she asked what we had already done at WDW. I hesitated a bit and told her that this was a budget trip, and that we were only doing the Wishes cruise and MVMCP because we couldn't afford tickets this year.

(disclaimer...the moral judgement gets fuzzy here. I apologize in advance to anyone who may be offended).

The fireworks started and the music was so beautiful! I leaned against BF and whispered "Happy Birthday" and cried a little bit. It was just so perfect. As I turned back to watch the show, the woman placed something in my hand. I couldn't see very well, so I asked her what it was. She said that they were leaving tomorrow, and still had two days on their passes. I asked about the fingertip scan, but she said that they hadn't worked from their first day, and it was worth a try. Now I started bawling in earnest. What a kind gesture! Even if the tickets didn't work, just the idea that this woman would give us the opportunity to do more at WDW was so humbling. I couldn't thank her enough for her thoughtfulness. It was all too much. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

I always believed in pixie dust. I just never thought it would ever find me.

disney54us, do you really have broken feet?? what happened?

Yeah, I do! Actually, this past Wed. DR told me left foot could go into a sneaker, but right foot another 2-3 wks. Long story short, lovely evening, get together w/friends they have a beautiful 3 tier deck built in benches no back railing. End of night lets take pictures 3 of us go to get up 2 go in the right direction and I guess I did what you would call a back flip? It was elevated and below was river rock:eek:. The good news no head injury, the bad, 2 broken feet and 5 out 10 toes. The upside spending lots and lots of time on the boards, and I found this thread!:thumbsup2.

MagiKitty, that was a truly magical story what happen to you. At this time of year it makes me want to say "Yes Virginia, There really is a Santa Claus".:santa:

Thanks tiggerfan1 (I've been gobbled):yay: as soon as I figure out how to put it in my sig I will!
