I was listening to a recent-ish Disunplugged Podcast last week (Dreams Unlimited show 5/23/16), and it was mentioned that the resorts were phasing out the shower gel?! That this is a new cost saving measure? I know this shouldn't be a big deal (and yes, it is such a first world problem), but this really rubbed me the wrong way. Paying $300-$800 a night, and the shower gel is being taken away?

Anyone else seen this to be true?

I hope it's not true :sad2: Disney just thinks we won't notice all these little cuts?? You should see the toilettries Universal Deluxe resorts give!! Really nice, especially Portofino.

I hope it's not true, for the Disney premium we pay to stay onsite, that would def. rub me the wrong way as well. :sad2:

We noticed no shower gel at our visit at Christmas just a bar of soap. Cheap I thought. Very cheap cut back.

Maybe if we start getting charged a resort fee, they will keep the shower gel! :scared:

I swear the last time I stayed at a Holiday Inn there was Bath and Body Works themed supplies....including coconut lime verbena shower gel. That room was like $65 a night.

We had shower gel in April

They were however muchore reluctant to replenish
It sounded like on the Podcast that the resorts are using up the shower gel supply they still have, but once they are out, they will not be buying more. Maybe that's why they were less likely to replenish as quickly?

In my opinion if they aren't providing shower gel they might as well not provide anything at all except hand soap. I don't use (and don't think many others do either) bar soap for washing my body so that could be eliminated. But if a hotel offers toiletries I expect shower gel and shampoo as a minimum, plus conditioner in any deluxe hotels, as well as something to wash my hands with.

If they wanted to offer hand soap in a container screwed to the wall (similar to the public bathrooms) and eliminate all bar soap I would be quite happy as well, liquid soap seems more hygienic than bar soap.

I heard that podcast too. I believe they concluded that when resorts will offer them until current supplies run out.

There was no shower gel at CSR a week and a half ago. I called mousekeeping and asked for some, they just brought more shampoo, conditioner and bar soap. I thought it was maybe a moderate thing. We were at CBR in March and I don't remember if we got any or not.

Ugh, that must mean that CSR is officially out then! Supposedly it is all resorts, from GF to the Values.

We were at GF over the weekend and there was sea salt shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, body and face bars and lotion. We weren't CL. We were in Boca Chica with pool view.

Nice! So either GF will keep the shower gel, or they just have not gone through their supplies yet. As the "Flagship" resort, let's hope they keep it!

I hope they keep it! My aunt brought me some once - I love the spa toiletries they have. Staying there for the 1st time in September and was looking forward to hoarding some! :D
