This is my pre-trip planning thread for our upcoming March trip to WDW. It is my wife and I, DS 13, DD 10 and two grandparents. We are heading to CR with Magic Kingdom view.

I have my LGMH from Home Depot, and I will be on the lookout for other DISers to focker them. Here are some of my planning highlights.

We get in on March 10th and will start the trip with dinner at Chef Mickeys.

The next day we are going to head over to Epcot with lunch planned at Chefs du France. Dinner is at California Grill at 730pm with Wishes at 9pm. I think I have the timing right to be able to see Wishes either right before or just after our dessert. We have three of us celebrating birthdays on the trip and I have arranged for a custom cake for our dessert.

On the 13th we have tickets for the Astros/Braves game at WDW Sports complex. Our whole family are big baseball fans so this is a special treat to be able to catch the Astros during Spring Training and while at WDW.

On the 14th we are having lunch at CRT. For DD I have arranged for her to be surprised with the slipper dessert.

I also have reservations for Brown Derby, Le Cellier and Narcoosee and am looking forward to trying these out.

After six months of planning I can't wait to go!!

Have a great trip, Trek! You deserve it--I miss talking with you via WPASADI. :cool1:

Hey Trek,
Sounds like a great trip!!!!
I love the idea of catching a ball game while your there!
During our trip last October we also did Cali Grill @ 7:30 with wishes @ 9, it was truly a magical evening and I am sure it will be for you as well. I will be waiting for your review of Brown Derby, we have never been but it is on our list the next trip. If I don't talk to you again before you leave, have a safe and wonderful trip. Dont forget to bring back some pixie dust to share with the rest of us!pixiedust:

I miss our team working together too. Melissa, I am so glad to hear about Cali grill working for you. I am really looking forward to it.

trek,

Your vacation sounds great! I'm already planning our next one (18months is a Loooooong time!!)

One of my very favorite memories is taking the monorail around after a late dinner at Chef Mickey's our first night. We got to sit in the front car and were just in time to see Wishes at the MK as we went around. It was truly magical.

I missed eating at Le Cellier this last time. The baby was teething and decided to have a meltdown right after we ordered. If it had been McDonalds, we could have ignored him, but not there. I ended up taking him outside so the rest of the family could enjoy the meal. Maybe next time for me. You'll have to tell me if the cheese soup is as good as I've read!

I really miss you all!

It was awsome last fall, as was the pretzel bread, the mushroom filet, and the whiskey cake. I better stop I am making myself drool on the keyboard! I don't know if you guys have been to Jiko, but if not you have to try it! That is our new favorite, in one word AMAZING!!!
Hey AM, did you write a trip report and/or Dining reviews? If so I would love to read them.

I have a question. On Sunday night Magic Kingdom is open to 2am. We are having dinner at Calli Grill and then will head over. Would you stay in MK until 2am? The whole idea of it sounds great but I dont want to spend most of Monday in bed sleeping because of the late night.

The latest we ever stayed was about midnight. It was really cool riding things like splash mt. and TTA late at night, but till 2am seems like a bit much?? I would just play it by ear!

Just realized that March 10th is the night we move ahead for DST. Going from central to eastern time zone plus the DST change will be a 2 hour loss for us. I think that on our first night we will have dinner at Chef Mickeys and then watch Wishes from our balcony and call it an early night. Save up some energy for the rest of the week.

Countdown: 5 days to go. Will start thinking about packing later in the week. So far weather report looks really good.

I'm glad the weather is looking good for you!
5 days to go and you are not packed yet:confused3, oh I'm sorry sometimes I forget not everyone is not freakish like me and packs a month in advance! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm a compulsive list maker when it comes to packing. If I have things written down I'm ok waiting on the actual packing. I gather things together as I think about them, but I try not to pack too early. My packing list is on the computer and I customize it for each trip and print it off. :teeth:

I knew there was a reason I liked you!
Only difference is all my lists are in writing. Infact, I still have all my lists checked off and highlighted in my trip notebook from my Oct. trip. Maybe I will part with it when I do spring cleaning, hummmm.... Maybe not!:rotfl:

You need your list on the computer! :thumbsup2 If you saw my house right now (saw my life...) you'd wonder how I was type A, but there sure is that side to me. :rotfl2:

The show schedule has changed in our favor. For the week it looks like we will have two shows of Fantasmic during the last couple of days. We are going to plan on trying to catch the 10pm show one night as I have heard that the crowd levels for this are much lower.

I cannot wait to read the report......hold all that :yay: :yay: :yay: for tomorrow at quitting time!!

Have a great trip, trek!!! We want pictures too!!

I think that for pics I may post some using the tripod site by creating a picture album webpage. It would be easier to post a link here then pasting in a bunch of pics. We'll see how I feel.

Great idea Trek, I cant wait to see them!

My in-laws are staying in the Tower Club and it is my FIL's birthday during our stay. I called the CR concierge and arranged for balloons and a card from Mickey. I know he will be surprised.
