Our trip is in October, so this is planning way ahead-oh well! I want to get the Thursday morning that we have MM planned out. As far as I am aware, DL opens at 8 that time of year, DCA at 10.

7:00-9:30
FP Space Mountain
Ride Star Tours
In FL, ride Mr. Toad, Peter Pan, Alice, and Mad Tea Party
Ride Indiana
Ride Pirates

9:30
Leave DL and line up at DCA

10:00
Ride RSR, Luigi and Mater
FP RSR

Can I get everything at DL done in those 2.5 hours? How does my Cars Land look?

For your MM, best to start with Peter Pan and do the other FL rides you want to do. Ride ST, then get the SM FP.
Indy (as long as it is open) and pirates should be easy to get on at RD. You should be able to do all of those rides in 2.5 hours.
I hope DCA hours are earlier in October, like they are this summer. Depending on RSR line, I may want to just use FP, so I would grab that and then ride the other CL rides.

You can't get a FP for Space Mtn or anything at 7AM. Earliest is at regular park opening.

I also would ride PP before ST during your MM. And yes you can get all that done at DL by 9:30.

If you are planning to return to DL later in the day with a Space Mtn FP I would get at least one if not two more FPs. You can do that if you time it right.

Pick up FP #1 at 8AM for 8:40AM return window
Pick up FP #2 at 8:40AM for 9:20-9:25AM return window
Pick up FP #3 at 9:25AM

I totally forgot FP machines weren't open for Magic Morning. Also, why is it better to ride Star Tours after Fantasyland? I was thinking it would get busy faster.

No - PP and other FL rides are slow loaders. If you do not get there early it is likely to be a 30+ minute wait throughout the day. Also, the FL rides do not have FP...ST does. Plus ST is pretty much a walk on during the MM hour.

If you want to ride the FL rides - 9 out of 10 Dis members will suggest you ride them first.

I'd be shocked if DCA opened at 10am in Oct. Everything has changed since Cars Land opened, so most likely the 2 parks will open at the same time.

That totally makes sense about FL vs ST, I hadn't even thought of that. I will make sure to ride those first! I am so excited about Star Tours, it was closed for rennovations the last time I went, so I have never been on it before. Can't wait :goodvibes

Darn, that puts a major damper in my plans. I can just do Carsland on Friday, but I need to get a WOC FP on Thursday. Will they still have them available around 10 am? Or will they have run out?

WOC FP at 10AM? No problem. WOC FPs will be available until the afternoon for show #1 and if there is a show #2 then they often never give all of them out - which means they take walk-ons.

Oh wow, this is great news! Now I feel like I can take my time in DL for those first two or three hours without being rushed :cool1:

Yeah, we don't really know when DCA's hours will be during the week in the fall. Also, I can't really remember DL opening at 8 on thursdays in October? :confused3

If I had to guess, I'm thinking that both parks will open at either 9 or 10 during the week during "off season", probably 9 for October which is "more busy off season" now.

I have never been during this time of year, I just looked at Touring Plans with said the predicted opening hours were 8 for Disneyland and 10 for DCA. I do know that up until this summer, DCA has opened later than DL.

I honestly wouldn't trust TP with anything DLR related. I know that DCA has opened later than DL in the past, but with it being a much more popular "first park of the day" option for people this summer, I don't think they'll be staggering park opening hours anymore, unfortunately.

I've heard this many times in these past few days...I guess I made a bad investment in touring plans :( Is ridemax any better?

TP has great predictions for wait times. It does not yet seem to get the ins and outs of DLR regarding which days to expect crowds. I have always preferred RM over TP when it comes to itineraries because RM is more flexible.

:wizard:

I'd like to echo going on PP first. With your MM, if you get to PP within 10 min wait time, the rest of FL is a breeze. Rides like Snow White and Mr Toad don't usually have rides.

I think it's funny that DCA opening may throw a wrench in your plans...not funny "haha" but this happened to us this summer as we went the week after re-opening. Normally we would do the same as you: use MM and spend a good 2 -3 hours at DL before heading to DCA. If you enjoy planning, you may want to have 2 plans:
Plan A can be your original plan
Plan B would be if DCA opens the same time as DL during your trip, you may want to carve out a morning where you can commit to DCA as if you had MM just so you can get in line early.
