Thoughts on the photo CD?

Since it is a 5 night cruise, you won't have the aquaduck. But for those people who ride that, be sure to stop by shutters to have your 'on ride' photos added. You need to know the date and approximate time of your ride to seach for your thumbnail. Don't wait to the last night to do this!

Cyctorres, pictures of the minor children from the other cabin come without additional pay if you be sure to tell Shutters about it when you get onboard so they can link that. Adults in another stateroom are NOT included. BUT if the adults are in the picture with either the child or with someone in your stateroom, you do get those as well. For example, we had two stateroom with our family split between. But it worked out for us because while technically the purchase of the CD for the stateroom I was listed under did not include my husband, he wasn't ever in any pictures without either me or the children so I ended up getting all the pictures he was in too. Did that make sense?
If you are a nuclear family across 2 cabins then you can all be included on the CD at no extra cost. So even if your husband had been in photos by himself you would have received them.

If your mother or mother-in-law or sister etc were the one with your child in the other room then solo pictures of them would not be included, but your child would.

We bought the CD one time out (needing to download the pics) and a few cruises we've bought a few pictures we like already printed. DW used to scrapbook but the time to produce against the time enjoyed probably added to us not even buying pictures for this to be done. Maybe the reality of dozens (or hundreds) of pics we will never reference or look at again on a PC had us look at the value of and 2nd guess buying either the CD or prints. Our last cruise, we latched on to the photo book as their newer offering (think Shutterfly or instant scrapbook) and have enjoyed that immensely more in showing others (along with it having stock pictures of the ship) with it being ready the morning after created on the ship.

I think the instant gratification digital picture sales offer (on the ship, at WDW or at any other tourist attraction) draw people in by providing an instant memory they do not want to forget or loose. Maybe it is us just getting older, the kids older, the maturing of the digital picture industry or us just recognizing the absurd mark-up and value they do not provide. A picture taken with our phones by us, by a CM with a character, by one of our servers or another guest provides us enough to use for simple purposes (online, wallpaper, desk at work, etc) and the photo book provided memories we can reference if wanting to years down the road. So no more CD's or printed pics for us anymore.
