Thoughts on Sherri Papini?

The latest story out is that they left their house because they couldn't stand living there now, not sure they'll ever go back (not sure why because what did her home have to do with it, you'd think that would be a source of comfort; maybe she's afraid, idk), and that they left their dogs there. :confused3

From what I understand she was kidnapped out near her mailbox. I can understand not wanting to return home.

While it is a strange case, I believe she was kidnapped. While the husband seems a bit strange, I'm not convinced he had anything to do with it.

I believe I read her mailbox was a mile from her house.

Years ago, a friend was the victim of a carjacking. They wanted him and the car. Giving up his keys and wallet wasn't enough, they insisted he come along. He figured they intended to kill him, so he ran as fast as possible and they shot him in the back. He was seriously injured. Once he was discharged from the hospital, he never went home. He figured screw the mortgage. They had his license, know where he lived and might finish the job. I couldn't blame him.

She was out jogging or power walking on the trail. There are a few things here that some think are odd:
She says she didn't see them, they wore something over their face but then there's the story they stopped and asked her something. Why would any woman go toward a van to answer a question from someone wearing something over their face?
Other people have questions about the gofundme account.
Some woman left a message that she was sorry she couldn't stop and pick her up off the highway and described her as long blond hair? Thought it was cut off?
In three weeks they didn't change cars and go any further than 2 hours away? And they were heading back to the area (going north?).

I think she was kidnapped but those are the questions going on around here since we probably see it on the news more than those not living closer. I can understand not wanting to go home. You never know what info they have on you.

I think if someone really wants to find you, they can. It's probably more tied up with the emotional aspect of a kidnapping, and that's ok.

There are different religions in which women have most of their face covered...but that wouldn't deter me from walking over to their car if they were asking directions somewhere or something. No idea if that's what happened etc., but just saying I can def. see scenarios in which having the face mostly covered wouldn't deter her from walking over towards them.

This is a weird case, no doubt about it. I'm just going to step back and let the police and investigators do their jobs though. They have a lot more info and experience than I or any other internet sleuth does.

I remember when a young girl went missing up in North Conway. Just disappeared walking home from school. The rumors ran rampant and then 9 months later she just walked in the front door of her condo. I can't imagine the absolute joy and shock her mother must have felt.

She wouldn't give cops info or really even talk to them for a while. People speculated that she was protecting someone, that she had been up to no good, that she had wasted the law enforcement resources for her own games.

In the end, when the truth came out and the horrors that she went through came to light, I bet the ones who were saying the horrible things they were saying felt pretty bad about it.
It's natural to want answers. If in the end, she faked this, if her husband was in on it. It will come to light and they will pay for it. I just hope it isn't fake. I can't imagine putting my kids through something that horrible for a bit of money for internet fame.

It was cut off around shoulder length. I guess that could be "long" to some.

Another thing that is strange is that when he discovers she is not at home, instead of calling her phone, he use the "Find my iphone" app to track down the location of the phone. I know if I wasn't home, my husband would at least try calling me.

Maybe it's me, if my kid was missing I wouldn't be on FB congratulating folks and making restaurant recommendations. Yeah, it's probably just me.
Yeah, I can see how that may come off as strange, but life doesn't stop. It is consumed by your missing child, no doubt. But life does go on and other things are discussed. I guess that is why I didn't find it so odd. I'm sure every waking moment is spent in constant worry, but I just wouldn't expect someone to never speak of anything ever again because their child was missing / abducted.

Maybe after the first year but the first month? I would be beside myself and consumed in only that.

I also find it weird.

Meh people do weird things while in shock and grief. I knew one person who was worrying about stopping to get his weekly lottery tickets the day of his spouse's funeral.

I know that the authorities are being very tightlipped. And any info this out there should regarded as non-reliable. Fake details are often released, if that serves the purpose of the investigation. I do not fully believe that he passed the polygraph.

I wonder if it is true that he didn't dial her phone. Is he supposed to have texted?
If that is true... :faint:

I think I am remembering that it was reported that 'HE' used the find my phone feature.
I wonder at exactly what point the authorities were notified/involved.

I do know that he gives me the creeps and makes my skin crawl.

I believe that the authorities have stated that they have not ruled out any suspects.

I'm not following it, but if it's true I hope they catch the persons involved who did this.
I hope this is not another Tawana Brawley hoax.
....wow, now THAT'S a name I haven't heard in........years.
