Thoughts on resale via Fidelity?

Was your title company First American by chance? Because the exact same thing happened to me with the supposed closing documents having been sent, but never were.
Yes. They were pretty good about staying on top of it once the initial bungled transmission of the closing documents was resolved, however.

I haven’t worked with this company but their pricing sure seems to hit the mark sometimes. I have seen them post some good stuff recently. I was turned off by their fee structure for buyers, but wish I had paid closer attention to their list pricing earlier in my search, especially on loaded contracts.

I have 2 contracts on the go with them right now and it has been very positive so far. I am a first time buyer so nothing to compare it to, but no complaints here. Very fast responses - which I love because I am very impatient with my ADHD LOL LOL

I’m currently in process with Fidelity for the second time. Different agent this time and smooth sailing so far again. She’s been very responsive.

My first purchase was with Bonnie at Fidelity, too. I had another name on the DISboards, but can not access it anymore. The boards actual helped me make my decision to buy before we had even tried DVC!
I lost my first SSR contract to ROFR. Another contract came up fast, few dollars more a point, which passed ROFR. I was actually at WDW staying the first time at BWV on rented points, when I was notified I was the new owner of SSR. The email did go to my spam, but once found it was easy.
We have bought direct though emails/phone, too. However, if PVB doesn't come with a great offer, Bonnie is still in my contacts.

I’m working with Fidelity now - process was smooth in the beginning. Contract passed ROFR in mid-May and I’m still waiting for Sellers to return their docs. I guess that’s more on the closing agent than Fidelity but the only communication that’s been exchanged since ROFR has been initiated by me…frustrating.

In my experience, Fidelity appears to offer some of the best deals out there. And as others have stated, also some of the slowest response times from their agents. I avoid them as a buyer and seller.

As a buyer, I want someone to be as locked in as I am when I am in the purchasing mode. As a seller, I want to know that when the agent gets an offer they contact me IMMEDIATELY. I don't want missed opportunities. I'm actually paying for just that. Not working on weekends? That won't cut it.

One HUGE advantage, IME, with DVCRM is that my agent responds within the hour 100% of the time. I can send a question about anything and I've never had a response time of more than an hour. Not once and I ask a LOT of questions 8-) You will likely never get the best deal with them though. Gotta weigh what's most important to you.

This was our concern too but they had the right contract for us. We decided to work with fidelity since we weren’t in a hurry to get the points (just want them by 9/30) and figured if they were slow we’d just deal with it. Granted each agent and seller are different but we submitted an offer after close of business on a Thursday, we heard from the agent within an hour, and three hours later the seller accepted. We received the contract on a Friday and it went to ROFR the following Monday.

So far we are super pleased!

The right contract for you is really the only thing that really matters. Congrats on that!

The contract should have been sent on Friday, but that's a fair timeline. The efficiency of these different intake agents, as well as the title companies, varies widely. So many variables can add days, if not weeks, because of an inefficient process. I think all of the resale companies are struggling to get a better handle on this. I've been told that some of the companies are leveraging AI and internal software to cut down on their "human" errors.

Obviously it’s a sample size of one, but when I found a deal on fidelity (a deal so good, I haven’t really seen another contract that tempting since), the offer was made, presented the sellers and accepted by them all over the course of an hour on a Sunday morning. From there everything went forward as fast as possible and there were no delays. So while I know fidelity has a bad rep, there are def a lot of positive experiences out there too

When we were shopping for a contract, I made an offer I thought was fair for a contract listed on DVCRM. The agent took their sweet time getting back to me when I made my offer and he was fairly rude when he did reach out to me. Good thing, because I ended up purchasing my contract through Fidelity and it saved me a good deal of money for the same contract (number of points and UY). And Fidelity was extremely responsive throughout the entire process (I would hear back from my agent within an hour at the longest if I had a question, but usually earlier than that). YMMV, but my experience with Fidelity was great. And it seems like most people had the same experience.

We are continuing to have an excellent experience with fidelity - we received an email mid afternoon on 6/19 that Disney had waived ROFR. We received an email from the title company/agent (Cammy at DVC T&E) at the start of business 6/20 and received the closing packed in the afternoon 6/20. We have signed and wired the money - our closing has been moved up to 6/26.

We closed today and deed had already been recorded. Points of course have not shown up in our account but so far we have been extremely happy with Fidelity! The sellers I think were motivated so they were on top of their portion of the deal which was super helpful of course. We submitted our offer late in the day on 5/30/24 and so far it’s taken less than a month.

Here’s my final update and thoughts on fidelity. We are super happy with our new contract and the whole process with fidelity. Having sellers who were on the ball also clearly helped. 49 days from offer to the points showing up in our account.

We would highly recommend Fidelity and have no regrets or negative things to say about the process with them!

I have been watching the market for a number of months and I truly appreciate that Fidelity doesn’t seem to encourage price gouging or stripping contracts. Most of their prices are fair, and seem to be priced to the actual market. This is not the case with many other brokers.

Agreed. 2 of my 3 are Fidelity. Ive only been watching a few months and it seems that recently there is a broker that now tries to beat out that one broker for being the most overpriced. and another not far behind.

So far my experience with Fidelity has been fine. They seem to be a pretty straight forward shooter in terms of getting a deal done. The least helpful is dvcresale.com.
My experience as well. dvcresale.com tries to “educate” me…by telling me my offers are too low. Well…they aren’t too low, based on the data I have seen.

Fidelity is willing to work with both sides to get the deal done, but will give you the seller’s actual response, too, if they reject your offer.
