Thoughts on our MK Day plan?

We will be there Friday, March 3rd. It's early EMH and we plan to utilize that. It will be my husband and I and my two teenagers. It kind of jumps around the park a little more than I'd like but the later FP for 7 Dwarfs sort of screwed me up (better late than never). Please advise.

7 AM leave Port Orleans - taking bus
8 AM Park Opens ( if I miss the opening show, I'm ok with it)
Quickly go straight to Fantasyland and get as much done as possible: Peter Pan, Pooh, Small World, and of course if there is no line we will ride 7 Dwarfs. If there's time, we'll go to Buzz Lightyear too
9:30 FP Space Mtn
Ride Buzz if we haven't yet
Head Towards Frontierland, riding whatever time permits as we walk by (not sure of what route to take)
10:50 FP Big Thunder Mtn
Lunch - not sure where, figured we'd look around
Not sure about this part...possibly Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room whatever seems to have minimal wait times, I guess
1:50 all the way back to 7 Dwarfs to use our FP (if we were able to ride earlier, may cancel this or ride twice, will play it by ear)
If we are keeping FP and in Fantasyland - then we'll do Mickey's Philharmagic and start heading out of the park
3 PM Take Monorail to 4 ADR at O'hana

This will be either the end of our day, or if we are up for it (unlikely), we will head back to the park for Wishes.

I know this seems like a LOT, am I crazy?! We will have another whole day at the park a few days later, in order to get done anything we miss, where we'll also have a 12:00 lunch at BOG, and a 6 PM Hoop De Doo!! :))

I should mention that we also have a 8:20 breakfast at Crystal Palace, but I made that before I knew it was EMH, thinking it would be before the park opened. It's killing me a little bit that I need to cancel. There is no other availability for my trip for breakfast. :(

I would keep it and keep trying to modify the time up until the night before, I wouldn't be surprised if a lunch slot opened up which would work well considering you have no firm plans for lunch.

I thought I had to cancel 24 hrs prior, or get some sort of charge? What's the cut-off for cancelling without a penalty?

I believe it is actually just the day before, as in 12am, rather than 24hrs, but somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. We ended up modifying a couple of breakfasts the day of simply because we got up too late and there always seemed to be more availability on the actual day, obviously from people who had cancelled the night before. I'd keep it and keep trying, Crystal Palace is fun :)

Amelia :) is correct above - just need to cancel by midnight, and many things pop open as others are making final changes that night and the few days before. I would keep trying to change CP to late brft around 10:30, then go do BTM since you were going to grab lunch after. This probably would be good as brunch, since you have early dinner at Ohana. Also an easier walk to Frontierland once you are up front! We love CP brft as well, and had to change our PPO last yr during week before Christmas, since hours changed to open at 7 am each day, and we had 8:05. Definitely were not giving up my puffy French toast and time with Tigger:tigger: so kept checking, and got a 9:55am, so we could be take advantage of early time. Of course we then weren't hungry for lunch at BOG at 12, but lucked out by walking over to let them know and see if we could cancel w/o penalty, and they allowed us to move it to 2:00 - a little pixie dust!

I think otherwise your plan is good, especially with a second day to do anything you don't get to on Day 1. You might try to go back on one of your nights to see the new projection show(and Wishes of course if you like!)

March 3rd is far enough away that you can keep trying to "modify" your CP. Not sure if this is true, but it seemed easier to me to go in to my MDE under the restaurant and "modify" my ADR rather than trying for a,whole new ADR. We did this with GG in Epcot to get a ppo, and it worked. I think I ended up getting it a week before...
Good luck!

I think your plan sounds pretty good! The most walking with your plan is between space and big thunder. 7Ds isn't too far away from thunder. You may be able to ride space 2x--- if you get there before 930 and then again for your FP. We planned our early FP to ride the main attractions 2x-- at RD and with FP. Also, if you are able to ride 7ds at RP and with your FP, do it!

We went in September and did 2 days at MK. We tried to split MK in half to avoid cross-crossing. The first day we did fantasy land (RD and am) and tomorrow land (evening). Then, we did the other half the next day we visited which did spill over into fantasyland. We felt that limited cross-crossing and extra walking. And we were able to ride the headliners a lot!

Enjoy your trip!

Modifying our CP to 10:30 is a great idea, and I think it will work perfectly, I just will cross my fingers that it opens up!! This is exactly the kind of insight I was looking for :)

So, my question is....when we get to Fantasyland, will I need to make a Beeline to 7D or can we take it easy a little bit, maybe grab a cinnamon roll? :) I'm worried that crowds will be more than what we're used to. I hope not.

If you are wanting to ride 7D without at FP at opening and with a short wait, you will need to go directly there. The line builds very quickly.

I've been able to pick up crystal palace breakfasts on two trips while we were there. I think you will be able to do so if you keep trying!

In my experience, the wait time at Buzz Lightyear grows faster than the wait time at Space Mountain. 90 minutes into the day, you might be better off with an FP for Buzz and standby for Space Mountain.

I know this seems like a LOT, am I crazy?!

I think it's ok... but you circle the park in its entirety from 8am to 11am. In 3 hours. That's a lot. We would plan this way lower key. We get to an area and we want to spend a couple hours there.

So given your FP slots of...
9:30 Space
10:50 BTMRR
1:50 SDMT

I would plan it like this...

8-9:30 Tomorrowland. Ride Space Mtn at rope drop then do anything else interesting in Tomorrowland like get breakfast, Buzz, People Mover, and head to next step when good.
9:30-10:50 Adventureland, ending by BTMRR for FP+.
10:50-1:50 More Adventureland, then stop at Haunted Mansion (since it's on the way) to SDMT FP+, Buzz, Exit.

Then I would plan to do a Fantasyland morning the other day which will work great since you have 12:00 lunch at BOG. Spend this entire morning (9-12) in Fantasyland. Try for a FP+ for Peter Pan this day for sometime around 11.

At this point you got a morning in Tomorrowland, afternoon in Adventureland, and a morning in Fantasyland. The 2nd day afternoon few hours before HDDR you pick up anything you missed, veering out via either the right side / Tomorrowland or the left side / Adventureland. If this was us we'd probably hit up Adventureland on the way out, doing HM-JC-Tiki or something like that. I might even set up a FP+ for JC around 2pm to plan for this.

WOW - I don't know how or why, but I just checked for the umpteenth time and CP opened up for that day for either 10 or 10:35. It's nuts! I grabbed it and now love my plan. I did notice something odd though, each time I've tried to do this in the past the options were to either "modify" or "cancel". Today it looked different and the words were "change" or "cancel". I picked change and voila, I had options. Hurrah!!

Honestly, are your teens even interested in the Fantasyland rides? If you really want breakfast, do that and then head to Space Mountain. If lines are short when you return for your 7DMT FP to see other things in Fantasyland, just wing in then. You have another day in MK to do Fantasyland if you miss anything. I find I enjoy the parks a lot more without the stress of rushing everywhere.

It seems everyone heads towards fantasyland. I'd say make a beeline for 7ds if that's a must. On our second MK day in September, we rode SPlash at RD and then used our early FP. It was very quiet at RD in adventure land. However thunder was closed for refurbishment. Have fun! We loved our CP experience!
