Thoughts on our itinerary

Hi everyone,

I thought I would run our brief itinerary past you all to see if we're making the most of our time.

We (myself, DH and 21 month old son) arrive at CDG airport on Wed 4th Oct at 11.35 and will be making our way to the Hotel Cheyenne. I thought it would be best if we just take a stroll around the Dineyland Park to get our bearings, maybe have a look in some of the shops and do a few rides if the queues are not too busy.

We've booked a GMF breakfast for Friday and Saturday mornings so for the Thursday we're planning to do the Walt Disney Studios, as there wont be an awful lot for my son to go on, so I'm sure we'll easily manage that park in a day.

Friday - GMF breakfast then into Disneyland Park.

Saturday - same again GMF breakfast and into the park.

I'm a bit concerned about the days we've picked to go into Disneyland Park. From past advice on here, I think the park will be quieter during the week and busier at the weekend. Obviously my son will want to go on the rides in Fantasyland, my DH is not too keen on rides but there are a few he will want to go on, but I would like to go on them all if possible. Are we going to manage to get them all done on the Friday and Saturday without queuing for ages? We're not going to be doing any of the shows manily because our son would not sit still for that long so we thought it wasn't worth it and we're not too fussed over the parade as I think it's just the Disney Princess Parade if I'm right.

As for the Sunday, we don't fly back till 18.15 so we'll still have time for a bit more shopping or maybe visit the Vallee Shopping Centre.

I'd be very grateful for your advice, especially those of you who have done this many times! It's hard planning for your first trip as you don't know what to expect!

Thanks

Tracy

If I were you, even though you are doing a GMF breakfast on the Saturday morning, I would consider hopping over to "do" the Studios once the Disneyland Park starts to get busy. So keep Thursday for the Disneyland Park, as it will be relatively quiet then compared to the weekend - whereas the weekend crowds don't seem so noticeable at the Studios.

Does that make sense?!!

Hi Becky, yes that does make sense and it's what I was thinking. I should really have booked the GMF breakfast for the Thursday and Friday but not having been before I thought it would be better to have it later once we knew our way around. So you think it would be best to do Disneyland Park on thursday and also Friday and then the Studios on Saturday after we've had our breakfast.

Thanks for the advice

Tracy

I think you've actually booked good days for the GMF breakfast. Your Saturday booking will get you into the park good and early, so you can still enjoy a few rides there before the crowds build. Then a short stroll will take you over to the Studios. :)

That's the beauty of DLP - everywhere is so close together, that things like park hopping are a doddle :thumbsup2

Further to this would; it be possible to book GMF Brekkie's for each day and then decide when we get there whether to bother or just to eat in the hotel?

:bounce:

I don't think there is anything wrong with your plans. Becky's idea about the studios makes sense if the park is busy.
As long as you walk to GMF breakfast you'll get ahead of the crowds on the train and should manage to get a fair number of rides under your blet before park gets busy.
We managed 7 rides in the first hour in the morning in the height of summer :goodvibes

Yes I too would suggest maybe trying the Studios on the Saturday once the crowds start building in the Park.
We just came back last week, having been spoiled for a reasonalby hassle free Friday....the crowds drove us a bit mad on Sat in the Park...so we headed to the studios!
We also preferred the studio parade, not maybe so grand, but we got a great view without having to stake our place early and the characters stopped and shook hands etc. The studio parade started at 1.30pm.
Hope you have a fantastic time......can you sneak me in your suitcase!!!???? :rotfl:

I don't think that would be an option, as the tickets given for the GMF are different to those used for the hotel breakfasts.

You could just turn up at the hotel breakfast with GMF tickets and explain that you missed the GMF for, whatever reason, but I wouldn't like to say whether or not they'd let you in. :confused3

Sound like a good plan, especially to go on rides if the queues are short.

What is a GMF breakfast. how is it different? We are staying at Hotel Cheyenne and sounds quite a stressful breakfast there. Do we have to book this as we book hotel? Have i missed my chance - we have booked through Disney.

Good Morning Fantasyland. You have your breakfast in the park. You can wait until you arrive but the slots may have already gone.

And is it a good breakfast? Is it as busy as the hotels get? Is there different time slots? Do you get into the park and on the rides any earlier? Is it a character breakfast?

Sorry about all the questions but want to be sure i am doing right thing before i book it.

It isn't a character breakfast. It's mainly a means of getting into the park before the majority, and you get a chance to ride Dumbo and Peter Pan.

I don't know how crowded it can get - when we went it was busy but we were still able to find a table. Can't remember if we had to book a time slot - though I think we probably did.

The food is standard continental breakfast, eaten off paper plates, with plastic cutlery - so nothing grand!! But worth considering for at least one morning of your visit :)
