Thoughts on my driving plan?

Thoughts on my travel plan please (driving straight through): Leaving Binghamton, NY on a Friday afternoon, 5:30 PM, late October. Prefered route: 81 to Harrisburg, 15 to Frederick, 270-495-95 past DC and all the way to I-4. Couple questions: How will traffic be at DC (I'm guessing we'll arrive at the 270-495 interchange approx 10PM)? Any other traffic issues I should consider? Harrisburg? Jackonsville (should hit approx 9-10 am Sat morning? Thanks

We usually take 81 down all the way to 77-26-95. But I find Jacksonville is ok on weekends.

Traffic at 10 pm around DC shouldn't be too bad. And heading south is usually better than north at least around 495. 95 is a crapshoot, but that late and not on a holiday weekend should be ok. Any earlier though and you'll probably run into the tail end of our rush hour.

We've driven this route a number of times, but always in daylight. I worry about it being too boring at night, not as much going on as we would have on 95. Since I'll be the only one awake for most of the time, I think I'd prefer a more engaging trip.

Ok good, thanks.
