We're finally getting the chance to take our nephews :earsboy: :earsboy: (ages 9 & 11) to WDW some time in January 2006. We're thinking it will be before Jan 23. Any thoughts on what weeks are the least crowded, or do you know of any special events we should try to hit or miss?

Your input is most appreciated.

I was there for the week leading up to Martin Luther King weekend one year, and it got fairly crowded by that weekend. The WDW marathon is usually the first weekend after New Year's, but I don't think it affects the crowds a whole lot.

Hope this helps.

Mike

We are thinking of going in Jan as well. We're planning the first 10 or 11 days in jan. I agree that with the exception of MLK week the crowds are pretty light. The park hours do tend to be shorter, but with the light crowds you can still do everything. We find that most times we just walk on to everything and on some attractions were able to just stay on to ride again. Hope you have a great time,

We have always done the last weekend of January into the first weekend of February. Fabulous time to go, very low crowds..wait times are sometimes nonexistant (can't beat a walk on to splash mountain!). Yes park times are shorter, but I would rather that then wait in 1hour+ lines for rides. :earseek:

You may note from countdown timer that we are going last week of Jan 2006. I just cannot tolerate the heat...I don't sweat and swore that we would never go again between April and November!

Hope we all have a great time and get some great AP rates!

 I always go starting the weekend of MLK day and the weekend is crowded but the park is open relatively late for Spectromagic and the fireworks. But the Tuesday and Wedxnsday are great with minimal lines. Last year they had EMH on tuesday at th MK and from the official park closing of 7:00 until 10:00 we rode 15 rides without rushing around. Best time of year to go except for the 41 degrees it was at night but coming from New England in the middle of winter it felt tropical.
Have fun see you there :bounce:
