okay.. here is the deal... My parents finally decided to join us at Disney for a few days. I booked them a package through Northwest World Vacations and I have them in Courtyard by Marriot in Dowtown Disney. But, I am starting to re-think my choice. I have read some bad reviews on the boards about CbM. My brother and his family are staying at Grosvenor and I have been wondering if I should try to switch my parents there..

Any one have any good/bad experiences at Grosvenor? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you like old, smelly rooms, cracked tile bathrooms, peeling wallpaper, the Grosvenor is a great choice. I have stayed at both and will not return to the Grosvenor.

I have stayed at both. My Courtyard room was fine. I won't go back to the Grosvenor. The staff was RUDE and the room was DIRTY!

I have only really read one bad review of the Courtyard. I see a lot of others where they were let down, but I think that may be due to a comparison thing. I mean if you normally stay at the Grand Floridan then the Courtyard won't compare. (Nope, there is no Disney Themeing or Magic!)

Another thumbs down for the Grovsnor. Above post about dirty bathrooms, peeling wallpaper is about right, although I would add rusty doors and rude staff

Oh my! Well, my opinion is certainly different. We LOVED the Grosvenor! When we were there the staff was very courteous, the room was beautiful (and much larger than the Disney Moderates - and half the price). The room was very clean, well appointed and had a fridge too (at no cost). We had a wonderful view overlooking the pool area. And, the location was great - literally across the street from DD! And, we are staying there again for 3 days of our next trip in May. (Splitting time with Dolphin and another offsite property that will be determined later, when the itinerary is set).

Mold in the bathroom of our room at the Grosvenor, and a big, ugly stain on our comforter. Oh and hairs on our supposedly fresh sheets... Not one or two maid hairs, but quite a few. Yummy!
And, best of all, our room entrance was an outside entrance, more like a Motel 6 than a hotel.
We definitely wouldn't go back there.
Cheers!
