Howdy!

Having never travelled in February, were unaware of the weather, crowds and other queries. From what I have read, the parks are not too busy and the weather is just about right! Your thoughts on February would be great, Thanks! :yay:

I can only go off last year when we went early March.
Personally I wouldn't go on February, we found the weather very unpredictable with at least 4 or 5 days where it rained all day (UK style), some sunny days and some days where it was chilly by Florida standards.
People were buying sweaters at the parks, they actually sold out at Universal Studios one morning.

We may have just been unlucky.

Have to agree, it can get chilly in February, especially in the evenings, but we are going then to tie in with the school hols. Even so, its still lovely to get some sunshine after what seems like months of grey skies by then.

... it is President's Day on Monday February 19th, and this holiday tends to spill into the weekend (17th & 18th) and the week - so attendance will be up then.

I love the zero humidity at that time of year, but like JohnnySharp says, the weather can be unpredictable - you can get some blissful sunny but not hot days, but you may need sweaters for the evening as the temps may drop quite sharply.

We were there this year. Very late Feb, early March. Weather was fantastic! Very sunny and not one drop of rain for the 2.5 weeks! Some days hot. Crowds were VERY low at first, but got busier towards the end of the holiday because Spring Break was getting underway.

We also went in early Feb a few years ago and it was good, but a little cool in the morning and evenings some times. Generally it was warm and dry. One or two days I would describe as hot.

I would go again mid-Feb. crowds are low and price is cheap!

We have been to WDW twice in Feb and the weather was good :thumbsup2

A little chilly in the evenings earlier in the month but in the 80s by the second week :sunny:

We have been going in Feb. for the last 3 years. We find the weather to be mostly warm on an occasion you hit a cold spell that may last 2 days where you will need a sweat shirt and long pants. The crowds are not very big. We have a pool home so we can swim with it kept at a nice temp.

We have found feb to be fine and warm.Yes it does get a little chilly in the evening's but it's not cold.

I have been 3 times, temperatures ranged from our Spring Day to very hot. Rained a couple of times the first time, a bit more the middle time (had a tornado as well) and the last time no rain at all. Like any country the weather can vary.

Crowds were managable and it was easy doing the rides.

The other drawback is you get used to summer weather and plants then have to come back to freezing cold Britain. One year we came back to snow, wasn't too keen on that.

I cant wait to try February!! January is always so depressing and seems to drag on and on and on......!!

We fly out on the 9th Feb, so have a week before the Presidents Day weekend, and we are planning to hit the parks that first week, then do our lazier second days when its busier!!

I had to scrape ice off my car windscreen this morning, so wearing a jumper in the evenings in Feb is no hardship to me!!!

Looking forward to Feb 07!!!!!!!!!!!!

L xx

We went this year and last on the 23rd Feb - 10th March and it really was a great time to go. This year was better than last with temps in the 80's most days and only one drizzly cooler day. We did have a couple of very cold evenings though!
Last year was still lovely, temperatures not quite as high, but we still got burnt! We also had 2 really wet days, but just took ourselves off to KSC for one of the days and the Florida Mall for the other!
I would certainly go at this time again. :teeth:

We went Valentine's week of 2004 and absolutely loved it !
Yes it can get chilly day or night but as long as you check the weather
forecasts before you go and pack a fleece and jeans/trousers for each of you you'll be fine,it's better to be prepared and warm (you can always take 'em off) than cold and spending your money on warmer clothes and hot drinks:thumbsup2

We went this Feb (middle of the month) and we had to scrape ice off our car in Kissimmee! It is not reliably warm and can get chily in the evenings.

Wow that's amazing !! - we went mid to end of Feb this year and got badly sunburnt at Blizzard beach !! Just shows the temperature variations I guess !

We have been three times in February, once early, once mid and once late and all three times the weather has been really very pleasant.
It was unseasonably hot (according to the local TV weather forecasters) at the end of this February. Personally, I would describe it as much like a British Summer (without the warm, light evenings) ....ie. normally nice and warm to hot, but subject to occasional showers and/or cloudy days.

Roll on Feb 2008

We were there this Feb and it was cold in the mornings but warm later on. nice time to go without being too hot :cool1:

We went in February 03 and booked before realising our trip coincided with Presidents Day.

Worried for months about the expected huge crowds but was very pleasantly surprised when we got there. Busy but quieter than June.

However it may have been linked to adverse weather in the Eastern US States that saw several major airports snow bound!!!

Weather was wonderful- we dont like oppressive heat. The temps were in mid to high 70s every day. We had 20 minutes of rain on one day (uncannily as predicted by the weather men - to the minute!) but being early birds we did a slight chill first thing in the mornings but this had burned off by 8am.

I think overall in February you cannot guarantee good weather, yes you are definitely not going to get oppressive heat like you have in the summer.
However, it is more than likely it will be on the cool side in the morning and evening, in addition (as I said earlier), we found in March 2005 the weather changed each day from sunny to rainy to cold.

We are going the end of Jan into Feb, I have just bought a couple of fleeces to take but I was wondering would you take shorts as well or will it be too cold to wear them?

I think you need a combination of both, I am sure there will be times when you can wear shorts, however in the mornings and evenings it will possibly be too cool for them.

We did February 5 years ago.

The weather was OK. We spent a day at Wet and Wild and did all the water rides

The best thing....and the reason we are going back next February......is that there were no crowds apart from the last Friday (just before Presidents day). The longest queue we had was 30 minutes. We rode Kraken consecutively 3 or 4 times without a wait.

I would definitely recommend February as it is freezing in the UK so even on a cold Florida day you can wear shorts and T Shirt
