Staying at Cabana Bay next week, and planning on spending four days at the parks. I have a dummy reservation for Thursday night at RPR at AP rate of $225 to use for EP for Thursday and Friday. Do you think we will need the EP? Planning on spending Tuesday and Wednesday at the parks as well and utilize EE.

Depends what you want to do at the parks. If HP is your goal, then no you don't need EP cause they don't work for HP rides. But we used it last year for a lot of other rides and it was great. Not sure how busy it will be when you are there. But a rate of $225 seems like it won't be too bad.

can someone explain this to me? trying to plan a trip in April and wanted to book a deluxe for the EP but they are booked for some of our stay. I see that CB is available and later in our stay The deluxes are available should I book 1 night to get 2 days of EP only plan on doing 3 days anyway. the other 3 we are doing Discovery Cove, SeaWorld, and hanging at resort. Do you go to the hotel and check in do you get a special pass?

Yes, you need to check in at the resort and get your express passes printed. You can book a night or two and then switch hotels and it makes sense since you will only be doing 3 days in the Universal parks.

EP works just fine for Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge. But not the other HP rides. (yet)

But with 4 days, and with it not being spring break season yet, you likely do NOT need the EP, especially since you're not planning on using that room.
