Thoughts on Blue Men Show at Universal...

My family and I are going to Universal and Disney this December, and we are thinking about going to the Blue Men show in Universal. It will add another $300 to our total. We are willing to pay this, but after looking at the cost of everything, we noticed that we are paying almost $600 for extra fun (the Blue Men show and MVMCP). I am just curious as to what your thoughts are on the show. My children are 13, 10, and 8. Are you glad you saw it and would you see it again?

DH and I saw it at Vegas. I heard it was the same exact show as Universal. We hated it. Your kids may enjoy it, but I don't think it is worth $300. Part of the act included the Blue men shoving cereal in their mouth and crunching it wildly. Your kids could probably entertain you just as much! LOL Another act included Blue Men catching marshmallows in their mouth. We just didn't "get it". I've heard it is either a show you love or hate. We were in the hate group. Read some reviews online to see if it is worth it for you.

I saw them at an off-broadway theater when I was in college and thought they were cool. Just this past Feb when we were in Universal with my SIL, BIL and my neices my SIL decided she wanted to take her girls. My oldest son (10 at the time) thought he might like to go, so I bought him a ticket and he went with my SIL and two neices. BIL did not go, b/c he had already seen them during a buisness trip, and didn't feel the need to spend the money again....he hung out with DH and me and the kids at the Hard Rock. So, that should tell you that it is a cool thing to do, but definitly not a must-see IMHO.
The other thing to consider is that the show starts late, and my son was wiped out from touring and swimming all day, and while he had a lot of fun, I think he would have been just as happy tucked in his bed!

Thank you for your thoughts. I think we are going to skip it as a whole family and just let my ds13 and dh go. My ds13 is the one who is most interested in the show, and it sounds like the kind of fun that the two of them will enjoy together.

I took my dd in Sept. I wanted to see La Nouba but it was dark that week. I will say it has a strange sense of humor that you either "get" or don't. If you think it is about crunching cereal or catching marshmellows then it isn't your type of humor. I don't normally like that kind of thing. I will say I LOVED IT.....well I didn't really enjoy the toilet paper thing but my 12yo dd loved it and she is at that eye rolling stage normally. I am so glad I spent the money. We had a blast. It is at least a one time must see in my book. Even now months later I find myself remembering something in the show and finally "getting it". Loved it. Going to La Nouba in Dec however. Finally!!

We went this past February and we thought it was very entertaining. My husband and I enjoyed it and my teenage kids were falling off their chairs laughing. Its totally silly stuff and I guess we were in a silly mood that night.

It is a wonderful show. A little off the wall but very funny. It makes you think. I rank it up there with La Nouba. My daughter and niece were 13 when I brought them and they thought it was hilarious.

I saw the show in Vegas 6 years maybe ago. We didn't go for the comedy, we went for the percussion. I would go again, they have some very talented musicians. The front men are not bad either.

We saw both Blue Man Group and La Nouba last month. It was our second time seeing BMG, and it was the only thing that my BF requested we do. He didn't know what to expect of the show initially, its kinda difficult to explain. It is a strange sense of humor, a commentary on social issues, but we think its a good time. While some stunts are gross, they are kinda fascinating. We like the audience participation and will definitely go again next time we have the chance.
