Thoughts on April 2013

I lurk a lot more than I post and have searched and read tons about Spring Break at Disneyland and know to avoid the end of March/first coupe weeks of April like the plague.

What are everyone's thoughts on April 17-22nd? I live in WA state and my kids have a few days off school for parent/teacher conferences so I was thinking about taking advantage of it. The next time that we could go would be October (summer months are too hot for my youngest). But I have the itch to take them to Disneyland and don't want to wait until October. Plus my youngest turns 3 on April 16th, so it would be fun to do for her bday. My other two will be 5 and 9.

As you can see from my sig line, we used to always plan our trips for April. I especially liked it when my kids were smaller. It did seem every year our spring visit was a little more crowded. My kids have the 9-13 off in April this year (Northern CA). I would think as late in April as you are planning, that the crowds would be a little lighter.

October heat can be as bad or worse than summer heat. For cool weather spring is lovely. You can get the occaisional shower, though.

Thank You!! I don't mind a shower or two. Living in WA we are used to the rain. Hmmm I didn't think about it being hot in October. My 2 year old has had open heart surgery, twice, and doesn't handle the heat well. We could adjust our dates a little and pull the kids out of school for a day or two before the conferences start. That would put us in the parks Tue-Sun.
