The bad news is that the bench in the front entryway of of the villas no longer has Mickey and Minnie's initials in a heart carved into it. But the good news is that Walt Disney's initials are now carved into it instead. So I'm OK with them taking out what was there. But everything else is a big plus. Lots of plugs, USB ports added. Glad the bumpy saultillo tile is gone from the bathroom.
The other bad news is that the pool table is gone from Big Murgie's Den, but the OK part is that you can find it by taking a trip to the Beach House-that's where it is now. It makes sense! Fresh Market's Thanksgiving offering is, I think, even better than last year. The turkey was/is even more tender, and their cranberry sauce was so good that even though it said it would feed 3-5, I ate almost all of it myself (DH insisted on the jelled stuff in a can). We had the best villa ever, but I won't tell you the #-everyone will want it! Off to Hilton Head Diner for breakfast-more later.

Glad yall are enjoying the trip!

Hilton Head Diner was packed! Afterwards we found out part of the reason-Stacks, just down the street, had closed. After breakfast we found the best Thrift Shop-Church Mouse. OK, so it's the only thrift store I've been to on Hilton Head, but I can't imagine one better. And everyone there was so nice. It's 2 floors, but I found so much I liked on the first floor, I'd reached my self-imposed spending limit, so I left the second floor for next year. And the location is kind of out of the way of the crazy, Saturday-after Thanksgiving-traffic.
For anyone wondering about "How is the weather in November?", a few days ago it reached 70 degrees, but right now, although it's sunny, it's 46 degrees. DH is actually golfing (as he's done most days), a new course today, Bear Creek. I think it's in or near Hilton Head Plantation. I'm sure he'll be somewhat frozen when he gets back.

What is the weather like this time of year?

Also, are there places to take young kids when doing meals? If so, where would those be? That's why we love VB... very easy to bring the kids with Wind and Waves....

Weather this time of year at HHI could be up to 70 and could be lows down in the 40s. We have seen both in the same day! haha

At DHHIR, there is only the walk up quick service at the "resort" side and the "beach" side.

On HHI, there are so many options to eat.

We really like the SERG restaurants. They have a good website to check out plus they give 10% off to DHHIR guests.

We will be there on December 8th!
This is the first time we were able to get a reservation for dinner and show at the Jazz Corner - can't wait.

The above kind of says it all-it varies widely. One year it was icing on Thanksgiving. Another year it was in the 80s. But "average" is 50s and 60s.

Last note-we were lucky enough to stay 11 nights. However, our butts didn't feel so lucky since it meant putting up with one-ply toilet paper. It took a few days after we got back to feel comfortable sitting. And it's not just Disney-we went to restrooms at lots of different restaurants. Of all the places, there was only one place with 2 ply. And there it took all my self-control not to yell to DH, "They have two ply toilet paper!" But I did have a big smile. Of all places, the two ply TP was at Hiliton Head Diner. So next year we'll bring our own. And I can't wait to eat at Nectar-it's opening in about a week across the street where Lucky Rooster was (at least we were told LR was there). And on our way out the last day, we ate at Hudson's for the first time in many years. Looking forward to going back to eat there again....and to try more thrift stores....and do the Pinckney Island tour again....and eat at Kenny Bs again....and.
